Safely Under the Rug

What is happening this week in D.C. is barely fathomable. It was my naïve belief  that when the former president and future federal inmate finally blew town on January 20, things might lighten up jus a bit and we might all be able to experience a vague semblance of "normality" (like, say, the way things were when Dubya occupied the executive mansion). As seriously twisted as that time was, I found myself at times feeling a sense of teary-eyed nostalgia for the Age of Bush 43. All bets were off when the Trump clown car arrived in town.

This week a resolution was passed in the House to form a bipartisan committee to investigate what actually led up to the violent insurrection on January 6 that resulted in the deaths of five people. Unfortunately this proposal has yet to pass the senate, which needs a two/thirds majority to go through; and since the Dems only hold that body by the slimmest of majorities (vice-President Kamala Harris being the tie-breaking vote) it's not bloody likely to pass. The Republicans don't want the American people to know the truth of what happened on that day of infamy. This only tells me that some of them - and perhaps a whole lot of them - were in on the scheme. The fact that so many of these jackasses came equip with certain devices (like plastic hand cuffs for instance) tells me that this was a major conspiracy on a grand order. What gives?

Why is the GOP spending so much energy and credibility expressing their loyalty to the likes of Donald Trump? Are they not thinking
long term? Are they not able to understand that he - and three of his offspring - are being investigated by the Southern District of New York for serious criminal financial fraud? Has it not penetrated their soft little minds that, four years from today, Donald Trump may very well be waking up each morning in a federal prison cell - and that the political careers of every man and woman who were stupid enough to attach their wagons onto his clown car will be permanently destroyed? This makes me wonder if they don't give a damn about the answers to those questions, and that they have a far more sinister plan for holding on to power. Paranoia on my part? Perhaps. Perhaps not. We'll see.

What these knuckleheads fail to comprehend is that the truth will come out eventually. And when I say that, I don't mean in fifty years time, I mean very soon. Every investigative body of our government is looking into this matter with a finely- tuned microscope. The sun is gonna shine, baby! Lawyer up, kiddies.

The Peter Sellers Story: I Am not a Funny Man

People who make their names acting funny tend to be a troubled lot. Peter Sellers was the most disturbed of them all. A brilliant and tragic comic actor.

A guy like Trump could make anyone look better, even a dunce like Bush. Americans got a D for electing Bush they totally failed when they elected Trump. The shadow of Trump will hang over our politics for a very long time. What a waste of time. Biden should get done what he can while he still has a slight majority.

The Republican Party has been almost totally assimilated and captured by the radical right Trump Cult. They are the party of insurrection.

Their white nationalism and fanatic loyalty to their Leader and his Big Lie have taken the country to the brink of fascism.

These enemies of democracy and equality are relentless, as shrinking remnants of our democracy are actively being severed by Trump's on-going coup.

Democrats and their fake news cohorts are labeling the Jan 6 protests where three Trump supporters died and another was shot dead as the worst attack on the US Capitol since the War of 1812.

This is of course a complete lie.
Here is a list of several violent bombings and shootings inside the US Capitol in the last century:

In 1915 a Cornell University professor, Frank Holt, blew up the Senate’s reception area with a suitcase filled with three sticks of dynamite.

In March 1954 Puerto Rican nationalists shot five US Representatives from the balcony of the House of Representatives.

In March 1971 the Weather Underground bombed the men’ washroom in the Senate chamber.

In November 1983 a bomb planted just outside the Senate did not lead to any casualties, but it did blow out a wall.

In 1998 a lunatic went into the US Capitol and murdered two officers, Detective John Gibson and Officer Jacob Chestnut.

Democrats know they are lying but keep repeating this same lie.

The radical Right clings to false equivalence.

Only ONE attack on the Capitol was an attempted coup. Period.

"Look! What about over there?" is their only defense of their treachery and treason.

A coup IS the worst possible attack on the Capitol.

Change my mind.

LOL!!! Looks like Sybill has changed his name again!

"Fake News" = Anything conservatives are too embarrassed to admit.

Alsoi funny that he has to go back over 100 years to TRY and make some ridiculous comparison in a lame attempt to clear trump of TREASON.

And none of those people were called upon by an outgoing President WHO JUST LOST THE ELECTION IN A LANDSLIDE to storm the Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the legally elected government of the USA because his ego wouldn't allow him to admit he lost.

Prove me wrong.

Dave calls the past bombing of the capital and the shooting of Congressmen while in session not an attack, not an attempted coupe. What were they then? Ice cream social?

Anyone know what are the charges against the people being held in jail for actions on 1/6? Is coupe one of the charges? Is treason, is insurrection one of the charges? Waiting.
Dave's limited IQ just exposed

"If you didn't know the footage was from January 6, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit".

"Is coupe one of the charges?"

Someone very stupid and dishonest can't tell a coup from a normal tourist visit.

Another can't tell a coup from a car.

This insurrection vs tourist visit narrative is the most obscene gaslighting trolling these idiots can manage.

The F kinda tours do these people go on that involve erecting gallows, placing pipebombs the night before the tour, and oh yeah, literally breaking down doors and windows into the freaking building?

Lazy lunatics.
