November 19, 2013 belongs to Abraham Lincoln. One-hundred and fifty-years ago on this day he came to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to dedicate a new national cemetery on a field that was still drenched in the blood of Union and Confederate soldiers. What he said there really needs no preface:
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this
continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the
proposition that all men are created equal.
Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

The black-nationalist Department of Homeland Security employee who was placed on leave almost four months ago for running a website that espouses the mass murder of whites has still not been fired, an agency spokesperson told National Journal.
The Southern Poverty Law Center first exposed Ayo Kimathi in August, prompting a small media firestorm that led DHS to place the procurement officer on administrative leave with pay pending review. DHS deputy press secretary Gillian Christensen confirmed that his status has not changed and that he is still on leave pending review.
Kimathi, using the online nom de guerre "the Irritated Genie," called for "ethnic cleansing" of "black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors" on his website, which envisioned a massive race war on the horizon. "In order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites—more than our Christian hearts can possibly count," he wrote.
In other postings, he warned that whites and their enablers like President Obama are trying to "homosexualize" black men in order to make them weaker, and suggested that a woman's primary role in life should be to "keep a strong Black man happy." He also seemed to hold anti-Semitic views, claiming in a Facebook post that his website was under attack from a conspiracy of "zionist smallhats, the Uncle Tom koons," and, naturally, "the haters."

Too bad President Obama is skipping the memorial marking the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
Has important teleconference with OFA, followed by a quick 18 holes of golf. Then off to an important fund raiser in Vegas.
How does he handle the pace?
I'm pretty sure a case can be made for the difference between censorship and editing when those are the first comments made about what is considered by many to be the best speech ever made by an American president.
Give it a rest, at least for one day.

As always, a wonderful piece you have written. I visited Gettysburg several years ago and was so moved by what I saw and read about the battle there. One item I read said that Lincoln gave this speech and it was met with complete silence. He thought he had failed as a speech writer and orator and left the cemetary feeling like he had let down the soldiers who died there. It wasn't until the next day that he learned from a newspaper that he had stunned the crowd, leaving them speechless and somber. Newspapers all of the world printed and reprinted the speech.
Later on that same trip, we visited the monuments in DC and while we stood in front of the Lincoln Memorial we realized the impact he had on the whole world.
Our visit to Gettysburg and DC were during the Bush2 administration. It was a balm to my soul to read those words and realize that our country had survived way worst things then the history I was living in.
Thanks for the reminder that today belongs to Abraham Lincoln.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Colorado healthcare exchange has processed applications for thousands of people … and one dog.
Shane Smith, of Fort Collins, says his dog Baxter received a letter informing him that a health insurance account had been opened in his name through Connect for Health Colorado.
Smith had called Connect for Health Colorado to sign himself up for insurance because his old plan was cancelled due to Obamacare.

In Wednesday's CBS poll is that only 7% of the American public want ObamaCare "kept in place." A full 93% either believe that changes are needed to the law (48%) or want a full repeal (43%). This pits President Obama and Democrat lawmakers -- who thus far have refused to make any meaningful changes -- against 93% of the American people and 72% of Democrats.
Moreover, only 12% of Democrats want ObamaCare "kept as is." Another 12% want it repealed.
Yup that's me alright, whining cause Obamacare is a failure, just like Obama is a liar.
