Ladies and Gentlemen, Start Your Clown Cars

As the blizzard of 2015 descends upon us here in the Northeast, the lack of mobility for the next couple of days gives one time to do a lot of thinking. It is now 4:00 AM here in Goshen, New York. As of this moment it's not much of a storm. That's bound to change at any moment. Outside my window there is a light powder covering my jeep, This is strange considering the fact that the nice lady on my television screen is informing me that everywhere is being hammered - particularly in New England. We shall see. The hatches are battened firmly down. Be safe. Be warm.

And while we deal with and contemplate a very real storm, the proverbial shit storm is also making itself known. I was jarred from my reverie early yesterday afternoon when I happily stumbled onto a link to a speech that Sarah Palin gave on Saturday at something called the "Iowa Freedom Summit". What the heck is this twit doing in Iowa? Exactly what every elected Republican who is not a resident of that state is doing. She's going to make a run for it next year. While she didn't actually come out and announce her candidacy, all the signs are there.

It was truly a weird thing to behold. Fascist Barbie was even more incoherent than is usually the case. Watching it, my first inclination was to assume she was on drugs. I wasn't going to mention it but when my cousin, Patricia Cullen, remarked that she has all of the symptoms of some poor soul in the midst of a serious cocaine binge, I thought that maybe I should take note of it after all. If you think I may be exaggerating, I'll provide a link to the speech in its entirety at the bottom of this piece that was provided by the website Mediaite. It's a scream.

The very fact that this completely incurious, idiotic woman was once given the second place on a national ticket is incomprehensible. "What if...." It makes the senses tremble in horror.

My theory is that Sarah Palin must know that she hasn't a ghost of a chance of being elected next year. What she is doing is nothing more than a cynical upping of her "brand" - so to speak. It seems that even the most rabid of right wingers are starting to tire of this utterly silly person's act. With the new label of "former candidate for the presidency", she will be able to regain a little attention and boost her speaking fees some twenty or thirty thousand a pop. The gal is as transparent as a window during a spring sunrise. That's why she's so much fun to watch.

The two Ricks
That's not the case as far as the two Ricks (Santorum and Perry) are concerned. They really do believe that the White House is their respective destinies. There's something pathetically endearing about the terminally clueless, you know?  A few of you will disagree with this, but I think I'm a fairly astute guy when it comes to politics. I'll let you in on a little secret: I might run for the presidency as a Republican next year. What are my qualifications? I have none. In fact only a fool would vote for me - which would, nonetheless, guarantee me a lot of votes in the USA at this sad time in its history. The only reason I've been thinking about running would be as a sick joke. The difference between Rick and Rick and I is the fact that at least I'm intelligent enough to understand that I am totally unqualified for that office. The same cannot be said for all of the right wing wannabes in this comically political season. They really believe they're presidential material.

The First Fool
I can't believe our good fortune. The prospect of all of them on the same stage trying to tear each other to shreds is too good a vision to be true. Somebody pinch me.

The most disturbing thing about the fiasco that the Republican party has become in recent years is the fact that any one of these assholes might very well be living inside of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in less than two years. Only a year ago I was predicting out loud that George W. Bush would be remembered for two reasons:

1: As the most corrupt, incompetent chief-executive in the history of human stupidity, and....

2: As the last Republican president.

I was also predicting that on January 20, 2017, one Democratic administration would succeed another one. That hasn't happened since March 4, 1857.

At the time I made those predictions I sincerely believed that the American people would not be so foolish as to place back in power the party that dug us into the mess that Barack Obama has spent the last six years trying to dig us out of. All bets are KAPUT. The GOP-controlled 114th congress will see to it that even more repressive election laws are passed between now and Election Day 2016. Count on it.

Teddy Boy
President Sarah Palin? Relax. Even the American people wouldn't be stupid enough to send that blithering imbecile to the White House. Ain't never gonna happen, so just put it out of your mind and keep it out. President Ted Cruz? That's another story. You don't believe the electorate would send a reactionary yahoo from Texas to the White House? What planet were you living on between the years 2001 and 2009? If they're perfectly capable of electing as president of the United States a screaming idiot like Dubya, they're capable of almost anything. Ted Cruz's campaign would prove to be a relative cinch.

Whatever happens next year, regardless of who's nominated at the Republican National Convention, regardless of who is elected in November; 2016 is going to be a most amusing year.

It is now 5:33 AM. The major accumulation of snow we were told to expect just after midnight hasn't appeared. There is still only a light dusting atop my vehicle. Cars now move effortlessly down the highway outside my window. Have we in the Hudson Valley somehow managed to dodge the bullet that Mother Nature aimed at us? Eight hours ago my friend, Nancy Karlovich, said on her Facebook page, "I'm calling it. This storm is going to be a flop." Perhaps she knew something the rest of us didn't.

SUGGESTED VIEWING:

Here is a link to watch Sarah Palin's speech on Saturday:

I wasn't exaggerating. You can't even satirize these nitwits. All you need to do is roll footage of them unedited. Life is beautiful.

The only thing bad about living in Iowa isthat we get bombarded by political ads everywherefor 18 months before any election. They are entertaining for a while but get old fast.

Plus, we get a constant barrage of phone calls from 5-9 PM 6 days a week.

Has ANYONE actually changed their vote because of a political ad?

Eastern Iowa. I'd tell you more but I'm afraid Sore Loser will show up and kill our pets. ;)

I was REALLY hoping Braley would beat "Phoni Joni" but never underestimate the power of the Kochs.

But if any other state wants to be the first primary, I'd be first to vote to let them have it. Hearing Phoni Joni talk about castrating hogs (which she never did) for 18 months should be used as an "enhanced interrogation" technique. Blast THAT through the speakers all night and the Branch Davidians would have given up Mt. Carmel by dawn.

Sore Loser said In 2010 a mentally ill registered Democrat named Jared Lee Loughner, shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed 6 others.

Actually, he was registered as an independent. He was anti-government, and he distrusted our currency because it wasn't backed by gold or silver. Sounds more like a Glenn Beck fan to me, rather than a bleeding heart liberal.

Either Sore Loser posted his misinformation because he believed it (which makes him a fool) or he posted it to purposely spread misinformation (which makes him a liar).

Basic John Birch boilerplate talking points. And at the same time, they try to take the high moral ground.

Pretty much everything on his "list" in the last blog was BS. it took me less than 15 minutes to debunk them all. I guess Sore Loser figures that no one will fact check his statements. He obviously never checks those he copies.

