Run, Jebbie, Run!

"One does not envy the people in charge of developing the exhibits for the [George W. Bush Presidential] Library. Whoever the poor bastards are I hope they're paid quite handsomely for their efforts. It takes real talent to turn a mountain of chickenshit into a tasty plate of chicken salad."

From The Rant
30 April 2013

It was kind of a disconcerting thing to bare witness to on an otherwise peaceful Sunday morn. The occasion was the sixtieth anniversary broadcast of CBS's Face the Nation, a program which was that network's blatant rip off of NBC's Meet the Press when it premiered in the Autumn of 1954 - a fact that no one even remembers anymore. The moderator, the affable Bob Shieffer, decided to play host to two presidents in separate interviews - the current and the former. The interview with Obama was nothing really earth-shattering; truth be told, in light of what happened next I've practically put it out of my mind. It was the appearance of George W. Bush that captured my attention.

What is it about Dubya? What world is he living in? The man needs to get off the meds he's obviously on and get on something that's going to help him break free of the delusional little world which he is currently inhabiting. He told Bob that as far as Iraq is concerned (you know, the stupidest military blunder in history?) there are no regrets. Isn't that wonderful? A posting on Facebook on October 29 showed a photograph of the hideous twit aboard a plane embracing a serviceman. Here's the photo and caption. The idiocy is spell binding:

My response was instantaneous and without a shred of mercy:

"Yeah, Dubya 'cared about' the troops alright. The half-witted little bastard 'cared about' them so much that he sent them off to fight an illegal, un-winnable war in which over five thousand of them sacrificed their lives. Now he lives in cushy retirement while the vets that he 'cared about' so much are committing suicide at record numbers. Yeah, George W. Bush 'cared about' our troops.  Ain't that a fucking hoot?"

Honestly, you'd be hard-pressed to concoct this stuff in fiction. But as far as the Schieffer broadcast was concerned, the best was yet to come. When asked if his slightly smarter younger brother, Jeb, was going to run in 2016, Bush neither confirmed nor denied. What I thought was interesting was the way he put forward the idea of what a grand president Jeb would be ("He's not afraid to fail"). It's almost as if he was letting the clueless American people get used to the idea. He then said that if Jeb decided to run he would do anything asked of him. If I were Jeb Bush I would call George on the telephone right this minute and order the little thug to leave the country for the next two years. Seriously.

I'd like to be able to tell you that the chances of a another member of that disgusting family occupying the Executive Mansion - for the third time in a generation - are less than zero; honestly I would - but I can't. Since the GOP will have control of both houses of Congress for the next two years you can count on them passing even more restrictive voter suppression laws between now and Election Day 2016. And you can take to the bank the certainty that the right-wing-dominated Supreme Court will declare those blatantly unconstitutional laws perfectly constitutional. Isn't that lovely?

The prospect of two Clintons occupying the White House is weird enough on its own - but three Bushes??? I would need a daily dose of LSD just to get through it.

Every day in every way the situation keeps getting stranger and stranger. The utter ideological implosion of the United States of America is indeed a sad thing to witness. It's going to happen weather we like it or not so we might as well make the best of it. That's the direction we've decided to take and there's no denying the obvious. The good news is that there will be oceans of unintentional comedy to keep us amused throughout the descent into oblivion. At least we have that to look forward to, ay?

SUGGESTED READING:

Coolidge
by Amity Shlaes

This book is obviously written with a bit of a conservative  bias. The author's attempt to portray Silent Cal as a great president doesn't even come close to passing the giggle test in my opinion. Still, Calvin Coolidge was not quite as bad as some of us on the left have made him out to be. In fact he was an interesting guy to read about. My favorite Coolidge story involves a woman sitting next to him at a luncheon. She says to the notoriously reticent president, "Sir, I made a bet with someone that I could get you to say at least three words during our meal. "You lose", he replied without missing a beat. The guy was a laugh riot - in his own quiet way. Thanks to my doctor-in-law, Jack Dermigny, for lending me this one.

With 4.5 million new democrat voters due to Obama his executive order amnesty, the GOP could run FDR and he would lose to the DNC.
That's what I call fundamentally changing America.

No one but actual American citizens are allowed to vote in a national election,(Besides, Reagan called for total amnesty) and the ACA was written by Republicans in the 1970's.

