Nixon: Paper Cut - Trump: Blood Bath

Trump has proclaimed this to be "American Dream Week". Learning of this filled me with hope and optimism. That means there's a chance that I might yet awaken from this fucking nightmare.

Idiot Nation.

Watching the rolling implosion of the administration of Donald John Trump is quickly becoming a vocation with me. It's almost like reliving Watergate, only this time I'm viewing the political carnage through the eyes of an adult. The other day I told a young friend who just turned nineteen what incredible times these are to be alive. He fully agreed and understood clearly the historical implications of what is now occurring in the land of the weird. I never dreamed that we would ever again come to this point. Although thirty years ago I truly believed (and still believe) that the Iran/Contra affair (or "Contra-gate" as it was popularly known) had the clear potential to be worse than Watergate, it slowly withered on the vine. In 1987, Congress lacked the political courage to take on Ronald Reagan, and the Gipper was allowed to finish his term unscathed. I still think that they should have impeached the silly bastard.

What is happening in 2017 is very different indeed. The Trump White House is within a few months of falling of its own weight; the principal players in this nightmare - the president of the United States included - are staring to behave like a mass of cornered and panicked rats. The veil of deceit is on fire. Once the sins of the Trump Mob are on view for all to behold, there will be no place left to hide. And once it is clearly understood by the American people what these disgusting bastards and bitches have done to their once great nation, even most of the base will be hankering for a serious payback. Is it any wonder why, in recent weeks, he's been behaving more unhinged than we've come to expect? He's falling completely apart.

The bells of doom are being tolled by Special Council Bob Mueller. When it came to light a couple of days ago that he had impaneled a grand jury, I knew then and there that it was the beginning of the end. Son-in-law Jared Kushner no longer bears the serene disposition of a choirboy on opioids. He is a man tormented and desperate. Daughter Ivanka Trump has been keeping to herself in recent days. One wonders if she is terrified that Jared is going to turn on Daddy in order to ingratiate himself to Mueller and company in return for  bit of leniency. That would make for an awkward Thanksgiving dinner, no doubt about it. It's almost a given that, with their elite educations, they have studied Shakespearian tragedy to a degree that eludes the rumpled and filthy masses. I wonder if they aren't being bogged down by the analogies at this very moment. Can  you even imagine? It's a safe bet that it couldn't be much fun being Jared and Ivanka these days.

It's also an easy wager that, in the days to come, Trump and his minions will stoop to horrifically stupid and reckless depths in order to distract his already comically distracted fellow countrymen and women. I'm not conclusively saying that they're going to create their very own, Made-in-America Reichstag Fire, I'm just warning you not to put it past them. Cornered rats are known to be quite unpredictable. The "leader of the free world" has already shown his sociopathic tendencies. At this point, anything can happen. Brace yourselves for the shit storm.

I've seen quite a few bumper stickers in recent weeks that say:

WHEN YOU ELECT A CLOWN, EXPECT A CIRCUS
 `
But Trump is the clown from hell, the type that frightens children and small animals. We're way past the point when he was a mere irritating amusement. We've elected to the office that was once occupied by Abraham Lincoln a paid agent of a hostile foreign government. Does that sound like an extreme statement? Stay tuned.

SUGGESTED VIEWING

Here's a link to a very informative documentary that documents this hideous bastard's ties to Russia organized crime:

This is going to end very badly, but I repeat myself.

Hey Tom,

We lost another Governor in WV. Our losses are staggering since the man who promised Hope and Change and to stop the oceans from rising.

I think its time to put Nancy Pelosi in a wheelchair, and roll her off a cliff. Otherwise we may never win a seat at the Federal and State level again.

I totally agree, Tom. The unconstitutionality of that most egregious backdoor trading of drugs for guns, which Governor Bill Clinton participated in also, set the stage for future atrocities that have still gone unnoticed, and in most cases avoided, by the majority of Americans. Welcome to the country where this sort of underhanded manipulation has become commonplace, where corporate dominance prevails over Constitutionally guaranteed rights for human beings, and where the pretext for permanent and unending war is through manipulation of the people by very sophisticated Madison Avenue-style propaganda techniques.

George W. Bush had his own, but he was an accepted and willing participant by the powers-that-be, unlike the current occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This goon doesn't have the backing of the so-called "Deep State", and as a matter of fact the opposite -- he's running up against it everywhere he turns. As the saying goes, he's bitten off more than he can chew. He's totally out of his league.

It's going to be very interesting, to say the least.

