Chauvin Faces the Music

The photograph on the front page of this morning's New York Daily News spoke untold volumes. Devin Chauvin, the disgraced, ex Minneapolis cop looked stunned when he was sentenced to twenty-two and a half years in the big house for the brutal murder of George Floyd thirteen months ago. In my opinion, the guy got off light. With good behavior he could be out free as a bird by the year 2036. By that time, he'll be two years younger than I am now. What kind of punishment is that? That's no punishment at all. They should have thrown the book at the murderous little thug. Floyd's death was cold-blooded murder - nothing more, nothing less

The images of the nine-plus minutes that Chauvin leaned into George's neck are ingrained into our collective memory forever. We will never be able to erase the sound of George pleading for his life and calling out for his deceased mother from our minds. The only good thing to come out of this man-made tragedy is the fact that a revolution of consciousness overcame America at that moment. After the murder of George Floyd in broad daylight we can only hope and pray that America will never be the same again. Fortunately for posterity (and justice) the entire incident of George's killing was captured on a cell phone video by a teenaged girl who happened to be in the wrong place at the right time. She has since been awarded a Pulitzer Prize in photo journalism. Isn't life strange?

While the extreme right wing continues to portray the Black Lives Matter folks as a "terrorist" organization (and I consider myself one of them), this social movement shows no signs of ebbing anytime soon. For all of my life, I was always of the opinion that race would always be the elephant in the American room. I'm more optimistic today than I've ever been in my life. Perhaps we're on the verge of finally rounding this corner - maybe not in our lifetimes, but perhaps during the lives of our children.

Wouldn't it be nice? I'm being naïve, I know.

I'm shocked that Sybil hasn't chimed in to whine about how convicting a man of murder is "racist".

I'm shocked Tom and his buddy Mofart haven't called for Chauvin to publicly being fastened to a hurdle, or wooden panel, and drawn by horse to the place of his execution, and then hanged, emasculated, disemboweled, beheaded, and quartered. Then his remains could be displayed in prominent places.

Will either one of them speak out against this punishment? Stay tuned.

LOL!! Why speak out against? Sounds perfect to me!

However, given his attitude toward people of color, I don't see emasculation having any effect.

Anonymous remembers the good old days and thinks others are as fond of lynching as he is.

So there you have it folks, Mofart and Dave are in favor of cruel and unusual punishment. And Dave is so found of lynching, he just admitted same.

Speaks volumes.

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." Voltaire understood radical extremism exhibited by Vern the "Anonymous" troll.

The law says "cruel AND unusual" so if we punished all bad cops that way, it would be "cruel" but not "unusual" and the constitution would be served.

And isn't leaning on a man's neck until he dies "cruel AND unusual"? Doesn;t our law require he get a trial? A Jury of his PEERS? (which would be made up of other poor Black people)

Sybil supports Black people not getting trials, he just admitted it.

We will have to try this all over again, because of juror misconduct. This conviction will be overturned.

That people on political left have a certain set of opinions, just as people do in other parts of the ideological spectrum, is not surprising. What is surprising however, is how often the opinions on the left are accompanied by hostility and even hatred.

As proven by the posts of Mofart and Dave.

The challenge was made to prove Mofart lies, well here you go Mr. White Bread from White Iowa..."supports Black people not getting trials." Another lie from Mofart.

Does Mofart have even a clue what he is blabbering about?
"Doesn;t our law require he get a trial?" (WHO THE HELL IS HE, Floyd?)

"A Jury of his PEERS? which would be made up of other poor Black people" (FOR WHAT CRIME , being murdered?)

Who the hell is Mofart talking about? Does he even realize that the trial was for the murderer of George Floyd, not anything Floyd did?

Sorry for the "bad questions" Mofart, LMAO

As dumb as a pile of rocks. Mofart makes Biden look like a genius.

woodenman was right

Jerry,

Sadly I fear you are right. My question is will the Federal Trial begin after or before the ruling on the juror misconduct in the State's murder trial?

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."

Like making the absurd claim that abortion does not end the life of a human. The claim that it doesn't makes the atrocity of murder while in womb palatable.

Yes, I know the trial was for the MURDERER of floyd, because...

FLOYD NEVER GOT A TRIAL.

And what for? If Floyd didn;t commit a crime, why was he being arrested at the time he was murdered by the cop?

And Sybil, are you REALLY attacking me for being White AND supporting George Floyd, when all you do is call people racist for calling out racism?

You have REALLY gone round the bend...LOL

CLearly you don;t think the cop should have been convicted of murder, so you have no problem with a Black man not getting a trial for whatever they were trying to arrest him for.

ANd what "misconduct" in the state trial? Truth in testimony against a bad cop?

If you want to be "not hated" for your comments (actually I find you funny and entertaining, if not pathetic) MAYBE try and post something relevant and not so..."stupid"?

Racists lie, again and again. As Dave confesses.

The reality is race only matters to racists, a color blind society is not a racist society. If a society judges it's citizens based on their race and not their character, then race matters. Dave bases everything on race, not character. Just read his posts from the last 2 years.

M.L.King was right, and sadly liberals have run from this truth. Shocking and very sad.

According to CRT you being White makes you a racist. According to CRT, you cant help it.

Another Mozart lie "CLearly you don;t think the cop should have been convicted of murder" LMAO.

"ANd what "misconduct" in the state trial?" Ask Jerry.

"M.L.King was right."

Yes, and he was a socialist.

"According to CRT you being White makes you a racist."

LIE. Only white racists say this. Notice how only white racists get to define racism and CRT.

They have their own CRT. Critical Racist Tirades. As demonstrated by the coward who hides behind "Anonymous".

http://www.davedubya.com/2021/06/critical-racist-tirades.html

What is Critical Race Theory (CRT)?

Who cares? Nobody on the Right will honestly discuss or explain it. It must simply be attacked.

Critical Race Theory has the word "Race" in flashing red letters over the heartland. Fear is the stock-in-trade for the radical Right. It's a commie plot. It's racist. It's a threat to the American people.

Any discussion of Critical Race Theory degenerates into Critical Racist Tirades.

The radical Right will demonize any and all academic, government, or corporate discussion of racial issues. The 1619 Project frightened them to their snowflake white core. They’re terrified of Black people contributing to discussions and research regarding the history and impacts of racism.