Ah yes, dear Mozart, one of the stupid Americans who believed the lies about Obamacare. How many newspapers have you read so far today?

I wonder how long it would take you to start blaming the GOP for the ACA.
It wasn't too long ago when you claimed that Americans loved Obamacare. How things change after the ass kicking the Dems got in the midterms.
Reagan called for amnesty how long ago for how many illegals? Regardless, calling for and doing an executive order are not the same thing.
"Calling for" means asking the peoples congress take action (which they are not required to do if the people they represent say "don't"), doing executive action is Obama's way to get around the will of the people as expressed in the midterm elections. The results of this election is clear to all except the stupid, dullest pencils in the box. That message was, stop Obama from fundamentally changing America any further!!

Sort of totalitarian of Obama isn't it?

I don't want another Bush to run for office, but I'd vote for him over any democrat that is currently being named as a candidate. Kind of like you holding your nose to vote for Hillary.

Another lie from the democrats uncovered.

Pelosi says she doesn't know Jonathan Gruber and that he didn't help write our (ACA) bill. 11/13/2014

On November 30th 2009 Krugman wrote about the CBO report, relying on Gruber’s analysis. He, too, concluded it was “good news for reform advocates.” That same day, Harry Reid took to the floor of the Senate that same day, saying “just a few days ago an MIT economist — one of the nation’s foremost economists — a man by the name of Jonathan Gruber, analyzed our bill and concluded it will help Americans pay less and get more.”

Reid read from the piece on the floor of the Senate, saying that it provided substantiation from Gruber “who is one of the most respected economists in the world” that the Senate bill would reduce the deficit. Nancy Pelosi touted “the Gruber analysis” on the Speaker’s website.

The Democrats drafted the final ObamaCare bill in secret and released it only 72 hours before a midnight Christmas Eve vote!.

Before, during and after those 72 hours, the Democrats universally and pathologically lied that the government was not taking over the health insurance industry, the program would lower the deficit, there was no death panel, we could all keep our plans and doctors, and save $2,500 on our health insurance. There were also several dozen lesser lies like the ones Gruber chuckled over in those videos.

Obamacare was the worst fraud ever perpetrated by our government on the American people – bar none.

Not only has Professor "Goober" Gruber exposed the venality of the Obama administration and its great leader, but he has also laid bare the arrogance, elitism and overweening hubris of progressive/liberal philosophy.

Gruber set forth the basic tenets of that philosophy when he assumed the mantle of moral and intellectual superiority that allows him and his ilk to decide what is best for society, without regard, or rather with complete disregard, for what people might actually want, support or vote for.

This elite knows best, and you're going to get it, whether you want it or not.

This approach has dominated political theory for the 70 years or more, and brought us in the West to the sorry welfare and dependency state that exists today. Its underpinnings probably stem back to the Enlightenment, Rousseau, et al, and are encapsulated in Paine's "Age of Reason".

As Paul Johnson so pointedly sums up his book, "The Intellectuals", in its final sentence: "The worst of all despotisms is the heartless tyranny of ideas".

Excerpt from progressive think tank Roosevelt Institute...

Was too long to paste entire article. Can read it at

http://rooseveltinstitute.org/new-roosevelt/obamacare-health-insurance-subsidy-not-health-care-reform

--------------------

"Any real reform which cuts costs would be far less profitable. So government has, in effect, made a grand bargain with the insurance companies. Force healthy people to pay premiums. Yes, they knew there would be a trade-off; they’d have to take some unhealthy people. But, contrary to the cheerleaders for Obamacare, giving these people insurance via subsidization on the part of the healthy part of the population is not synonymous with paying directly for HEALTH CARE. As anybody who has had regular experience with a health insurance company can attest, read the fine print of the policy. It doesn’t follow that you’ll get the health care provision you assumed you would receive when you were paying those expensive monthly health insurance premiums.

Consider a recent example. Aflac offers a one-time payment program for breast cancer. Does this mean that a patient would receive supplemental payments to cover the costs of cancer treatment in the event that the existing plan would not cover everything? No, it doesn’t. The person concerned gets a one-time payout of $X if he/she is diagnosed with cervical cancer, $Y if he/she gets breast cancer, $Z for pancreatic cancer, etc. One wonders who is actually writing these policies and what sort of ingenious Wall Street engineering is behind it.