President Trump is unequivocally a national embarrassment. With his choice of certain advisors and cabinet members and then his rushing to replace them when they don't 100% agree with him only goes to prove that Trump is NOT a leader and certainly not the one America needed. He comes off as a petty third-world banana republic dictator who fires his rubber stamp cabinet when it fails to heap praise upon him.

All of that said, I have seen too many of my friends and family on the left that absolutely still do not get it. They gleefully predict the demise of Trump and his unparalleled idiocy in governing our nation. They snicker and clap their hands as they assume the collapse of the GOP is imminent because of Trump. Once again they aren't concerned with our country. They are concerned with partisan politics and the triumph of their own left wing agenda.

THAT is why this nation is in serious trouble of failing. Until both sides put aside this useless and largely ineffectual squabbling, and decided to put the good of the nation over that of their parties, we will continue to slide down into the abyss.

So Clucky is using the name "Michael Stivic" now?

You REALLY have to hand it to conservatives. They are hanging in there in support of Trump (more like looking for Dems that did WORSE, which is sad on many levels)

But it's gone beyond any credibility now. You just CAN'T support Trump anymore. It's OVER. Grand Juries are being convened. The rats are starting to jump ship, and at a time when a politician needs political backup, Trump has managed to alienate or insult every possible ally. Even Turtle boy McConnell is sick of him.

Come on folks, loyalty to the party is one thing, but this is pathetic.

T. Paine: "I have seen too many of my friends and family on the left that absolutely still do not get it."

Get what, exactly?... that this administration is not only a supreme embarrassment to this nation, but also a grave danger to our ever-dwindling constitutional rights?

"They gleefully predict the demise of Trump..."

I'm at a loss why you don't. The wheels are in motion, Mr. Paine.

"...and his unparalleled idiocy in governing our nation."

You have to admit, this goon's methods are dangerous and unparalleled. I can't see why you don't understand that his removal from office is necessary to save the Republic.

"They snicker and clap their hands as they assume the collapse of the GOP is imminent because of Trump."

Personally, I don't believe the collapse of the GOP is imminent -- evilness will always sustain in times of crisis. But Trump, the epitome and definition of the word, must go.

"Once again they aren't concerned with our country."

On the contrary, just the opposite. They're the only ones concerned with the acceleration of racism, Islamophobia, anti-feminism, homophobia, white supremacy and neo-Nazism -- all of which this sitting president stands for and stands behind.

"They are concerned with partisan politics and the triumph of their own left wing agenda."

I'd have to say you're speaking and describing yourself here -- from a right-wing perspective, of course. Although you denounce Trump in one breath, you condone and approve of his ideology in the next.

No, Mr. Paine, you're the greater danger to this country -- you and those who think like you.

"Until both sides put aside this useless and largely ineffectual squabbling, and decided to put the good of the nation over that of their parties..."

Do you mean like "your side" did when leaders of Congress met secretly on the evening of the last President's inauguration and colluded to thwart any and all initiatives put forth by his administration? Do you mean that kind of "good of the nation" that your particular political party espouses?

Tom,

Thank you for letting me voice my opinion which may be influenced by cannabis at times!

Rain,

We all value your input except for maybe Dave Dubya. -)

Mozart,

Chuck and I are not the same person. Do you understand?

No wonder people say you are not the sharpest pencil in the box. Sorry about not being PC correct. Feel free to call me Meathead if you disagree or are upset. I can handle it.

Douvie,

You are new to this blog. amirite?

Dave Dubya and Jefferson's Guardian,

Let us not give up our dream of AmeriKa becoming like our socialist utopian dream of Cuba and Venezuela!

Mr. Paine.

I'm disappointed. I thought you were above the "Liberals don't care about America" demonizing. It never ends... Sigh.

Once again they aren't concerned with our country. They are concerned with partisan politics and the triumph of their own left wing agenda.

Many liberals know Democrats are not advancing the progressive agenda as much as they are maintaining the corporatist status quo. It may be difficult for you to understand, but wanting everyone to have health care, like every civilized country, IS concern for Americans, therefor concern for America.

They gleefully predict the demise of Trump and his unparalleled idiocy in governing our nation.

Wouldn't you join us in celebrating the demise of Trump's political career? If his party abets him, and cannot contain or refuse to impeach him for clear obstruction of justice and and violations of the emoluments clause, or assert "he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office", THEY are failing the American people and need to go.

You might see that this is very much being concerned for our country. Unless you feel Trump is making American great again...
