Some Nightmare

David Horsey / Los Angeles Times (November 7, 2013)
`
"[T]he people of New Jersey reelected Christie by a huge margin, even though a majority of them disagree with their governor on issues ranging from raising the minimum wage to gay marriage. New Jersey voters simply like the guy."

From yesterday's Los Angeles Times

Unless he was running against Silas Barnaby or Montgomery Burns, I probably would never cast my vote for Chris Christie. Like a lot of people in New Jersey, I like the guy, too. Even when he's screaming at some poor teacher who asks him to explain his education policy and he admonishes the poor gal to "DO YOUR JOB!" he has this Oscar the Grouch quality about him that is hard to resist; a street-smart curmudgeon. He has more-than-a-few admirable qualities about him, too.

Last year during Hurricane Sandy, he refused to put politics in front of the welfare of the people of New Jersey. When President Obama came to town to offer a helping hand, he gladly embraced that hand without a hint of political embarrassment or self-consciousness. That shows a lot of class. But the sad fact of the matter is, likability aside, Chris is just too much of a stone-cold right-winger for my tastes.

FOR THE RECORD: Were Chris Christie to somehow become president of the United States in 2017 (not that it's gonna happen) I would lose an awful lot of sleep - but not one/tenth the amount of sleep I lost when the half-wit from Crawford, Texas reigned supreme. 'Nuff said?

Terry McAuliffe
You would think that the right wing SCREAM machine would be beside themselves with joy over the victory of this very conservative man. Chris is the most talked-about politician in America at the moment. The story even consigned Terry McAuliffe's election to the governor's mansion in Virginia to the second and third pages in most newspapers. The extreme right is beside themselves alright - that's their natural state - but it's not joy they're feeling today, it's rage - insatiable rage. What's up with that?

To give you just one example, in the LA Times article quoted above, Rush Limbaugh issued forth the proclamation that the governor was not the choice of the voters of New Jersey but (hold onto your hats) THE LIBERAL MEDIA. Wait, it gets weirder. Not only that, but el Rushbo is now predicting that Christie will be the Democratic nominee in 2016. Medications please.

The sad fact of the matter is simply that Chris is not enough of a hater for this crowd. Although he has come out against gay marriage, he believes that we all should love one another - and the gay and lesbian community is included in his equation. Also - GET THIS! - he's been known to reach out to KNEE-GROWS!!!

AWW, SHIT, ESTHER! Did you hear what that goddam, fat EYE-TALIAN  just said? He wants you ''n'  me to go sashayin' round, French-kissin' a bunch of goddam dykes and faggots. Quick, run 'n' git mah ammo box, darlin'!

That's right, class: as delightfully weird as the Republican Party has gotten in the last thirty years, Chris Christie is just not extreme enough for them - not by a wide margin. You couldn't make this stuff up in fiction.

It's not just the extremists on the far right who are unsettled by Christie's victory this week. As expected as it was, the Democrats aren't too happy about this latest chapter in the thrilling adventures of THE MAN FROM TRENTON. The last time one Democratic administration bequeathed the White House to another Democratic administration was on March 4, 1857. They see Chris Christie as an obstacle to that happening on Inauguration Day 2017. They need not worry.

HEY, ABBAAAAAT!!!
Governor Christie will not be nominated as standard bearer at the Republican National Convention in the summer of 2016. If that happens the Tea Party crazies will bolt and start a hot-and-heavy, third party uprising, fatally splitting the right-of-center vote. The Great National Political Realignment is right around the corner - in fact it's already started - and the scenario doesn't look particularly bright for the conservatives. That's the reason they are now moving heaven and earth to try to keep the traditional progressive constituency from voting on Election Day 2016. What do you think those so-called "Voter ID" laws are all about? They're about keeping the ballot out of the hands of WEEDA PEEPLE, BABY! Expect the Republicans to attempt an electoral coup d'tat in the next three years. This should get interesting.

Unless the Democrats really screw up this golden political moment (as they're not unknown to do) they have nothing to fear from the good fortune of Chris Christie. 2016 will be the the equivalent of shooting a school of brain-damaged fish in a leaky barrel. Their luck is hard to believe.