He is an unbalanced and hateful far Right propagandist troll, way out of touch with most Americans.

Most Americans are NOT true believer Republicans. Most Americans want government safety nets. Most Americans want more regulation of Wall Street. Most Americans don't think liberals are commies. Most Americans have progressive values.

And most Americans are not ditto headed Fox Fools, who corporate media abides by amplifying their voices over the majority.

Mozart,
I have twice defined Radical Progressive on Tom's blog. Giving the history of the movement and the impact it is having on America.
I have declared myself a Classic Liberal and defined same, many times on this blog.
As for listening to and quoting Limbaugh, tell me what I have written that you can say I got from him?

Further, discrediting a person's position based on who they get their support and information from is another form of an homine. Which again, I have told you before and does nothing to strengthen you position.

Dumbya would have you Mozart, believe that most Americans are not Republicans, yet there is the most recent mid term election results that have to be dealt with.

As for not answering questions, you have yet to tell us the name of the 6 newspapers you read daily that you use to get your political acumen.

Having said all of that, which if you were honest, I wouldn't have had to do again as I have covered all of this with you before, my question still remains. (side note, that you continue to bring up the same shit time after time tells me that you really haven't an original idea in your dull pencil shaped head)

What does the approved candidate list of the Radical Progressives look like?

E. Warren
B. Sanders

Who else?

I ask this because while I know that slamming any Republican is like your first wet dream, it is just a dream and nothing more. Because when you wake up, the woman (or guy!) of your dreams is not there and all you have to show for it is your sticky sheets. That's called reality.
And the reality is who ever runs on the GOP ticket you will hate and say rotten things about, but who will be running that you agree and support is what's important.
But that means having to wait until your Party tells you who to support, and original thinking is not your strong suit, which is something that can be said about most Radical Progressives.

Thats why you don't want to answer my question.

I'm on topic, it's about who might be the next president. I have asked since you a partisan radical progressive and wont be voting GOP, who you think will be your sides candidate?
Based on your lack of response I'd say that it must be a tough question.
Personally I hope the DNC runs Governor Moon Beam Brown of CA.

Here you go.

Obamacare Ad Features Woman With Her Shorts Down, “No One Goes Lower Than Us”…

Oh yes, in case you forgot, the GOP now control both the House and the Senate and the majority of the Governorships and the States legislative body's. My advise to the DNC is to move more to the right because it's clear that the American voter is rejecting your far left, radical progressive policy's. Since you are not main stream with the majority of Americans (using Dumbya's logic here) it must be because you HATE America.

AS long as we are obsessing on typos, it's "bodies" not "body's".

Clearly since you worry about such things you realize that you have been had.

Your list was 100% wrong and you do not acknowledge that error. Every time we point out your errors you change the subject and come up with some other irrelevant statement.

Yes, due to people I work around sometimes I do have to endure Limbaugh for various lengths of time. One group I contact listen to him and laugh. They find his ridiculous blather entertaining.

But I have also checked on my own, just out of curiosity. Your "list" came directly from his show. Coincidence? Are you recording and transcribing or do you get the newsletter?

Maybe you even work for him, who knows? I doubt that because I can't see you holding any kind of job. You sound like a high school kid trying to sound important.

Maybe if you fact checked yourself before posting you wouldn't look so foolish (and sad) to everyone here.

One thing is certain, whoever actually runs for POTUS from the GOP will pander to the extreme base to get the nomination, and the rhetoric will get more and more outlandish. THEN whomever gets the nod will suddenly run to the center trying to get the mainstream vote. They will completely disregard and contradict most of what they said before. No matter WHAT they say during the campaign, if they should cheat their way into office, they will do what Congress and your beloved Governors do. Immediately do whatever the Koch Bros want them to do. IT will be XL pipeline, repeal the ACA and cut taxes for the rich. They might go as far as trying to privatize Social Security and eliminate Medicare and food stamps.

The GOP's contempt for all but the uber rich is so obvious, it's amazing they get any votes at all beyond 1 or 2 percent.

AS for your questions, you can pound sand. Trying to get a straight answer from you is all but impossible, so you can stop asking me.

Remember progressives are commies in his extreme ideology.

The American Right has gone from classical liberalism to neoliberalism, both more libertarian by today's standards. The only thing "liberal" about them is advocating their mythic god "Free Market".

Of course there's nothing free or liberal about deregulated corporatism.

Today's neo-liberals are also social reactionaries who suppress minority and gay rights.

Sore Asshole is a radical neo-liberal Right Winger. Libertarians at least support gay and minority rights, and oppose the drug war, and military interventionism.

Libertarians, and so-called classic and neo-liberals share corporatist goals, where corporations have superior rights by money as free speech and write the neo-liberal "free trade" agreements that restrict our national sovereignty. They both want to dismantle and privatize our constitutional safety nets and public services. They are opposed to unions and labor rights to negotiate working conditions.

They are as "liberal" as the Koch brothers. They really want radical change.

At 2:30 PM, Anonymous Sore Loser said...

"The GOP's contempt for all but the uber rich is so obvious, it's amazing they get any votes at all beyond 1 or 2 percent."

Reality check Mozart,

The GOP after taking 80 seats from the DNC in the last two midterms now controls both House's of Congress, has more State Governors than Democrats, and controls more State legislation's than the democrats.
I hope the DNC and their allies the Radical Progressives, take note of this and before they are voted into nonexistence, turn their ways from the left to the right, with the majority of Americans. It is sad to see the Party of Truman and Kennedy being destroyed by the current leadership of the DNC.

I know how hard it must be for those who live in the bubble cult of Radical Progressive to accept this, as they have become believers in the lies they have used to get votes in the past. When you only read Salon and the Huffington Post and only watch MSNBC for your news, it is understandable how a cult can distort the fact that the GOP is now in control of Congress.

It is the Democrats who have total contempt for Americans or else they would not have been voted out of office in record breaking numbers from the State level all the way to the Federal level.
It is the Radical Progressives who can not face the rejection of their policy's and have a list of excuses for their defeat:

1. It was the Koch money and big corporations that defeated the DEMs

2. There isn't much difference between the two party s so getting our ass handed to us doesn't mean anything

3. GOP cheated

4. Must be Voter suppression because their base didn't show up to vote

5. Democrats weren't liberal enough

6. Racism

7. Voters were duped

8. Voters must have been high on pot

9. We didn't get our message out

10. Supreme Court is corrupt when they decide against liberalism, honest when they don't

11. It's all the fault of Fox News

Sore Loser does not comprehend that they "won" the House through Gerrymandering, and won the Senate through disenfranchising voters. Here in Iowa there is talk of votes being thrown out from Democrat districts, which is believeable since that's how Bush "won" Florida in 2000.