We will need to reduce, rather than expand, the role of insurance. Nutrition, exercise, education, diet and public safety may now be more important than care in producing further advances in longevity and quality of life. Expanded health care provision is a worthwhile and genuine health care reform. We want to ensure that the key components of a civilized life — including health care — are available to all, regardless of their money income. Unfortunately, Obamacare does nothing to help achieve this objective."

First of all Mozart if Obamacare is such a great idea, why are you now giving the GOP credit for writing it?
Secondly, how about some proof to back up your claim that Dole wrote it in the 1970'2.
Thirdly, if the GOP wrote it, how come not one member of the GOP congress voted for it?

In order to pass the ACA it had to be lied about and senators had to be bribed to vote for it. Review the events surrounding the senators of NE and LA voting for the ACA.

No Dubya, the reason no Republic voted for Obamacare is they were not taken in by the lies the author of the ACA now admits were told.

Pretty simple.

Romney is not a Conservative, regardless of what he or what you say. Just like you claim Obama is not a liberal. I think he he is a liberal, the most liberal President in our history. I think that he had complete control for two years to put his agenda into place. We now know that what conservatives were saying about the center piece of his agenda, ACA, had to be lied about to get support from his own party to pass it. That it ripped off $500,000,000 from Medicare. A rip of which you and others lap dogs blamed the GOP for.

Interesting how fast you defend Obama but when trapped in a corner you claim he's not a liberal.

Then you liberal excuse number 13
It's the GOP's fault.

My advise to you Dubya is to start drinking heavily till Dec 2016.

No surprise about Gruber spilling the beans on Ted Kennedy the "Liberal Lion lol lol" ripping off the Federal Government's Medicaid program of 500 million dollars. I wonder how many poor people on Medicaid died because their coverage suffered from it. The Liberal elite wants that kept under the rug with so many other of their dirty deeds and lies.

Letting that poor young woman Mary Jo drown (who he got licquored up and was trying to bone) after he drove his car off the bridge at Chappaquiddick, fleeing the scene without trying to rescure the woman, and not reporting the incident to the authorities till the next day shows what a dirt bag Ted Kennedy was. A black man doing that would be in prison for the rest of his life.

Ted Kennedy is also responsible for our immigration problems because of his 1965 immigration bill that increased the flow of immigrants from third world countries by eliminating quotas and allowed for "anchor babies," citizenship for whole families simply because a woman birthed a child on American soil. Without a doubt, Ted Kennnedy did more to destroy our nation than Benedict Arnold!

Ted's grave is on my bucket list of places where I will be taking a huge dump, as soon as I retire and get the chance.

At 11:27 AM, Blogger De_Bill said...

Gruber didn't "spill the beans" about anything. He was merely commenting on the fact that part of the effort to get the ACA passed relied on NOT pointing out the fact that insurance works by paying out to people who need services with money paid into it by people who weren't in need of the services at the same time.

It's no different than how car insurance works. You pay your premiums, then when you get into an accident, you get a check to fix your car. The insurance company is just TRANSFERRING the money paid to it by people who DIDN'T have an accident.

He was making the point that getting the ACA passed relied partly on the general public's not understanding that is how ALL insurance works.

He and the Obama administration didn't create that misunderstanding, they just had to acknowledge its existence and take it into account to get the job done.

Hey Harry,

That explains why Romney NEVER went after Obamacare in the 2012 election. He knew how Mass was funded. You can't give hundreds of millions of dollars to every state every year to subsidize it and keep it solvent.

And Romney said over and over Mass care is NOT sustainable on a federal level. Now we all know why. There are not enough taxes in the universe to fund fluster cucks like this!

I'm sorry if you can't understand that the people who drafted the law decided they had enough to do without also educating the public about what should be blindingly obvious to anyone actually interested in how insurance works.

The truth is, the only real objection the right had to the ACA was the desire to deny Obama a legislative victory in his first term. "My country has to deal with the unfinished business of bringing 11 MILLION UNDOCUMENTED men, women and children out of the shadows and give them the dignity they deserve," said Biden.

First of all the 11 million here illegally, further they have broken the law.
Next, if you think unemployment is bad now for the those in poverty and unable to get a job, wait until 11 MILLION criminals come out of the shadows looking for work and the free stuff the liberal plantation offers.