For a right-winger, Chris is as decent as one could ever hope for. That is why he doesn't stand a chance in the Republican primaries. If he is the Dem's "worst nightmare", they should be quite grateful. With nightmares like that, who needs daydreams?

SUGGESTED LISTENING:

Metal Machine Music
by Lou Reed

Here is a link to listen to Lou's controversial 1975 LP, Metal Machine Music, in its entirety. My pal Kevin Swanwick was the only person I ever knew who had a copy of this record. When I first heard it all those decades ago, I thought it was awful. My seventeen-year-old mind was not wired to "get" it then. I get it now. In fact I love it.

An acquired taste to be sure.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: "You know, I regret very much that what we intended to do, which is to make sure that everybody is moving into better plans because they want ‘em, as opposed to because they’re forced into it. That, you know, we weren’t as clear as we needed to be in terms of the changes that were taking place. And I want to do everything we can to make sure that people are finding themselves in a good position — a better position than they were before this law happened.

Keep in mind that most of the folks who are going to who got these cancellation letters, they’ll be able to get better care at the same cost or cheaper in these new marketplaces because they’ll have more choice, they’ll have more competition. They’re part of a bigger pool. Insurance companies are going to be hungry for their business.

So, the majority of folks will end up being better off, of course, because the website’s not working right. They don’t necessarily know it right [now]. But, even though it’s a small percentage of folks who may be disadvantaged, you know, it means a lot to them. And it’s scary to them."

Obama is a lying, still.

This has already happened. The GOP controls the House yet over a million MORE Americans voted for democratic, rather than republican representative. So much for "representative democracy".

The Republican Party exclusively represents the economic elites, and is doing its best to suppress democracy.

And until the public wakes up to that reality, the far Right is winning their war on democracy.

1. Medicare.
2. Medicaid.
3. Tricare.
4. Most of the rest of the civilized world.

Duh. "Of the People, By the People, and For the People" says "People" three times. Have you met people?

"What has happened to the Democratic Party whose arguably 2nd most popular President (after FDR) urged us to 'ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country'?"
We said "Yes we can!" and then got shut out of the healthcare reform debate, so we got a Medicaid expansion, and the neo-liberal Public Exchanges for private insurance and Individual Mandate that Republicans used to pretend to be for.

"Where are the 'classical' liberals? Are there any left?"
What was the classical liberal solution to retiree poverty? Retiree lack of healthcare? Poor people's lack of healthcare? (Spoiler Alert: their failure lead to government programs in the first place)

"Have they all been replaced with the social engineering liberal?"
Leaving it to the Free Market is engineering. It's the kind of engineering that cancels your insurance for getting diagnosed at the wrong doctor, or for having acne before getting cancer.

"Цель оправдывает средства"
It must awful to have to purchase private health insurance coverage on an open public exchange, with minimum standards (as well as the nature of the exchange) helping to ensure both transparency and competition (two things a classical liberal should be for, and two things that are tough to find on the mess of the individual market), provided you aren't already employer-covered, already have individual insurance, are covered under your parents insurance, or are under Medicare/Tricare/Medicaid/etc. Woe!

As I thought I made clear, for a lot of people there isn't much of a choice. Poor? No choice. Preexisting condition? No choice. Kid with a preexisting condition? No choice. Old? No choice.
It's not a choice between "Nanny State" and "Freedom". It's a choice between "something" and "nothing". The freedom to be trapped in one job because your kid has a preexisting condition, and you can't afford to risk switching jobs isn't freedom. The freedom to lose the house to cancer isn't much of a freedom. The freedom to lose the house to cancer even if you started out with health insurance isn't much of a freedom. The freedom to pay more per capita than anywhere else in the world (while covering less of the populace) only to find yourself a victim of rescission when you get sick isn't freedom. It's idiocy.

"Glad we got that out of the way."
Government isn't bad. It's a necessary evil. Government is us, together, doing the things we can't do alone. Dealing with a Market failure is a problem we can treat together that we can't do separately.

And, again, "What was the classical liberal solution to retiree poverty? Retiree lack of healthcare? Poor people's lack of healthcare?"

Really? How does my list lead you to believe I am against Women, Gays, Minorities? Where is your evidence that supports your claim? Or are you playing the racist card? Do you automatically assume that because some is against the nanny state that they are racists?
Why?