He acts like we are using cheating as an empty accusation, but it's PROVEN. The GOP isn't even hiding it anymore.
Of course, they don't talk about it on FOx News so go figure Sore Loser thinks it's a myth.

I also love how he uses the term "bubble cult" since it was Bill Maher who first used the term (sort of) saying that "Republicans live in a bubble, into which no facts can enter" He's even had a bit where they put a guy into a "bubble" where he can't hear anything from the outside, until Maher said "Tax breaks" whereby the guy's eyes lit up. Conservatives the stole the idea, accusing Dems of it.

So once again Sore Loser is unable to think for himself. I didn't listen to Limbaugh today, but I'm sure 99% of Sore Loser's "ideas" come either from him or Fox Noise.

Now that the GOP has mastered Gerrymandering of House districts to the point where it's nearly impossible for a Democrat to win, did you know that there has been a movement in the House the last few years to eliminate the electoral college and have the POTUS chosen by House districts?

THat way, even though Obama won the popular vote TWICE, he would still lose the election because the house is Gerrymandered to the right and they would choose the Republican every time in spite of the popular vote, which even Bush lost twice.

Michael Moore Is A Dickhead

Nothing pisses me off more than a 'celebrity' using their fame to talk smack about our military men and women.

Today I saw a number of Tweets from Michael Moore insulting American Sniper war hero Chris Kyle and I erupted like that volcano puking lava all over the place in Hawaii. I went straight to my girlfriend Sissy and showed her what he said.

Almost all young girls have crushes on famous heartthrobs, and Sissy is no different - for years she's had a sexy poster of Michael Moore on the ceiling over the bed. Fortunately, my girl shares my patriotism love for America, so it was no surprise that she marched into the bedroom and tore down that stupid poster.

Sissy taking a little longer to 'get in the mood' on date night is going to be a small price to pay for getting that commie dickhead out of our lives.

Michael Moore, when I say you just lost your biggest fan, I'm not kidding.

Sore Loser is hilarious. He keeps repeating the same about GOP "wins" crap even though it's been proven wrong. I guess according to HIM, If your house is broken into, and you are robbed, he'll say "Watch as they use the old "A burglar did it" excuse.

He's avoiding owning up to the fact that he posted a list of complete lies. He's avoiding admitting he never said "Three times" who his congressmen were.

He's avoiding admitting he uses wrong words, and instead attacks typos.

He's avoiding admitting he has no clue about even the basics of how the government works.

His list of Obama "lies" are the same as all the "scandals" the GOP came up with. Obama told the truth as far as how things SHOULD have gone, and does not mention that it was the GOP, along with corporate insurance that caused the issues. It could have and should have gone exactly as Obama promised.

I wonder if his Girlfriend "Sissy" is a transvestite. More likely a blow up doll. Certainly no one as ignorant and immature could find another human so childish, unless...no I don't want to think about that.

Moore was not insulting the military. He's upset about the GLORIFICATION of war and about the LIES involved with the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Is the military so sacred they cannot be criticized now? Moore has given time and LOTS of money to help returning vets. He's BEEN to the Middle east to see the troops. How many times has Sore Loser been to Iraq I wonder?

The kid is impossible to have an adult conversation with. H actually should be banned from this site, because he's just another ignorant troll.

But like Fox News and their conflict with DISH Network, he'll cry CENSORSHIP. So I guess we should let him blather. But it's hard to watch. Like a movie or TV show that's so bad one is embarrassed for the actors.

I wish we could let him see how ignorant he looks, but the "bubble" is strong with this one. Perhaps his family should try an intervention and therapy.

Poll Shows Democrats Lose Swing Voters Over Amnesty

Sore Loser refuses to define "Radical Progressive" so It's probably useless to ask him to list "Anti American positions".

AS for his "poll" I clicked on his name and got some ultra right wing site that 99% of people wouldn't go near. He's referred to "Bob's poll" or such like. They pol a few batshit teabaggers and say "Americans oppose Amnesty"

Reagan supported 100% amnesty, as did BOTH Bush's.

All Obama wants to do is allow the parents and siblings of kids born here (Who are CITIZENS) to stay in the country so the families will not have to be split up (you'd think "family values" conservatives would support this). They must pay all back taxes, and will not be allowed to collect welfare benefits and will NOT be eligible for the ACA. They must also go through the citizenship process. It's not "Amnesty" in any way shape or form.

In fact, more illegals have been deported under Obama than under Bush. As of 2012, illegal immigration is at "Net zero' meaning as many are leaving as are coming in.

You won't find that in his "poll".

Go figure the boy troll would promote the right wing lies about the program.

Communist Party USA Chairman Promises Cooperation With Democratic Party

For Caprice, here's the link to the source

peoplesworld.org/a-radical-third-party-i-agree/

Direct quotes from the manifesto:

“First, we are part of building the broadest anti-ultra right alliance possible, uniting the widest array of class (including a section of monopoly), social and democratic forces. This necessarily means working with the Democratic Party,” the communist leader explained.

“Second, our objective is not to build the Democratic Party. At this stage we are about building the broad people’s movement led by labor that utilizes the vehicle of the Democratic Party to advance its agenda,” Bachtell further expounded. “We are about building the movements around the issues roiling wide sections of people that can help shape election contours and debates.”

“[W]e are for building movements in the electoral arena and see engagement in the electoral arena and democratic governance as a vital means to further build movements”

What is going to be telling now is the response from Dumbya, the Radical Progressive Chief of Thought Police. You see, this admission by John Bachtell goes counter to what Dumbya has been claim for some time, that his brand of liberalism or the DNC is not connected to nor helpful towards the Communist Party, USA.

Here are a few of the comments made about this manifesto.

"Certainly the masses of people, the core constituencies of the Democratic party, are similar to the core constituencies of Socialist and Communist parties through the world."
Norman Markowitz

"Two Party system is actually the one party system of the wall street lobby. What communists are trying to help working class and its allies to take over a significant section of voters to take over the leadership in near future. That is the only scientific way." Progressive Democrats and supporters of working class and representatives of working class will win over the vast majority of Democratic party some time soon.Think of Trumka or any one else as President elected some time. "
Ramakant Sharma

"As an activist in Progressive Democrats of America I see the day to day struggle to win over moderates, develop working class leaders, and broaden the appeal of a progressive platform.

