The Persecution of Hillary Clinton

First they came for Hillary Clinton, but I was not Hillary Clinton - so I said nothing....

This is an avenue I rarely travel down. Coming to the defense of Hillary Clinton is not something I am used to (or even comfortable) doing. Although I did support her once she received the nomination from those perpetually clueless Democrats; and although I did manage to make my way to my local polling place to cast my ballot for her on Election Day 2016, it was more a matter of necessity than anything else. I had supported Bernie Sanders during the primaries. The Dems had been offered the most visionary candidate to come their way in eighty years and - true to form - they blew it. They chose to cast their lot with a tired and stale old plutocrat. To this day many of them are still blaming Bernie for Ms. Clinton's loss. Back in August, when I posted on my Facebook page that she was the worst nominee since Mike Dukakis in 1988, I was "unfriended" by over one-hundred people before the sun went down.
Show me a candidate who is unable to defeat an unhinged,  common pervert like Donald Trump, and I'll show you a bad candidate.
This week, under pressure no doubt from Trump and the usual suspects in the house and senate, the Department of Justice has decided to reopen the investigation into Hillary's emails. Although it was proven over a year ago that she was careless with regard to the handling of certain classified documents, former Attorney General James Comey concluded that she had, in fact, done nothing criminal. This unpleasant fact is hardly satisfactory for the Trump Mob.
Let's take a good look at what is now happening: the president of the United States is determined to send a former political opponent to prison. Now ask yourselves the following question: When was the last time something like that happened in this country? The simple answer is that it has never happened. In nearly two-and-a-third-centuries of presidential politics in the dark and strange history of Idiot Nation, not once has the victor in a national election ever sought to bring trumped-up charges (pun intended) against the person who ran against him. The campaign of 1800 between incumbent-President John Adams and Thomas Jefferson was the dirtiest, most bitter political battle in American history. Although the two men wouldn't correspond for many years after, I'm sure it never occurred to Jefferson to send his former friend and ally to the slammer. Old Tom had a helluva lot more class than that.
Not even Dick Nixon ever dared something as atrocious as what is now being attempted by the Donald and Company. Oh, sure, the Trickster was perfectly capable of instructing the IRS to audit the taxes of his "enemies" (the old bastard had enemies everywhere) but he stopped decidedly short of having any of them hauled off to Leavenworth. For all Nixon's flaws, he was no Donald Trump.

The precedent that is apparently about to be established is ominous and deeply disturbing. This is the sort of thing that happens in banana republics; this is the type of behavior to be expected of Orwellian despots.  If these people have their way, it will soon become the accepted behavior of the American president. Isn't that something? Has the thought occurred to you yet that a lot of us might have been on to something in 2016 when we warned our fellow countrymen and women that sending Donald Trump to the White House might not be a terribly neat idea? I knew this administration would be an ongoing constitutional  debacle, but not even I was prepared for the scope of its incompetence and corruption. Quite frankly, it boggles the mind.

As it stands, we'll have at least another year to deal with this out-of-control ignoramus as our commander-in-chief. Don't expect the Republicans to do their patriotic  duty by removing Donald Trump. In the meantime, the damage that he will do to the people of the United States is impossible to assess. This much is beyond a smidgeon of a doubt: 2018 is going to be an extremely interesting year. Brace yourselves.

This is the third biography I've read on the life of Alice Roosevelt Longworth (TR's daughter) and it is by far the best. Sometimes arch-conservative, sometimes flaming liberal, during her long life the only consistent thing about Princess Alice was the fact that she did not give a damn what people thought about her. In this respect she truly was one of the fist modern women. Her father once said to a friend, "I can be president of the United States, or I can manage Alice. I cannot possibly do both."

Here is a link to order it off of

I've always said that Alice's life is a Broadway musical waiting to happen!

I lived in DC for 41 years so I've seen 'em come and go (that's one of the fantastic things about our country) and yet HRC is a criminal. As someone who's a man of the cloth who stayed in DC all his life and worked for the "gummint" for 30 years said to me: if she'd wanted a new server she could have had one as SoS (Secretary of State or shit on a shingle - take your pick) in less than 2 hours. Why didn't she do this? Was she stupid or smaht or what? And yes, this IS idiot nation. Nothing's gonna change. She's laughing all the way to the bank...