The poll taken on 11/4/2014 shows Americans think your plans, programs, and leadership sucks, big time, and threw you out of power. It's the ONLY one that counts.

Sucks to be you!

Hope you stick around Red State Fred and give us further insight to Marvelous Mary's attempt to keep her seat in the Senate.

He got what he wanted by lying to the public and using bribes to secure votes from his OWN FIGGIN PARTY!! That's how bad a plan the ACA is and his own party knew it then, and they knew in the election of 2010 and they ran like a scalded cat from it and Obama in 2014.
Just ask Red State Fred about Senator Mary, what she got for her vote.

Chuckie thinks I envy the Kochs, but not Soros, or some such illogical ignorance. I'm really quite content and happy with my life. Chuckie is too angry and hateful to ever understand.

Chuckie is the kind of stooge the elites love. They have him shilling for only their interests, as his narrow hateful little brain believes deep down that HE too, will be rich. And the only reason he's NOT rich is because the evil liberals have ruined everything. As noted liberals are the scapegoats of the American Fourth Reich.

This is all delusion of course. It is his own desperate "Hope for change" that will never happen. Just like all that "freedom" the Republicans will bestow upon us.

Your internet access privileges will be removed if you don't comply with the rules...

And what rules does me mean? He can't show us a single "liberal rule" over the internet. NOT ONE.

Chuckie has it backwards, of course. He wants telecoms to decide what access we have to information. He wants us to pay more money to them for access we have for free now. We have an open internet and it is a public utility.

Chuckie wants none of that.

As with Social Security, Chuckie's cult wants to privatize and surrender our public domain to corporate control. We the corporations over we the people.

"Al Gore invented the internet".

Yeah, and Chuckie is such an informed citizen, right?

George Orwells' 1984 is for real in 2014, you dumb subjects of the State!

Ironically, Chuckie embodies "Ignorance is strength" as he misunderstands Orwell, an open socialist.

Want to see what 1984 really looks like?

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we're really talking about peace.” - George W. Bush

There you have it. The Orwellian "War is Peace".

Now all we need is "Freedom is slavery" under corporate rule. No minimum wage, no unions, no public healthcare, just more wealth flowing up to the corporate elites.

The servants of mammon are his masters. Chuckie is their dupe and chump, serving as the most useful of idiots.

Burke Beu — This Democrat Is Giving Up on ObamaCare

I grew up in a Democratic family. I have been a registered Democrat since age 18, a Democratic candidate for statewide office in Colorado and a party precinct captain in that caucus state. I’ve volunteered for numerous Democratic candidates and contributed to party causes and campaigns….

I voted for Barack Obama in 2008, then lost my job in the Great Recession. I was lucky; my brother lost his job and his house. I survived on part-time jobs while paying out-of-pocket for my health insurance.

I voted for President Obama again in 2012, then received a cancellation notice for my health insurance. This was due to ObamaCare, the so-called Affordable Care Act. However, I couldn’t afford anything else….

ObamaCare is a failure. For anyone who thinks this is a misprint because no Democratic activist would make such a comment, let me add that it is too big, too complicated and too expensive. Without a public option within its network of exchanges, ObamaCare is a giant blank check to the insurance companies that pushed it through Congress. It punishes responsible consumers like me and treats younger individuals as fools who are expected to pay the bills while not paying attention….

ObamaCare is an outrageous combination of private-market inflation, government bureaucracy, excessive mandates and a ridiculously delayed implementation schedule. When the thing finally kicked in, it hit hard—and there is plenty more pain on the way….

We Democrats need to get over ourselves, start anew on a national health-care policy, and return to our progressive principles. We claim to be the party of the underdogs, but on ObamaCare we simply catered to a different set of fat cats….

When the next Congress convenes in 2015, Democrats need to work with the new Republican majority, repeal ObamaCare, override a presidential veto if necessary, and start from scratch on health-care reform.

ObamaCare is too anti-freedom. It is a top down dictate of what the people must do to fulfill dreams of the big government soul.

Democrats and Democrat programs always have a "Gruber" component in that they pivot around the concept that the voter is too dumb to be left to his own will and he must yield to the "greater good" as dictated by a few elites who went to Harvard or perhaps Princeton.

The types and prices of goods and services can never be determined by the people, they are too dumb. They must be dictated to the people in the form of government programs - or else.