Not mentioned in the article is the key leadership role of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. They oppose the neoliberal agenda and promote progressive legislation like the Full Employment Act, Medicare for All, and the Better Off Budget."
Randy Shannon

Let me stop there because term "neoliberal" has been used before on this blog, or medicare for all (single payer)
Any one care to guess by whom?

Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues

by Bob Dylan (copyright 1962):

Well, I was feelin’ sad and feelin’ blue
I didn’t know what in the world I wus gonna do
Them Communists they wus comin’ around
They wus in the air
They wus on the ground
They wouldn’t gimme no peace . . .

So I run down most hurriedly
And joined up with the John Birch Society
I got me a secret membership card
And started off a-walkin’ down the road
Yee-hoo, I’m a real John Bircher now!
Look out you Commies!

Now we all agree with Hitler’s views
Although he killed six million Jews
It don’t matter too much that he was a Fascist
At least you can’t say he was a Communist!
That’s to say like if you got a cold you take a shot of malaria

Well, I wus lookin’ everywhere for them gol-darned Reds
I got up in the mornin’ ’n’ looked under my bed
Looked in the sink, behind the door
Looked in the glove compartment of my car
Couldn’t find ’em . . .

I wus lookin’ high an’ low for them Reds everywhere
I wus lookin’ in the sink an’ underneath the chair
I looked way up my chimney hole
I even looked deep down inside my toilet bowl
They got away . . .

Well, I wus sittin’ home alone an’ started to sweat
Figured they wus in my T.V. set
Peeked behind the picture frame
Got a shock from my feet, hittin’ right up in the brain
Them Reds caused it!
I know they did . . . them hard-core ones

Well, I quit my job so I could work all alone
Then I changed my name to Sherlock Holmes
Followed some clues from my detective bag
And discovered they wus red stripes on the American flag!
That ol’ Betsy Ross . . .

Well, I investigated all the books in the library
Ninety percent of ’em gotta be burned away
I investigated all the people that I knowed
Ninety-eight percent of them gotta go
The other two percent are fellow Birchers . . .
just like me

Now Eisenhower, he’s a Russian spy
Lincoln, Jefferson and that Roosevelt guy
To my knowledge there’s just one man
That’s really a true American: George Lincoln Rockwell
I know for a fact he hates Commies cus he picketed the movie Exodus

Well, I fin’ly started thinkin’ straight
When I run outa things to investigate
Couldn’t imagine doin’ anything else
So now I’m sittin’ home investigatin’ myself!
Hope I don’t find out anything . . .

Gotta love Sore Loser. A desparate try when he knows he's been beaten.

I guess the Kochs think of the GOP as "Useful idiots".

The difference is that the Dems have nothing to do with the Communist party, but the GOP does whatever the Kochs ask. Grover Norquist has all of them sign an oath NOT to ever raise taxes on the rich (which vioates their oath of office but what do they care right?)

I can't WAIT to see what batshit (not to mention irrelevant) nonsense he comes up with next!

He doesn't know that the Senate is part of congress.

It takes him the better part of a year to name his congressmen

He makes a list of "violent Dems" that turn out not to BE Dems at all, in fact most are conservative if anything.

He doesn't know the word " ad hominem"

He steals a term coined by a Liberal to describe conservatives, proving he has no original thoughts of his own.

There are more but that will do.

When confronted with his mistakes and asked to answer to them he simply changes the subject.

All of us are playing this poor kid like a $2 banjo and he has no idea it's going on.

Oh well, he'll be back with some other nonsense. Like they say on the message boards,

Repeal the ACA (Never happen as long as a Dem President is in office, and since Bush they can't steal THAT office)

Push the XL Pipeline that no ratinal person (even the Candians) want.

Cut taxes on the rich some more.

Cut or eliminate any program that helps poor or middle class Americans

Do anything they can to make women and minorities "second class citizens".

Obama can VETO any of that, and he can use the Exec order to get most of what he wants.

80% oppose the XL pipeline the GOP has a hardon for.

Even Republicans participating in the ACA LOVE IT.

From votetexas.gov

"In 2011, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 14 (SB 14) creating a new requirement for voters to show photo identification when voting in person. While pending review within the judicial system, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its opinion in Shelby County v. Holder, which effectively ended all pending litigation. As a result, voters are now required to present an approved form of photo identification in order to vote in all Texas Elections.

This requirement is effective immediately.

Here is a list of the acceptable forms of photo ID:

•Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)

•Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS

•Texas personal identification card issued by DPS

•Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS

•United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph

•United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph

•United States passport

With the exception of the U.S. citizenship certificate, the identification must be current or have expired no more than 60 days before being presented for voter qualification at the polling place."

-----

So, it isn't an "NRA card", Mozart (though that does sound way juicier and more sinister), it is a concealed-carry license which is essentially the same as a DL as it is administered by the same agency.

I figured you'd want to know the truth since you are so passionate about accuracy and sources and never spout editorialized opinions - only facts...

“Sixty percent of job creation in 2014 was caused by the expiration of unemployment benefits, according to a new working paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research. In late 2013, a standoff between Republicans and Democrats led to the abrupt expiration of long-term unemployment benefits. Democrats warned that the expiration would have disastrous ramifications, but Republicans had long argued that allowing Americans to collect unemployment benefits for an indefinite period of time provided a disincentive for them to work. The new working paper found that the expiration of benefits was responsible for the creation of over 1.8 million jobs. Nearly 1 million of those jobs were created by workers who would have otherwise stayed out of the labor force if unemployment benefits had been extended. "

So this would be of little concern to him, but for those who wait for more information before jumping to pre-conceived conclusions:

Did Cutting the Duration of Unemployment Benefits Lead to Faster Job Growth in 2014 ?

This is an interesting result which contradicts much prior research indicating that shortening benefit duration had little impact on employment growth…

This runs completely counter to the claim that shortening benefit duration provided a boost to employment growth.

At 11:52 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I wouldn't say he lied per se, but I do believe he buys into and repeats the mantras of the sources he follows, like he accuses others of.

He is right that TX will accept a government administered concealed carry license (or in his vernacular, an "NRA card")as an official ID and not a non-government administered student ID card (that is in place essentially so you can get your lunch at the Student Union, buy books, and get into the student section on gameday).

My point is that he deals in supportable facts no more than the next guy. We all filter "facts" through our own goggles. Tom, Mozart, DD, SoreLoser, me.... all of us.