No, she broke federal laws in the handling of classified information and it was proven that she was "grossly negligent" with classified data that was indeed likely hacked according to the FBI. Of course that politically inconvenient term was change by Comey's FBI by an anti-Trump tweeting agent to "extremely careless" in the final report.

Do you know what would have happened to me if I had abused my security clearance when I was in the service in the exact same manner she did? Well, I couldn't tell you because I would still be serving my sentence in federal prison right now and not have access to your blog to tell you.

“…the president of the United States is determined to send a former political opponent to prison. Now ask yourselves the following question: When was the last time something like that happened in this country?” ~ Mr. Degan

You are right; it has never happened and should never happen for political reasons. That said, there has never been a presidential political opponent that has so brazenly violated federal laws and endangered national security as St. Hillary has done over the course of our nation. Her crime is not that of merely being a political opponent. She has actually broken serious laws affecting our nation.

She should be tried accordingly, and with the evidence available, extremely likely found guilty of the charges. President Trump should then be magnanimous and show the nation it wasn't about politics by commuting her jail time so that she only has to spend the remainder of her life doing REAL community service and actually helping real people instead for a change.

I voted for Bernie Sanders in the primary. I would have preferred him to Hillary Clinton.

I voted for Hillary Clinton in the general. I vastly preferred her to Trump, and that preference has not changed in the past year.

She was far from the ideal candidate. Yet it is incomprehensible to me that so many people can condemn her as a criminal on such scant evidence. If Ken Starr came up dry in the whitewater investigation (remember, we're not talking about Bill Clinton here); if eight Republican probes into Benghazi led nowhere; if James Comey, a Republican, found no good reason to charge her, then what possible basis can anyone have to claim she's broken all kinds of laws and must be locked up?

Especially when the candidate these people evidently prefer is Trump.

I will vote for Oprah in 2020 instead of Bernie. Bernie let Queen Hillary crap on his face. I bet Mozart will write in a vote for Hillary.

Maybe Oprah will reduce black unemployment like Trump is doing and Obama didn't.

Also if Trump said 9/11 was inside job I would agree with those who say he is insane.

Wow. That's a lot certainty.

Of what? You got me. From reading this I have zero idea of what law she broke, what harm was done to the country, and IF the email was hacked. And if the email was hacked why wasn't it leaked, used against her, or used against the country? There must be some obvious harm or damage someone can show me. IS there?

While she was guilty of irresponsible use of her private server, this is not a crime itself, otherwise she would have been exposed and charged many hundreds of hours of grilling testimony? Is she such a criminal mastermind to make fools of the entire Republican Party? If so, Putin would meet his match.

Now on the other hand, what do you call it when a presidential candidate praises Putin and calls on Russia to hack her email?

What do you call it when a president invited Russians into the Oval Office, leaks HIGHLY classified intelligence to them, AND brags about firing the FBI director to get rid of an investigation?

Who is really doing the harm to the country?

Who committed obstruction of justice? Trump's obstruction of justice is specific, clear and blatant.

Trump admitted to many sexual assaults. Once we follow the money, more crimes may be exposed. Trump is an admitted sex criminal and obviously obstructed justice.

But Trump gets a pass and Hillary is the one we must lock up, correct?

You guys seem to have all the answers. Educate me. Show me the specific law broken, the specific charges to be made, and the evidence proving her guilt.

You surely must know all of this in your certainty on this issue.

I've requested this information before, and never got an answer.

I'll be waiting...

Major Clucky, is there any batshit conspiracy that you DON'T embrace? You don't care about Bernie Sanders.

You SHOULD Be worried about your heroes being indicted for collusion, money laundering obstruction of justice (which is what brought down Nixon) and last but not least TREASON.

The entire GOP and all Trumps lawyers are DESAPRATELY trying to find a way to keep him from speaking directly to Mueller on the record. They KNOW he can't keep his fat mouth shut. He'll hang em all and believe he's testifying against Hillary. LOL

What was that about Bernie again? Heh...heh...

T. Paine. the Hillary "investigations" are OVER. NO EVIDENCE OF WRONGDOING FOUND.

Beating that dead horse just illustrates your desperation. Your heroes are falling.

Dubya, you did get specific answers from me several times in the past, along with the crimes committed by Hillary; you have chosen to ignore them while still self-righteously preening around by pointing to idiot-boy Trump's transgressions in deflection, as if that excuses Hillary. You, sir, are as contemptuous of a liar as she is. Birds of a feather...

