To put it in a nut shell, the problem is not voter fraud (an they never tire of reminding us. The problem is the simple fact that too many people with dark skin are exercising their precious right to cast their ballots. Republican politicians see the writing on the wall, and they're not particularly thrilled by what they're reading. These people know that, because of the ever changing demographics of the American political landscape - and given their extremist and racist policies - in a few short years they won't be able to win national elections and longer. Instead of adjusting their worldview to fit with this new and undeniable reality, they would have us turn back the clock to the bad old days when "those people" were not allowed at the ballot box.
This is a serious constitutional crisis, people; as serious as any we have faced in a very long while.
It started a few years ago when some of the geniuses on the Supreme Court watered down the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in order to make voting more difficult to the traditional progressive constituency (minorities and young people). While they have not outright banned black people from voting (YET) they have made participating in the electoral process for them increasingly difficult and strenuous - as some cities with a high percentage of African Americans have decreased the amount of polling places drastically. In 2016 there were twenty-five of them in Milwaukee. In 2020 there were four. My belief is that had the last election been equally fair for minorities as it was for white people like me, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris would have won by an even larger margin than they did.
This is not the way it's supposed to be in the United States of America. President Biden is proposing a new law (named for the late, great John Lewis) that would make our voting laws even stronger than they were before the Supremes gutted them a few years ago. America is shifting culturally - that is an undeniable fact. But while the change has been frustratingly slow, it will assume glacier proportions if the extreme right wing of this country has their way. We need to move forward - not backwards. That is why we call ourselves "progressives".

This is a typical tactic for Republicans. If they can't win outright they shut down the playing field. They do the same with abortion. They can't win the issue outright so they shut down abortion clinics making it impossible for a women to get an abortion. This happens on the State level and the only way to stop it is to take it to the Supreme Court, which is easier than getting these red necks voted out of office.
Voter suppression has been an issue for decades, but despite all the talk about it little has been done, in fact, laws protecting voter rights have been discarded. It's hard to imagine why Americans can't fix this simple, basic right. I guess it's because it effects minorities and the rest of us don't feel our voting rights are under attack. It's sad that Americans won't stand up for their fellow Americans.

There have been a backlog of court cases. You have not been doing your research. Remember, the Supreme Court picks the cases it hears. That invites bias. The Supreme Court never said the 1965 Voting Rights Act was not constitutional, or not necessary in its time. The Supreme Court simply said it was no longer necessary, which is puzzling considering the courts are full of cases.
Where are the court cases, lower courts will do, claiming voter suppression, plaintiffs and defendants? If this has been an issue for years surely they would be cases through out the court system. Resolved and still in the dockets. It's puzzling that no individual is standing up and claiming their vote was suppressed.

According to public health officials, people who are immune compromised should not necessarily be vaccinated (or excluded), despite what President Biden* said, but should discuss individual risk vs. benefit with their physician.
Likewise, since the FDA says there was no evidence in studies as to what happens with pregnant women, they should discuss risk vs. benefit with their physician and not necessarily automatically get vaccinated.

Migrant families coming across the border into Texas amid a new illegal immigration wave are testing positive for COVID-19 at a much higher rate — up to 10 times higher in some quarters — than the positive test rate among the U.S. population.

New audio of phone call that vindicates Trump was DELETED by Georgia investigator, found in her ‘trash’.
he Washington Post issuing a major correction to a story they ran in early January where they accused Trump of demanding that a Georgia investigator ‘find the fraud’. Their correction last week admitting that, according to the newly unearthed recording, Trump never said that.
Now we are learning more about the audio of this phone call that was unearthed last week, and it turns out it was deleted by the Georgia investigator herself and found in the trash can of her device:
CNN – Officials in the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office located a recently released recording of former President Donald Trump’s call to a state investigator in a trash folder on her device, a state official familiar with the situation confirmed to CNN.
The discovery of the call comes after state officials originally told CNN that they did not think audio of the call existed.
The audio file of the December 23 call between the former President and investigator Frances Watson was discovered as the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office responded to a public records request. The personal familiar spoke with CNN on the condition of anonymity to describe the internal process.
Watson declined comment to CNN through the Georgia Secretary of State’s press secretary.
Watson told CNN affiliate WSB-TV’s investigative reporter Mark Winne that she had recorded the December call from Trump for posterity.
“It’s not every day, that probably will never happen again in my lifetime,” Watson told WSB.
It is still not clear why Watson moved the audio of the call to her trash folder, but Watson told Winne that even though she was surprised Trump called her, she did not perceive any pressure from his phone call.
I would say it’s highly suspicious that Watson would delete the call and then tell no one about it, especially when the audio would vindicate Trump from the false accusations being reported in the news.
Makes one wonder if Watson, herself was the source of the initial reporting to the Washington Post and then lied about it to damage Trump and then deleted the audio to cover it up. Seems likely.
The Washington Times has reported that migrants who are eventually tested show coronavirus infection rates as high as 25%.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has called the border crisis a 'humanitarian disaster' as COVID cases surge among teens held in a hastily constructed federal holding facility for child migrants with no drinkable water.