For the record I despise corporate, farm, union and welfare subsidies. I am against crony capitalism/capitalists. Like Obama. The deals Obama is making with big corporations is inexcusable, I cant believe a true liberal would support him, if for no other reason than that!

Reread my post, Moe claims that Govt control is good for some people and that we do not have the nanny state. I reply with we are a lot closer to having a central planning govt.run nanny state than he thinks we do. Or is willing to admit. If what is listed is not true, then point that out, but reality check time, GOVT is controlling those choices for us now.

My point, although you seem to either ignore or miss it, is the govt already is controlling our lives, it is choking our liberties to be who we want to be, where we want to spend our money, what we want to eat, who we want for our Dr., what type of health care insurance WE WANT, and on and on. Are you so wrapped up in your hate of anything that is conservative/Tea Party/GOP/ that you refuse to see what is happening to you daily?

Who says the govt needs to monitor and control the size of my soft drink, the amount of trans-fat in my food? I didn't, did you? However, the Govt said they do. And that is controlling your life beyond the needs to protect to poor and sick and gays, and minorities and women. Where did I say the free market is only for rich white men? Where for that matter did I bring up race or gays or women? Is this simply the only way you know to deal with a view that you disagree with?

Are you blind to the reality that the evolution of govt into the nanny state is taking choices away from you? Do you care? Are ok with losing your freedom as long as the rich white men get punished? That's a piss poor exchange, isn't it.

Death panels, another trump card, right? But wait a second, if the govt can tell you that your health insurance isn't good enough, and they can tell the medical industry what they can charge for their services, and they can make a male pay for medical conditions that can only apply to a female, what makes you think that they can not determine what care some one gets and who gets the care? How long can a medicare patient stay n the hospital? Look into that and think if that is in some case signing a death sentence when the patent is force out because the GOVT says they must go. Is the GOP causing that?

Was it President Obama, who told you this? Was that right after he said "Period"?

How much Fox News do you watch to KNOW that what I posted was from them?
And now you blame the Koch's for the things the govt controls in our lives? Are the Koch's believers in govt control and planning? Do the Koch's own and run insurance company's?

And govt controlling the size of your soft drink is not ripping you off?
Or making you buy an insurance plan that included in it's coverage, things you don't need, want or can use? Now the govt is ripping us off and you're ok with that?
Are you saying the only reason for the ACA Tax is because the insurance companies have been ripping us off? You mean it was not because there were 30 million of us without insurance?
How in the world is the ACA Tax ending the insurance ripping us off, when it forces people to buy insurance? Sounds like the ACA Tax is growing the insurance industry business.

We are losing our freedom and liberty to a govt that is growing in it's control of our lives. What is liberal about that?
Interesting how instead of thinking about the loss of your liberty, you accuse those who bring that loss to your attention, of carrying somebody's water. Pretzel logic.

Progressives worship at the altar of big government and believe that government can solve all of societies evils. In reality, government almost always makes things worse (think the war on poverty which encourages dependence on government and discourages independence). We need government for some things, but it is not the universal panacea for all of societies' problems. Progressives have failed and one of the best examples of this is Obamacare.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. Obama’s 60 percent disapproval rating on immigration from the American people is an all-time high for him on the issue and puts him on par with former President George W. Bush’s immigration polling numbers. Obama’s immigration disapproval rating has skyrocketed as he has ramped up his efforts to lobby Congress for the passage of an amnesty—particularly the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” immigration bill.

As the American people have learned more and more about the Gang of Eight bill and the effects which amnesty and a drastic influx of millions of new workers would have on the hurting economy, they have grown more and more outraged with what Washington, D.C., is doing regarding immigration reform."

FEDERAL cabinet has ruled that Australia will not sign up to any new contributions, taxes or charges at this week’s global summit on climate change, in a significant toughening of its stance as it plans to move within days to repeal the carbon tax.

Cabinet ministers have decided to reject any measures of “socialism masquerading as environmentalism” after meeting last week to consider a submission on the position the government would take to the Warsaw conference.

A further document was produced after the meeting that outlines the government’s position.

The Australian has seen part of the document and it declares that, while Australia will remain “a good international citizen” and remains “committed to achieving the 5 per cent reduction” by 2020 of the 2000 levels of emissions, it will not sign up to any new agreement that involves spending money or levying taxes.