I grew up in a Democrat family, and I gave up on the entire DNC, because it dawned on me that the driving force behind the DNC is controlling people by bullying and constantly promising things they have no capability of delivering and then when their policies fail, scapegoate the GOP or anyone who is not the DNC elite including the DNC base itself.

It's an utterly elitist party where you're expected to worship the party elders as if they're above reproach while they get rich off your hopes and dreams in return for nothing real.

And if you object, they call you stupid, racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. a bunch of nut jobs while their policies enslave their base forever living on the Liberal Plantation. They throw just enough crumbs to the plantation in exchange for their vote.

I utterly despise the DNC for their character and tactics.

The are truly and evil party, as bad as they come.

Do you believe Hillary would appoint a physician to be secretary of HHS if she is elected as President?

I do remember when Hillary Clinton was appointed by her husband during his Presidency to oversee healthcare reform.

She excluded medical professionals such as physicians and nurses from her task force, as she deemed them to be "special interests".

Her reform was drawn up by lawyers and policy wonks, so I would seriously doubt that she would use physicians in her Presidency for health care policy.

Democrats think lawyers know everything, and they do not need any input from people who actually work in the fields they try to reform.

Three years of law school provides you with all encompassing knowledge of everything in the Democrat elitist mindset where the masses are just too dumb to know whats best for them.

Obamacare is working as designed, albeit a bit too slowly.

The law was never intended to produce universal coverage, much less a savings of $2,500 (promised ad infinitum by the President) per family.

It was intended to redistribute wealth from the middle class to the poor and the great tide of lllegal immigrants soon to be on the dole and new members of the Liberal Plantation, thus creating a permanent underclass of millions of reliable Democrat voters.

Just watch the Gruber videos - improving health care and making it more affordable were the last things the Democrats wanted.

What they wanted was certain, perpetual, power.

Reagan, Bush also acted alone to shield immigrants

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's anticipated order that would shield millions of immigrants now living illegally in the U.S. from deportation is not without precedent.
Two of the last three Republican presidents — Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush — did the same thing in extending amnesty to family members who were not covered by the last major overhaul of immigration law in 1986.

There was no political explosion then comparable to the one Republicans are threatening now.

A tea party-influenced GOP is poised to erupt if and when Obama follows through on his promise.

So its OK if a Republican does it. Yeah. If they're not racists, then they prove to be ignorant hypocrites.

Vote RepubliCON. Time for more deregulation and tax cuts for the rich. It worked so well for the crash of '08 and Great Bush Recession.

More, please.

A study at University College London in the UK has found that conservatives' brains have larger amygdalas than the brains of liberals. Amygdalas are responsible for fear and other "primitive" emotions. At the same time, conservatives' brains were also found to have a smaller anterior cingulate -- the part of the brain responsible for courage and optimism.

No wonder they hate and fear science.

This explains why Sore Chuckie cowardly hides behind multiple names.

Theirs is the hate, and fear, that fuels fascism.

Why Dubya, how "original" of you. I guess this explains why liberals such as you supported Hamas in the recent Israel Gaza conflict? Liberals ARE the American 1st Reich.

BTW I noticed when you are confronted with the complete story behind amnesty by Reagan and Bush, you quickly go to "how happy you are", like I give a rat's ass how happy you are.

I can only assume you're happy because you got a Republican Gov for next 4 year. That Mozart got a new Senator( a woman Republican!!), and that Reid will no longer rule the Senate.

You know what Dubya, I can give you a quote from a research done that shows how the liberal mind is wired up wrong. So what? All you are doing is trying to lessen the sting from the ass kicking the DNC just got. Or are you saying that the majority of Americans based on the election of 11/4/14 are "primitive reptilians"?

How very elitist of you Dubya, to feel you are superior. Let me remind you, you swing a mop at a corrections center in eastern Michigan, a job that the 11 million new democrat voters will do for 1/3 less than you are paid. So bring them on in, the Chamber of Commerce and BIG business and corporations everywhere will thank you. Idiot.

Just remember as you stew in your own stool, the only poll that counts is the one that America just took on 11/4/14. It shows they want the GOP to run the country and to stop Obama transformation of America.

Sucks to be Duyba, still.

