A Memo to the Dems

Be careful What you wish for
`
The GOP is on the verge of nominating a dangerous and delusional sociopath to the office of the presidency.
I am not a Democrat; I left that worthless party eighteen years ago this month and never looked back. And I'm certainly not an admirer of Hillary Clinton. She is - beyond a molecule of doubt - the worst candidate the Democratic Party has ever nominated in their almost-200-year history. But even a corrupt, corporate stooge like Hillary is preferable to me when placed in comparison with Trump - to a certain degree....I guess.
I am a supporter of Bernie Sanders, but I have to be realistic. Barring another major scandal (you never know with those goddamned Clintons) he's not going to be the nominee. My only solace is the knowledge that, as bad as her term in the White House will be (and it will be bad - mark my words) we will survive Hillary Clinton. A Donald Trump administration might well mean the End of this country. Remember, you read it here, folks.

A Note to the Democrats: Donald Trump is, at present, the only positive thing you've got going for you.

Do you think it a mere coincidence that several totalitarian regimes out there in Candy Land which were clever enough to donate to the "Clinton Foundation" (whatever that might be) were rewarded with billions in  military weaponry during the time she served as Obama's Secretary of State? This is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. There's a pretty good reason (from her perspective anyway) why she refuses to release the transcripts of the speeches she gave to Goldman Sachs (for which she was paid nearly three-quarters of a million dollars). Any public figure who gives an address from which the public is excluded is not on the side of the people he or she is sworn to represent.

Congrats, Democrats. You are on the threshold of nominating the most corrupt presidential candidate in the history of your once-proud party.
`
The rationalization that "she's not Donald Trump" isn't quite good enough. You have been handed - on a silver platter - the most prescient, visionary candidate in the history of any American political party (and, yes, I would include Franklin D. Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln in  that mix) and you're tossing him to the wind like ashes. Is Hillary Clinton really the legacy you wish as a gift to posterity?

Think long and hard about this one.

I find it next-to-impossible to believe that, given all that is at stake, the Democrats would seek to nominate the worst candidate possible. They are as inherently corrupt as the Republicans. We might as well stop kidding ouirselves.

I honestly wanted the first woman to succeed the first African American president of the United States. Not that woman.

R.I.P., GOP: How Doanld Trump is Killing the Republican Party
by Matt Taibbi

This one appeared in Rolling Stone two weeks ago. Taibbi is the best political reporter of this generation. Here's a link to read it off of the Stone's website:

SUGGESTED LISTENING:

Since we find ourselves - YET AGAIN - in the midst of another presidential campaign year, I thought we might take this little stroll down memory lane by listening to the first campaign speech ever recorded: Here's former president and candidate, Grover Cleveland in 1892. In that year he became the first (and only) ex-president to be re-elected to the office:

Ain't politics a riot?

AFTERTHOUGHT:

Do you remember the good old days? When the Republican Party was merely a danger to the economic security of the American people? Before they became a serious threat to life on this planet? Can you remember those days? I can....vaguely.

The only problem Tom, is that 99% of the "scandals" involving the Clintons were bogus.

And Clucky STILL can't tell us what conservatives have done for the poor and middle class the last 40 years.

T.Pain TRIED some political doubletalk, but the question still remains unanswered by the right.

Since we have had such an idiotic foreign policy for the last 16 years I think there is an excellent chance the next admin will have a major catastrophe happen in the next four years.

There are many flash points ready to go and the worst is a total extinction event due to nuclear war with Russia and China. Any bets?

James,

I'd take your bet, but if I lost, how would you collect?

You can say both, since I consider Tom to be as stupid as Bill, but it was directed at Tom.

Yes Tom, I agree, but you still continue to ignore all the indicators that the system is rigged, and what isn't rigged is fixed. The consummate corporatist will be installed. She'll "win" because it can't be any other way. They will not let it be any other way. She's controllable and she has already sold herself to the highest bidders. The whole electoral process is elaborate (and very expensive) theater. Have you forgotten the outcome of the 2000 election already?! It was a sleight of hand coup d'état all the way, and the American people bought into it and accepted the outcome. I'm not sure how many more they're welcome.

Even if, and that's the key word..."if", Trump were to legitimately win, it would never happen. We would never know.

The process is only a means to an end. It has already been determined what the "end" will be.

Stay tuned...

Tom,

What would Hillary do if she were the President of Venezuela to stop its impending socialism caused disaster?

Tom??

Good news for Chuck:

Neoliberal Stooge Proves Democratic Party Needs to be Blown Up:

President Barack Obama on Wednesday called for an expansion of Social Security benefits, saying that the program was more necessary than ever to support an aging population.

Speaking at a high school in Elkhart, Indiana, Obama noted there are some Americans who don’t have retirement savings and those who might not be able to save money because they are unable to pay the bills.

“We can’t afford to weaken Social Security, we should be strengthening Social Security,” Obama said. “And not only do we need to strengthen its long term health, it’s time we finally made Social Security more generous and increased its benefits so today’s retirees and future generations get the dignified retirement that they have earned.”

"Even if, and that's the key word..."if", Trump were to legitimately win, it would never happen" Wow, quite the wordsmith JG, almost Shakespearean. LOL

Paris (AFP) - Transport chaos hit France on Wednesday as rail workers downed tools, and a tug of war between government and unions showed no sign of abating ahead of the Euro 2016 football tournament.

The strike has piled further pressure on the DEEPLY UNPOPULAR Socialist (WHAT??) government, which has been besieged by months of protests and work stoppages over a controversial labor reform bill."

"More than twenty thousand people have committed to protest Hillary Clinton’s likely nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia — and that number is quickly growing.

Their leaders have set up a Facebook group — titled Occupy DNC Convention — to organize housing and transportation."

Would You Ever Participate In An Anti-Hillary 'Occupy DNC' Protest?

Yes No

This is just too funny (I would have said rich, but..)!

Jefferson's guardian has it right. The fix is in. It is obvious that the people want Bernie, but the establishment needs Hillary. This election will see the end of the Democratic Party, as we know it. Trump is in place as the Boogieman to vote against, as in, "Hillary is a terrible choice, but preferable to Trump". Wonder how Bill enticed him to run. What neither she, nor the rest of the Democratic establishment, saw coming, or can comprehend is the "Bernie or Bust" minions, of whom I am one, who will not vote for Hillary under ANY circumstance. We may very well be looking at a Trump presidency.

A Trump "presidency", of which is unlikely given the power structure in place, only accelerates the inevitable. If it does happen, it's because it's by design.

Don't start the revolution without me...