The whole demanding of facts and support is getting silly. Anything we are providing is based on 2nd hand reports (at best). The conversations are far more interesting and fruitful if we try to understand and challenge each others' fundamental premise(s). Without that, we are always talking past one another.

So, is a voter ID card a bad idea conceptually? Of course not. No sane-thinking individual would think such a thing. That's not the issue. The issue is distrust.

Do parties try to use schemes to gain political advantage? Of course. Getting elected (or re-elected) is 50% of what they are about. The other 50% is finding money.

So, it is not irrational to think a voter ID is a good idea. Neither is it irrational to suppose a political party is trying to use it to gain advantage. We could debate and try to come to consensus and compromise... or simply scream at each other and demonize each other ad nauseum. Seems like the latter is honestly what folks desire.

Hey, I told the truth. I can't help it that conservatives "can't handle the truth".

And WHY do we have to force people to go out and get new forms of ID to deter voter fraud that NEVER EXISTED?

And isn't it funny that red states like Texas adopted these new laws within 48 hours of the SCOTUS scrapping half of the Voting Rights act?

And isn't it also funny how these new requirements effect mostly poor and minority voters who tend to vote Democrat?

It's also interesting that the GOP went to great lengths to eliminate ACORN, who did many things for the poor, one of which was (HORRORS!) At 2:15 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

"And WHY do we have to force people to go out and get new forms of ID..."

First, note that I was trying to be fair-minded and open in my previous statements. I gave credence to both sides of the issue. And, both sides have valid points - and both, I think, can be addressed in a policy that makes sense.

But, again, your above statement is rhetorically coloring the issue, Mozart.

On the surface, the law is simply saying you need to have SOME SORT OF official photo ID to vote. And, some of the forms of ID are no more difficult to obtain than is the process of actually going down to a precinct to vote. Nowhere is it forcing "new forms of ID" - these are already established forms, except for the newly established option of an Election ID card, which is free of charge. As for elderly and disabled, they are eligible for voting by mail which essentially exempts them from this process anyway - they prove their status and are allowed to vote by mail. As for Election ID, the process is no more difficult and is FREE.

Again, proves my point. The rhetoric is stronger than the evidence. This is not an onerous conspiracy. The lack of ANY affirmation of any part of the concept leads one to believe your point of view is disingenuous.

Question, Harley...

HOW DID PEOPLE VOTE BEFORE?

And why change since there is no evidence of individual voter fraud?

ALL it does is make it harder for some people to vote. What's the point of THAT?

It's about disenfranchising as many voters as possible, especially those who don't vote Republican.

Along with Gerrymandering, it proves that the GOP knows it can win a national election on the issues, because most people disagree with them. so they CHEAT.

At 2:53 PM, Blogger Dave Dubya said...

Taken in greater context, voter ID's are just part of the issue. Perhaps the blowback wouldn't be as intense had there been significant voter impersonation fraud in the first place.

There was not.

Let's be clear. It was a manufactured "crisis" with a one-party imposed "cure".

And now let's be honest.

Republicans have also made it more difficult to register voters.

SHORTENING EARLY VOTING PERIODS

ENDING ELECTION DAY REGISTRATION

RESTRICTIONS ON THIRD-PARTY REGISTRATION
The League of Women’s Voters (LWV), a group that has registered voters for over the past 70 years in Florida, ended its voter registration program in Florida because of the new law.

PURGING OF VOTER ROLLS

All of this is a one-party attempt at controlling elections.

It ain't democracy and it ain't a representative republic.

It is voter suppression. It is Republican voter suppression.

Guys, the certainty that voter ID issue is not a problem is not settled in my mind. DD, those are assertions (again) based on 2nd and 3rd hand information. And, typically from biased sources. Neither of you has the warrant to deem it settled. You WANT to deem it the case. Maybe you're right, maybe you're not. But, having a process and protocol is still agreeably better than having none. We have registration, precinct monitors, etc. Why have that? It makes it harder. Why not mail out ballots and let me send mine down with my son on his bike and let him drop it in? Why? Because that system would be abused BIG TIME.

And, suffice it to say that Democrats benefit from loose voting policies and lack of control. So, given that you'd roll back (for instance) TX voting policies, I could claim the same politically driven conspiracy.

Old age and disability are two very real circumstances we need to protect. But, the most oft-cited problem is racial, to which I see an underlying and insidious racism attached. If I were black, it would offend me if a white man claimed that getting a voter ID was harder for me to accomplish than for a white man.

Lastly, it is not unreasonable to assume that the voting practices are more at risk in today's climate of greater % of illegals in our borders. That is simply a fact.

Harley,
If every assertion is biased, so is yours.

Fair Elections Legal Network

Feel free to correct them.
http://www.fairelectionsnetwork.com/about

Both Florida and Texas passed laws last year that make it harder for third-party groups to conduct voter registration drives. In Florida, black and Hispanic Floridians and those from Spanish-speaking homes are over twice as likely to register to vote via third party groups as white Floridians or those from English-speaking households. The new law will require voter registration groups to register all paid staff and volunteers with the state if they are collecting voter registration forms. These groups will have 48 hours to return signed voter registration forms or face fines up to $1,000. The League of Women’s Voters (LWV), a group that has registered voters for over the past 70 years in Florida, ended its voter registration program in Florida because of the new law. Fortunately, LWV has resumed its voter registration program after parts of Florida’s new law were blocked in federal court. Michigan is also considering legislation to restrict third party voter registration.

Do you doubt the existence of laws on the books?

The guiding philosophy behind GOP voter suppression is clear.

"I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down." - Paul Weyrich founded ALEC and co-founded the Heritage Foundation, Moral Majority, Council for National Policy, and Free Congress Foundation, among others.

Absolutely - now you get it.

The truth is there - but not always easy to get at... politicians do everything they can to blur it.

I'm not paranoid about illegals, and I don't hold anything against them for wanting earn a living for their families. I'm not for inhumane treatment or even deportation in many cases. At the same time, they don't have the right to vote. And, no, I don't want illegals of any color or ethnicity to vote.

Again, the argument starts to become about pegging me with race, ethnicity, etc. when for me that has nothing to do with it. Nor do those things defeat the argument, anyway.

Look, it is a symmetrical thing here. The Democratic party flourishes on lower income voters and the marginalized populations. I don't mean that to be ugly, just reality. So, it WOULD benefit Dems to allow illegal immigrants to vote, right? that is a fact. So, again, the protesting against what on the surface seems reasonable has connotations of political advantage.