This rules out Australia playing any role in a wealth transfer from rich countries to developing nations to pay them to decrease their carbon emissions.

Your favorite throw away line is "blame the black guy" as if black guys can do no wrong and because of slavery, should not be held to the same standards as non blacks. If that is your belief, the you are not for equality, but in fact believe one race is superior to others. That is racism.

When you are faced with a rebuttal to your position, your response is to blame groups of people who do hold the power you claim they have, or former Presidents who are no longer if office. You ignore the lies President Obama has told and continues to tell, about his signature piece of legislation the ACA Tax.

Your response to the failures of the ACA Tax is to claim the GOP/Conservative solution is to let "them die", ignoring the reality that the ACA Tax has started to do exactly that. 4.9 million Americans have so far lost their healthcare insurance since the kick off date of ACA Tax. Ignoring or belittling the alternative plans and compromises that have been offered to the ACA Tax. Or maybe you just are ignorant of them.

You demand answers to your non-sequitur questions, that are nothing but rabbit trails leading away from the continued truth of the failed Obama Presidency. You blame others for Obama's failures.

You are pathologically obsessed with expressing hate towards people you do not know;
Chucky, etc, assuming they are all the same person. Regardless if they are or aren't, "what difference does it make"?

You deny having heard of Saul Alinsky but your following of his rules for radicals is text book. You belittle anyone who calls you a "commie", but have and continue to support economic systems that are communist.

You will not respond to this post, or if you do, it will not be a defense of your positions, but instead an attack on the poster and anyone who is not declared by you to be a liberal.

Wow, Chuckie,

You really are obsessed with me...not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-)

Fear not, far from hating you, I sort of like you. Your fuming rage is a nice contrast to my rational, humor-tinged honesty.

And I agree with you, Obamacare is sorely lacking as a sane and compassionate healthcare system.

Let's join together and demand Medicare for all. Aren't we worth it?

Your groundless accusations need not be refuted, but thanks for your huge list of resentments.

That's very "Right" of you.

"Stop thanking the troops for me: No, they dont protect our freedoms".

Venezuela, a sterling example of the failure of central planning, big govt liberal nanny state socialism, and it’s the people who suffer. Dr.s there say healthcare is collapsing.
Driving the crisis in health care are the same forces that have left Venezuelans scrambling to find toilet paper, milk and automobile parts. Economists blame government mismanagement and currency controls set by the late President Hugo Chavez for inflation pushing 50 percent annually. The government controls the dollars needed to buy medical supplies and has simply not made enough available.

What will Sean Penn say and who will he blame?

The U.S. is still (2011) one of the main leaders in medical advancements and quality care. With an annual expense of $2.3 trillion per year and a population of 311.5 million, its per capita costs are $7,383. American medical professionals receive the highest compensation for their services and provide some of the best care in the world for that compensation, which is the direct result of a free market with competition. Cuba?
Cuba spends $190 million per year on its citizens’ medical bills. With a population of over a little more than 11 million, that comes to about $17 per person per year according to recent figures released from Cuba. Cuba is suffering from the demise of the Soviet Union, which used to provide vast subsidies to Cuba. This what happens when socialism runs out of other peoples money to spend. Cuban patients often bring their own bed sheets, hypodermic needles, food and water to the hospital.
What does Omamacare do to reduce the avg. medical expense? Force people to pay higher cost for their insurance?

"Cuba's Much Lauded Health Care System No Longer Has Even Aspirin to Give Us"
What would Michael Moore say?

Healthcare in North Korea includes a national medical service and health insurance system.[1] North Korea’s government claims that it provides universal health care for all citizens; however defectors and health professionals working abroad with contacts to North-Koreans claim that health services only exist for those who can pay for them. More reason for the USA to go to single payer or Medicare for all, because it works so well in North Korea.

Canada, In response to the rapidly rising costs, provincial governments have raised taxes and RATIONED care, increasing patient wait times. Provincial drug plans have also more often refused to pay for most of the drugs that are certified as “safe and effective” by Health Canada.
Single-payer health care, once lauded by President Barack Obama for its ability to keep health care expenditures down by rationing care, has become prohibitively expensive and inefficient in Canada, according to a new study from the Fraser Institute in 2011.
Has Canada done anything to stop this?