I am done trying to engage civilly with you anymore, Mr. Dubya. You only wish to burn everything down and to be as nasty as possible... always. From now on, I will employ the same tactics and tone that you do, albeit without the duplicity.

Clucky, TRY and stay on subject for 5 minutes will you? Your Messiah is about to take a fall. Mueller is calling him to testify, and there are only a few outcomes.

1. He testifies in person, and being unable to keep from gloating and bragging will implicate himself in a number of illegal activities, which he has already done but this is under oath.

2. He will plead the 5th, which only applies to the guilty, and thus implicate himself.

3. He will refuse to comply, committing contempt and obstruction of Justice.

4. His lawyers will issue a written "testimony" which will clearly NOT have been written by Trump, which will prove to be the commission of a cover up, which is obstruction of justice.

There is no way out, Clucky. Distraction, deflection, and "whataboutism" aren't going to stop it. And he'll take the whole KKKlan down with him, because he'll throw everyone under the bus to save his own orange hide.

Clinton’s dodgy dossier is way worse than Sh#tholegate
With thanks to Howie Carr.

Hillary Clinton and the DNC paid big bucks to the dirty tricksters at
Fusion GPS to concoct an utterly bogus anti-Trump “dossier.” Hillary’s
35-page smear was then handed off to corrupt FBI agents and DOJ
employees who were themselves accepting money from either Clinton
cronies or the smear artists at Fusion GPS, who by the way were also
being paid by the Russians at the same time.

And then the crooked FBI took Hillary’s fake dossier to a secret
federal court and used it to obtain a warrant to spy on Clinton’s
opponent Donald Trump and his associates during the 2016 presidential

In his wildest dreams, Richard Nixon never imagined setting up a police state this corrupt.

It's about to come crashing down, Clucky. Trump is going to have to deal with Mueller one way or the other. And Shitholegate" won't help, even as a distraction. We can multitask. It just goes to further illustrate the bigotry and shher ignorance of the Cheeto in Chief.

Now bring up Hillary again. You are the king of "Whataboutism".

Hillary was charged with zero crimes even though the investigation was led by Republican hacks out to destroy Clinton. No doubt Toilet Paper has a long list of what he perceives crimes by Clinton, but lying delusional conspiracy theories don't count as reality.

At 11:27 AM, Blogger T. Paine said...

Paul, "toilet paper" may ironically be an accurate moniker for me as I am continuously having to clean up the crap that folks like you spew, sir. You keep believing in the sanctity of Hillary. The irony is that if Bush or Trump had those same scandals with associated facts involved with them, you would similarly and rightfully be calling for their prosecution too.

Oh wait, you already are with what amounts thus far as totally contrived and fabricated evidence.

And yet you think I am the one supporting "delusional conspiracy theories".... ha ha!

Mr. Paine,

Dubya, you did get specific answers from me several times in the past, along with the crimes committed by Hillary;

No, you did not. You evaded the question like you just did again.

You have not cited one crime supported by charges, admission or evidence.

if Bush or Trump had those same scandals

War based on lies, torture, and pussy grabbing are not scandals?

Trump has boasted of criminal behavior and clearly obstructed justice, yet you see no scandal?

Figures. Your opinions do not count as facts. No wonder you think I'm so nasty. Reality bites. BS whines.

At 8:20 PM, Blogger Jefferson's Guardian said...

Dave, it's apparent that Mr. Paine is nothing more than an opinionated blowhard who cannot differentiate between facts and "alternate facts".

He and his band of cultish numbnuts are still caught up in the hate and non-story of Hillary Clinton, the election loser, yet look the other way when presented with the evidence of war crimes by G. W. Bush, et al, and the untruthful reasons for the attacking of Iraq in 2003.

My god, Mr. Paine couldn't even recall Bush's notorious Patriot Act until I reminded him. [head shaking]

Yes, reality bites - and bites hard. The truth always hurts, but when the pain is too much just blame the rational guy in the room.

At 10:35 AM, Blogger Dave Dubya said...

The Right is about feelings, not facts.

It FEELS good to focus anger and blame on HRC, while deflecting from the travesties of their Orange Julius and the war on democracy by their Party and owners.

Their authoritarian amygdala is hyper-active and the fear/fight/flight mechanism is their primary response to new information and situations. They fear what they don't understand.

And of course the "information" they are fed by their leaders is intended to fuel their anger and fear by blaming liberals and the dreaded "others" for all the evils of the world.

Yes, that is the operating principle of a cult.