And, if a black man from the south in 1870 were to visit today and see a black man crying because getting a free voter ID card by going to the DMV for an hour was too onerous, he'd be highly offended, if not somewhat amused by the whole thing. It does violence to the real bigoted oppression that DID occur.

You can continue to offer arguments, but on the face of it, it seems like political recoil to a very reasonable ask.

At 4:34 PM, Blogger Dave Dubya said...

Wrong. It would be illegal.

That is a great point. So, why would the GOP be working to cut the legs out from under themselves? Why would they put in place policy that makes it harder for people to cheat, when cheating is how they win elections?

Look, gerrymandering is a shady practice. If the GOP is engaging in rampant gerrymandering, then shame on them. Dems have been known to do it, too, by the way. There is really no defense for it.

But, this is not the same thing. The concept is sound and fair.

More interesting and foundational discussion...

Who would it benefit if, to vote, you were required to answer the question "name the President who issued the Emancipation Proclamation"?

I make no apology for the fact that low-information voters of all races, religions, ethnicities, etc. scare me. I don't think voting is a human right - it is a civil right. And, what is the bar for being a "citizen" who has earned the right to vote?

You're 18, a U.S. "citizen" and you take up space? Seems an awfully low bar, but it's essentially the one we have. Not saying I have that answer, either.

Frankly, I think my first step would be to raise it to age 25. An 18 year old in 1800 and today are two very different people...

Yeah, remember the old "literacy test" has been used already, and who bore the brunt of that scheme?

How about the right to free speech?

Would that need prior approval by a literacy test too? Slippery slope.

The lowest information people probably don't even vote.

IF rights are "earned", and some entity has the power to bestow and deny rights, are they really rights at all? No, they become privileges. And we all know who the most privileged are. They are the owners of our politicians.

Why not let just the rich vote? Screw the unemployed and poor even more. Republicans would love that. The rich already have the "free speech money", and its influence, sewed up.

ALEC and the Chamber of Commerce are, and have been, writing trade agreements that become law of the land.

How about a conflict of interest test for corporate entities? They already have superior rights to free speech, along with less unaccountably for wrongdoing.

Koch, Koch Koch, ooooh nooo the bogie man is going to get you Dumbya, LOL!HAHAHAHA

Harley,
Is it possible that the reason Texas is requiring proof of the right to vote is due to the 10's of thousands of illegals who have crossed their border with Mexico?
Not a racist reason, but a simple legal reason.
Do the Radical Progressives believe that convicted felons should be able to vote like they did for former SNL star Stuart Franken?

Never forget one the of reasons Mozart and Dumbya use when they lose an election is voter suppression, but when they win an election as in 2012 and 4 million GOP voters who voted in 2008 do not vote it's because of the candidate. IE that has nothing to do with the IRS and the Tea Party or DNC voter suppression. In their mind that is only done by the GOP.
Of course there was that election in 1960 where in Cook County IL there was some strange thing going on with the ballot boxes.

Lets face the facts, that last book tour of hers was a flop.

Watch the photogrphers (and their editors) closely. You could tell in 2008 that the media had turned on Hillary for "The Messiah" when they began to show unflattering, high-def shots of her - shot late in the day, in bad light at unflattering angles.

There is absolutely nothing that can be done for that super sized caboose of hers. Maybe the photographers won't show it just like they didn't show FDRs crutches.

I think Hillary should dress up in her polyester suit again and fly to Donetsk to dodge some bullets at the airport. That would help her campaign and show she is a fearless Chicken Hawk.

It should also be illegal to expose children to religion before the age of 16. Too easy to ingrane that superstitious nonsense in the psyche of an impressionable child.

Tom Degan once said:

"Dirty politics? No doubt. But two felony charges? That seems a bit extreme to me. Democratic party or Republican, Texas is such a fucked up state - extreme and completely corrupt - you just never know with that place."

From the Proglydites Mothership:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/31/opinion/sheldon-silver-andnew-yorks-cauldron-of-corruption.html?_r=0
Sheldon Silver and New York’s ‘Caldron of Corruption’

"Now that Sheldon Silver has been pressured into agreeing to resign as speaker of New York’s Assembly after his arrest on corruption charges, the governor and the lawmakers who so poorly represent the state should not kid themselves into thinking they have made real progress on cleaning up what the federal prosecutor who indicted Mr. Silver called the “cauldron of corruption” in Albany.

In theory, the Democrats who control the Assembly should be able to pick a successor who is committed to good governance and ethics reform, but already the signs of back-room dealing and meddling from party hacks are not encouraging. And even a good choice would not be enough. Without real change, New York’s lawmakers could simply continue to rob the public of more than money, as the United States attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, said recently. These lawmakers cheat New Yorkers of the honest and productive representation they need and deserve.

Over the last decade, more than 30 state officials have gone to prison or been accused of sexual or civic wrongdoing ranging from bribery to stealing state money and extortion. The group of 30 includes several lawmakers accused of sexual harassment. One governor resigned in scandal, a comptroller — the watchdog of the public purse — was jailed for fraud.

Mr. Silver is accused of using his law practice to rake in millions of dollars while helping clients in Albany.

The charges against Mr. Silver make it scandalously clear how easy it is to buy influence in Albany. The campaign finance system needs a complete overhaul, with lowered limits, more disclosure and public matching funds for campaigns. Until then, lawmakers could end the scam used by many contributors to get around the few limits New York State law does have; they create dozens of small limited-liability corporations that can each give the maximum amount allowed. That was the method prosecutors say was used by Leonard Litwin, the real estate developer, whose company, Glenwood Management, funneled more than $10 million to candidates and party committees, including substantial funds to Mr. Silver."

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy,

You should not throw stones when you live in a glass house. The fact is New York State is such a fucked up state - extreme and completely corrupt - you just never know with that place.

Eat crow Tom Degan. Upper New York is just like West Virginia, nothing but redneck hillbillies who are too fucking stupid to know their state politicians are fucking them up the arse.

No pensions, no lifetime medical benefits for them and their families.

Maybe then we'll get some people who do it for their civic duty instead of just trying to steal everything they get their hands on.

Here is a link so your little economically challenged brain can learn more about it:

Also, after your Dictator hero FDR died (who created the biggest Ponzi scheme Social Security that will eventually collapse as it can't sustain itself no matter how much it is subsidized), the Congress immediately passed a law for Presidential Term Limits to prevent such a Dictatorship from happening again.

Here is a link for you Mozart to learn about FDR being the reason for the 22nd amendment to the Constitution:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
"Near the end of the 1944 campaign, Republican nominee Thomas E. Dewey, the governor of New York, announced support of an amendment that would limit future presidents to two terms. According to Dewey, "Four terms, or sixteen years, is the most dangerous threat to our freedom ever proposed."