See, govt knows best how to spend our money.

On Nov. 1, sizable cuts were gouged into the federal food-stamp program (or, as it’s now called, SNAP, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), which feeds 47.6 million people, or nearly one in six Americans. In the city, 1.9 million folks get the bulk of their Jell-O and Campbell’s Soup from stamps.

But news has spread among the poor, like leafy green vegetables, that it wasn’t heartless Republicans who triggered the cuts.

Rather, some of the food-stamp cash was snatched to pay for Michelle Obama’s pet project, Let’s Move. What?

It’s come to this. Some 76 million meals a year will vanish from this city — poof! — partly because the president diverted money from SNAP to the first lady’s signature program, part of her Let’s Move anti-obesity initiative — the bean-sprout-heavy, $4.5 billion Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.

When Hugo Chavez came to power in 1998 there were around 18 doctors per 1000 inhabitants in Venezuela. By 2012 this had risen to 58 per 1000 inhabitants.

"Still, the big business rumour mill, er I mean the private English media has repeated the word ‘crisis’ in relation to Venezuela so much, that it seems to be taken for granted. But slightly higher than normal inflation (normal by Chavez’s standards, as it has been quite low, on average, under his management) and a bit of a shortage of milk, is not a crisis. The increasing homelessness in the US is a crisis. ...Venezuela should be able to sue Reuters and the Washington Post and the rest of them for defamation, for lying about the struggle of millions of people and our leaders, but we can’t." - TAMARA PEARSON - VENEZUELANALYSIS.COM

What a minute, they cant do this, its against the law to provide health insurance plans that dont meet the approval of the ACA TAX.

"Health insurer Anthem Blue Cross of California has agreed to a two-month extension of about 104,000 individual policies after failing to give the required 90-day cancellation notice, state Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones announced Tuesday.

The policies had been set to expire on Dec. 31 but will be extended until Feb. 28 for those who choose to re-enroll. Notices informing customers of the extension will be sent out this week, Anthem said." CBS News

Basically, 104,000 individual policies that were suppose to be dumped at the start of 2014 due to Obamcare, will be extended for two months to comply with California’s laws, which violate Federal Obamacare laws.

Talk about a cluster f#ck! All from the most transparent President ever, the smartest man in the room, and yes we should blame the black guy and the idiots who elected him, twice.

Even if they could afford the replacement Obama approved policy's, they still not able to use the $600 million website created by cronies of the White House.

Come on compassionate liberals, what's your plan to fix the mess you created and so faithfully supported, lies and all?
Who are you going to blame?

The most trusted voice in America on Obamacare isn’t the president — or most of the media, Congress or insurance companies. It’s Fox News Channel.

Just 11 percent said that President Obama is the most trusted source of Obamacare information, about half of those who cite Fox, at 19 percent.

Worse for Obama, who has been fumbling over his oft-stated and false promise that Americans will be able keep their insurance under his namesake program, just 35 percent told YouGov.com that they trust his word a lot or some, while 52 percent said they trust him not too much or not at all.

As with many polls about Fox, Democrats trust the cable network’s Obamacare information less than Republicans, but it still stands out as one of the nation’s leading sources on the health care law.

YouGov.com question: Which ONE of the following sources of information about the new health care law do you trust the MOST?

Fox News — 19 percent

Friends and family — 17 percent

President Obama — 11 percent

National Public Radio — 10 percent

Your insurance company — 9 percent

Local TV news — 6 percent

Republicans in Congress — 4 percent

MSNBC — 3 percent

BBC News — 3 percent

CNN — 3 percent

CBS News — 2 percent

NBC News — 2 percent

Obama administration officials — 2 percent

Democrats in Congress — 2 percent

Wall Street Journal — 2 percent

Local daily newspaper — 2 percent

Somebody can't read. The same somebody who refuses to answer the same question I've posed.

Who are you going to blame?

Republicans, for originating the scheme, and Republicans and corpo-dems for obstructing a public option.

Medicare for all is still the most sane and compassionate system of healthcare.

Why waste billions of dollars to middlemen coverage-denying corporations that DO NOT provide care?

So what's YOUR plan, Chuckie?

Yeah, we know. "Let 'em die".