What I do care about his how you dismiss the results of the nation wide poll taken 11/4/2014. You, the DNC, Obama, the ACA and liberals have been rejected by America.

You slight the results of the election and the voters with comments that show yourself to be the smug liberal elitist that most liberals are. You want to quote the results of research about conservatives? Go right ahead, I'll give you research that shows liberals are liars.

Don't forget Dubya, you work in an eastern Michigan corrections facility doing a job that the 11 million new democrat voters would do for 80% less than you are being paid right now.

So tell Dubya, who is looking after your best interests, liberals, Obama, the Chamber of Commerce, BIG business, or corporations who want the 11 million low wage workers infused into the work place or the Conservatives who only want the law to be enforced and by doing so, protect the American work force?

That you do not realizing this is the future for you, speaks volumes about your perception abilities.
You want to protect "the truth from false Authoritarian(why the capital A?) accusations". Yet you ignore the lies that were told and the bribes paid in order to get the votes to pass the ACA. You ignore the truth when works against your liberal agenda, you bring up GWB as does Tom, as if by doing so you win points in a debate.

The truth is Mozart, you no longer can believe the lies you were telling yourself about Obamacare.

Gallup poll
"As the Affordable Care Act’s second open enrollment period begins, 37% of Americans say they approve of the law, one percentage point below the previous low in January. Fifty-six percent disapprove, the high in disapproval by one point.

Americans were slightly more positive than negative about the law around the time of the 2012 election, but they have consistently been more likely to disapprove than approve of the law in all surveys that have been conducted since then. Approval has been in the low 40% or high 30% range after a noticeable dip that occurred in early November 2013. This was shortly after millions of Americans received notices that their current policies were being canceled, which was at odds with President Barack Obama’s pledge that those who liked their plans could keep them. The president later said, by way of clarification, that Americans could keep their plans if those plans didn’t change after the ACA was passed.

The current 37% reading comes on the heels of last week’s midterm elections, in which Republicans won full control of both houses of Congress. Already, party leaders are discussing efforts to repeal the unpopular law."

The other thing you are having a hard time coming to grips with is the fact that there are more than just one person posting views in opposition to yours,

To find that out, all you have to do is look at the map of locations of the posters linked to my name. If all the posters were one person, there would be just a single dot on the map. But that is not the case.

I know this past week has been a slap of reality in your face, but I have complete faith in your ability to live in the real world. If you want to.

Bob Schieffer "dumbstruck" by Obamacare adviser's remarks
NOVEMBER 16, 2014, 11:24 AM|

CBS News anchor Bob Schieffer said Sunday morning that he was “dumbstruck” by the controversial comments by Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber, arguing that if the law is as bad as Mr. Gruber says, he should have no problem returning the money he made off of it back to the American people.

Jonathan Gruber, an MIT economist who was paid $400,000 to help shape Obamacare, said during an October 2013 appearance at the University of Pennsylvania that the “lack of transparency” and “stupidity of the American voter” were politically advantageous in getting the law passed. Though the comments are from last year, footage documenting them was picked up by news outlets this week.

Mr. Schieffer played another clip during his commentary segment on “Face the Nation” that showed Mr. Gruber making the claim that Obamacare was purposely “mislabeled.”

“Calling it a tax on insurance plans rather than a tax on people, and we all know it’s really a tax on people who hold those insurance plans,” he said in the 2011 clip.

Mr. Schieffer said it’s a “sorry state of American politics” when people can take money for something they believe in so little, arguing that maybe it’s time to give back the $400,000 Mr. Gruber made.

“I’ll be honest, while I favor health insurance, I am not wild about the new plan and how it became law either,” Mr. Schieffer said. “But here is my question for Mr. Gruber. If all this was as bad as you say, why did you take the money you earned as an adviser, nor is it too late to give it back?

If this huge influx of mostly low-skill workers provides some benefits to the economy as a whole — especially by keeping our workforce young, in contrast to an increasingly geriatric Europe and Japan — it also threatens to depress further the wages of blue-collar Americans and put strains on an already overburdened safety net.”

We are like children who don’t understand what is best for us.

We need experts such as Jonathan Gruber to make decisions for us.

If we are too “stupid” to agree with them, they can use our ignorance to deceive us and enact policies we would never otherwise support.

And if we’re too stupid to catch the deception, well, that’s our problem.