No The Kochs don't hold a gun to the heads of individual voters,(they are just brainwashed through fear, and bigotry) but they DO contol the purse strings of the GOP and the people that DO get "elected" do whatever THEY say, while ignoring the PEOPLE they took an oath to serve. Grover Norquist actually has therm all sign an oath to "never raise taxes" or they don't get that coveted "funding". (Isn't coveting a sin as well?)

Plus those same "public servants" then control how voting districts are arranged, so they get to GERRYMANDER so it's nearly impossible for them to lose, even when the popular vote nationwide goes against them.

And now, thanks to the Supremes, not every eligable voter GETS "one vote" because they wetre unable to come up with the special ID's required in red states.

Keep defendoing the Koch bros. Unless you are at least a multi millionare you are supporting people who are screwing YOU as well as those outside the conservative "bubble".

Oh I don't "envy" people who have enough money for 500 lifetimes, and then whine and cry about taxes and the poor. I pity them. I May never see $30,000 a year in my lifetime, but we have a comfortable home (Paid off BTW), more than enough to eat, and even manage to save enough for a nice vacatin every couple years. I have no need or desire to be "monetarily rich". I am wealthy beyond my greatest hopes because I have family and friends.

BTW, The "7 deadly sins" are wrath, GREED, sloth, pride, LUST, envy, and GLUTTONY.

Special emphasis on GREED there Mr. Hypocrite.

Not really, no. I can think of a few despots who were determined to stamp it out best they could and had some success.

Many modern day western European and Scandinavian countries are pretty much post-Christian secular civilizations, but there are still vestiges of Christianity, at least in form. That would have to be the closest thing I know of.

Thank you Harley. When I heard that comment made it grabbed my attention.

I couldn't think of any civilization that had organized atheism or an unorganized religion. Which is interesting when you realize that atheism has not produced a civilization, yet it's followers attack organized religion claiming it is an example of primitive, nonthinking man.

That's not to say I agreed with or believe in the religion of many of the civilizations, cause I don't. But at it's core, one of the characteristics of civilization is the development of an organized religion.

As for the rest of the drivel my question has produced, and I'm guilty of doing it as well, it is darned near impossible to hold an adult like conversation where facts are used to support ones position instead of personal attacks and half truths. Like 9-11 was an inside job, or the results of the last two mid terms didn't happen or Reagan's VP tried to have him killed. Still it really bothers me that the DNC has not rejected the CPUSA's willingness and plan to work with them. They are nit the party of Kennedy and Truman, that's for sure.

How do you KNOW there wer no atheists?

Can you imagine someone in 1770's North America announcing they did NOT Believe in the Christian God?

Hell, even Quakers were banned from the Massechusetts bay colony under penalty of DEATH.

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/quakers-executed-for-religious-beliefs

And THAT was from people who came to the new world seeking "Religious freedom" (an oxymoron if ever there was one)

Don't get me started on Galileo or the Spanish Inquisition.

It's only been in the last 50 years or so that it's safe, even in the USA to admit to being an Atheist.

And look at how "Christians" treat the Muslims, even those here in the USA who support America and even fight in our military AGAINST extremists!

Conservatives like to lump ALL Muslims together as if they are ALL "terrorists", but just try and compare CHristians to the KKK. See what happens.

Those regemes you bring up like Hitler (who wasn't REALLY an Atheist) Stalin, Mao, etc, were not REALLY Atheists as they thought THEY themselves WERE the "Deity".

Your suggestion that religion is REQUIRED for a "society" is bullshit. It just happens that we are just at the beginning of wholesale rejection of mass superstition. More and more young people reject religion. In time, it will vanish and fade away. Might take a few more decades, but in a few generations, I see religion becoming an anomoly.

And it will not efect "morality" because "faith" is not required for one to be moral. On the contrary, some of the most agressively faithful are the least "moral" because it gives people a false sense of superiority. For example, it was considered OK to kill the Indians because they were "Heathen savages" when in fact most were more "moral" than the Christians. Yes, most had "Gods",(but not REAL ones like yours right?) but again, like the MEN that invented the Christian God in the first place, they were ignorant of how the world worked. They were not moral because of the Gods, they were moral because it was common sense. They thrived because they helped each other. You know. SOCIALISM. (And didn't Jesus tell us to care for each other?)

Having said that, I have always maintained that PURE Socialism never works any more than PURE Capitalism.

We need ideas from ALL areas DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION.

For example, a private for profit Fire Department would not work (I know cause we used to have them in the 1700's and it was a disaster)

Nor would a for profit police departmant be of any use. And how would a "Pay for service" military work? If I miss a payment, how do they take away MY protection without taking that of the rest of my town, county, state, etc?

We've all seen that for profit health care is a disaster. As are for profit PRISONS.

But stuff like building cars or washing machines, and stuff like that should be "for profit". Why not? I won't die without a car or washing machine. I can do without a TV. But everyone has the right to eat and be healthy, and it's in EVERYONE'S BEST INTEREST THAT THAT HAPPEN.

But I DID notice both Harley and the boy troll ignored the FACTS I presented. Harley refused to admit I was right, and slunk away, and the boy troll just changed the subject.

She explained, "I hate abortions, but I just could not make that choice for someone else."

Both are as dumb as a pile of rocks.

Obama was interviewed as part of a Super Bowl pre-game show by NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. Obama says during interview, “We make beer. First president since George Washington to make some booze in the White House”. Guthrie clearly doesn’t get what he just said; she never challenges him.

Obama has the great honor of living in the White House but never checked the tour or the history?

The first president to live in the White House was John Adams, after it was constructed between 1792 and 1800. President George Washington never did, as most American school children learn in elementary school. So no, he never made booze in the White house.

Obama might have missed that since he was living in Indonesia as a young boy, or perhaps he started the Super Bowl partying a bit early…

Harley A,

It's like this, Mozart says there is no God, therefore Mozart is god, and as such is accountable only to himself (and his beloved progressive govt programs).

Asking him to lighten up is like raising the Titanic from the ocean floor, in theory it could be done, but in reality, not so much.