Blame the Black Guy!

"Officials at one one of the nation's oldest and most elite historically black colleges are citing the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as the reason they have cancelled a school-wide affordable health care plan they had offered students.

The official website for Bowie State, a Maryland public school less than an hour's drive from Washington D.C., explains that Obamacare's new regulations would force the cost of the insurance to rise from $50 to $900 a semester.

"The cost of insurance for domestic students will increase to approximately $1800 per year." Tweet This

"Bowie State University has suspended offering health insurance for domestic students for the 2013-2014 academic year," states the school's official website. "Due to new requirements of the Affordable Care Act which will go into effect on January 1, 2014, the cost of insurance for domestic students will increase to approximately $1800 per year."

That works out to approximately $900 per semester. The student health insurance plan had cost students $50 per semester for the 2012-13 school year, according to a cached page of the university's description of the plan. The original link to the description has been deleted.

According to an article in The Bulldog Collegian, Bowie State's official student newspaper, the Director of the Bowie State University Wellness Center said that the university decided it would not be worth it to provide student health insurance at all given how expensive it would be to do so under the new regulations."

"President Obama listened to Republican gripes about his stimulus package during a meeting with congressional leaders Friday morning - but he also left no doubt about who's in charge of these negotiations. "I won," Obama noted matter-of-factly, according to sources familiar with the conversation."

You won, you crapped in your own hat, you laughed at compassionate conservatism, you continue to lie to us, you were the designer of your own train wreck, when you say the canceled policy's were not good enough, you are lying, you claim its the Republican's fault for "originating the scheme", you want single payer, like they have in Cuba and Canada and you want something from me?

What are you willing to give up for our help? What are you willing to admit is a failure, what are you willing to take 100% of the blame for?

If nothing, then remember, "you won"!

P.S. People trust fricking Fox News more on health care than our faux transparent President, who along with his brain trust, created the ACA Tax.

Another liberal excuse for losing proven to be untrue. Democrats and civil rights groups have long argued that voter ID requirements suppress turnout, particularly in poor and minority communities.
Texas voter ID requirements were passed after 2011 elections.

Texas mid term elections 2013 1,099,670 votes cast.
Texas elections 2011 672,874 votes cast.

In Hidalgo County, which is 90 percent Hispanic,

"The cancellations will affect only a small number of people, those who buy individual policies."

In making this claim, the president focuses on the individual market, which he accurately notes covers about 5 percent of Americans. Still, that is about 14 to 15 million people. So far, as of mid November, roughly 4.8 million individual insurance plans have been canceled, with most estimates suggesting that as many as 10 million will eventually lose their current coverage.

But the same conditions that are causing the cancellation of individual policies will eventually result in the cancellation of millions of employment-based policies as well. The only reason that hasn’t happened yet is that the employer mandate was postponed for a year, so employer plans don’t yet have to be ACA-compliant. But they will. Even the Congressional Budget Office estimates that as many as 20 million workers will lose their current employer-sponsored plans. Combine that with those losing individual plans, and more than 30 million Americans cannot keep their current insurance.

It could be far more. As Avik Roy of the Manhattan Institute points out, some 51 percent of the employer-based insurance market will lose grandfathered status and need to make changes to comply with Obamacare provisions. That could mean that, in total, as many as 93 million will lose their insurance. That’s not exactly “a few.”

PERIOD!!

Former Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean questioned whether President Obama has the "legal authority" to carry out the Obamacare fix the White House outlined today:

“I wonder if he has the legal authority to do this, since this was a congressional bill that set this up,” said Dean of Obama's proposed fix.

The former Vermont governor suggested that since the Obamacare website isn't working, the president's signature legislation might fail.

Me too Dr. Dean, I'm trying to find in the Constitution where the power is given to the President to void or change laws passed by Congress, signed by the President, and defamed legal by the Supreme Court. After all, "I am an old-fashioned American citizen who believes in our traditional values of freedom, truth, and justice. When I see our LAWS and government SUBVERTED and twisted into service of the undemocratic, powerful, corporate oligarchy, I must react with a patriotic defense of our values. I strongly oppose the ongoing destruction of what is left of American democracy and shall give voice to our common cause of freedom."

Unless of course, by doing so I blame the black guy.