Obama said "we make beer, first President since George Washington to make booze in the WHITE HOUSE",
Mozart said "Obama never said Washington lived in the White House did he?"
DUH!!
Just a gaff, yet my gaff about Congress is greater than the one made by the President, you know the guy who taught at Harvard. The guy who LIVES in the WH.
Like 57 States. But Mozart, now he never makes gaffs.
What Mozart fails to understand is the White House wasn't built when Washington was in office, so how could he have made booze there? Simple answer is he could not have, Obama said he did. I know, there I go blaming he back guy again.
Again all of this is over Mozart's understanding.

I would challenge Mozart to validate all of his claims about the GOP as he posted @ 9:41 AM 2/2/15
but why bother, it's just a waste my time. In fact debating/arguing a Radical Progressive is just a waste of time, time that could be better spent working to get elected the candidates who support classical liberalism, not Progressivism and or democratic social-welfarism". Make the next round of elections even more costly to the DNC by losing more seats in Congress, defeating more DNC State Governors, and increasing the number of State legislators controlled by the GOP.

Since I don't listen to Limbaugh on a regular basis, I didn't know he was gone, did you?

Asking the boy troll to present some actual facts, and then back up and stand behind them is like raising the Titanic from the ocean floor, in theory it could be done, but in reality, not so much.

If the boy troll has to go back to a campaign goof, where ALL the candidates say things like that proves he has no real facts about important issues. Should we start listing all the goofy things Reagan and Bush II said after they were already elected? Everyone knows Obama meant "47 states", even Newty said that was stupid thing to attack Obama about.

The White house was BEING built while Washington was in office, and Obama said SINCE Washington, not INCLUDING Washington.

And all Sore Loser would have to do is watch something besides Fox news, or at least come up out of the conservative bubble he lives in and walk around in the REAL WORLD for a few days. He'd see that everything I posted is 100% true.

And if you don't ever listen to Limbaugh, why is it that you repeat what he says pretty much word for word 90% of the time? I'll bet you never watch Fox either. No one ever does, that's how they got those "ratings" they brag about. .

AS for his "Classic Liberalism" one only need to look up the definition to see that it's just a term for what is now called "Conservative".

I could call myself a "Classic conservative" since that is now called "Liberalism" or "PROGRESSive".

What the boy troll has actually done is prove my point that the "titles" have switched since the 1800's. Lincoln would today be a "Liberal" Just like Jesus as he is portrayed in the Bible

Sore loser doesn't even realize he's proven me right AGAIN. Hilarious.

To be clear, this is the agenda the Kochs billion dollars for the next election is pushing:

Here are just a few excerpts of the Libertarian Party platform that David Koch ran on in 1980:

• “We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”
• “We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”
• “We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”
• “We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”
• “We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”
• “We propose the abolition of the governmental Postal Service. The present system, in addition to being inefficient, encourages governmental surveillance of private correspondence. Pending abolition, we call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.”
• “We oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.”
• “We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”
• “As an interim measure, all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion should be terminated immediately.”
• “We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”
• “We advocate the complete separation of education and State. Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.”
• “We condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.”
• “We support the repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.”
• “We support the abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.”
• “We support abolition of the Department of Energy.”
• “We call for the dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.”
• “We demand the return of America's railroad system to private ownership. We call for the privatization of the public roads and national highway system.”
• “We specifically oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called "self-protection" equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.”
• “We advocate the abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.”
• “We advocate the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.”
• “We support an end to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.”
• “We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”
• “We call for the privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.”
• “We call for the repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.”
• “We call for the abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”
• “We support the repeal of all state usury laws.”

If yu are already rich when this happens you MIGHT be OK.

If you are just a wage earner living paycheck to paycheck, not so much.

Gun laws don't keep criminals from aquiring guns, so we should not have THOSE Laws. (actually they aid in punishing the misuse, but don't expect "classic Liberals" like the boy troll to comprehend that)

Laws against Murder, rape, theft, etc. don't completely eliminate those crimes, so why have the laws?

Mozart, Dumbya,

All of the things you say the GOP is going to do, have you forgotten that fact that the DNC lost 80 seats in Congress to the GOP over the last two midterm elections, the majority of Governors are now Republicans and the majority of States legislation's are now controlled by the GOP, due to the GOP promising to do some of the things you listed?

The things they didn't promise are simply typical Radical Progressive scare tactics, like running adds showing seniors eating dog food or black churches burning.

In the most important poll, which was taken just in the past 4 months, your platform was rejected by voters. Like Harley said, is it no surprise then that you oppose voter ID laws? So you can win elections will illegal votes.
Why? Americans are rejecting your policy's.

Look at 2016, who is your front runner and right now only candidate for President.
Hillary Clinton. That's the best the DNC has to offer the American voter!

Look at the GOP, admit it or not they have a diverse field of various views from 16 different candidates. Now there's choice for you.

At 9:09 PM, Anonymous Caprice said...

A diverse field of various views from 16 different candidates? A diverse field of various views?

And that's it. That's always been it.

At 11:39 PM, Anonymous sore loser said...

Honestly Caprice, if they were all the same on every issue, every method, why wouldn't they all have the same poll numbers? So far the DNC has one candidate, a 67 year old former first lady who from what I can tell, has worked little if at all in the private sector to allow her ID with the 99% of us and has zero accomplishments as Secretary of State. I've asked this before, is this who you see as the spokesperson for the future of your political party? Is she the best the DNC has to offer?

Don't forget the Communist Party USA has on their website a statement where they state they plan to work with the DNC to stop the any thing from slowing down the Progressive agenda currently being driven by the DNC.

Doesn't that tweak your interest at all? Doesn't that cause concern for your support of the DNC's agenda along with the election results that I've posted here many times, that just maybe the Majority of Americans DON"T support your positions?

Maybe the majority of Americans are less concerned about tax increases on the rich than you want to be and are more concerned about the growing power and influence of govt in their every day lives?

Maybe the majority of Americans realize that the so called tax cut for the middle class that Obama talks about, is less in a year than what Obama spent for dinner while on vacation.

As I told Mozart, just because most of the people you know favor the the Radical Progressive agenda, doesn't mean the most of the people you don't know don't favor it.

Think about this for a second, 1st define what you think a person has to earn to be rich.
Now ask yourself, has anyone who by your own definition of rich ever crested or given you a job? To the best of your knowledge has wealth ever been CREATED by government, IE didn't create the wealth by taking it from some one else?
How therefore, is wealth created? Don't you want all Americans to be wealthy?
Then why, would your support policy's that inhibit the creation of wealth?

I shared a chart from the govt showing who pays the majority of income taxes, and it's not the middle and lower class income groups. You know what the response to that was? You hater of the poor, why are you asking them to pay more taxes!
Crazy talk!
