This is just a series of randomly collected thoughts that I had posted here and there on the internet.

1. Take His Comeback Seriously:

This is a portion of an editorial that appeared two days ago in the Washington Post:

"[While] Trump is not a serious person, he is a serious threat to our democracy - and we make a grave mistake if we dismiss him as a punch line. What has made dictators and demagogues so dangerous is their ability to pull vast numbers of people into their personal delusions - to turn their paranoid fantasies and megalomaniacal dreams into a harsh reality for millions."

Yeah, barring being sentenced to a very long stretch in federal prison between now and then (or of him dying), Trump has every intention of checking back into the White House on January 20, 2025. This would make him the first president to serve two non-consecutive terms of office in one-hundred and thirty years (Grover Cleveland being the the first and last one). Progressives need to work diligently and overtime to assure that this potential atrocity does not happen. As things stand at present in the GOP, he has a better than even chance at receiving the nomination and about a 50/50 chance of being reelected. It's going to be an excruciatingly long three-and-a-half years, boys and girls.

2. Gaetz- Gate:

Florida congressman Matt Gaetz just keeps sinking deeper into it. Allegedly Gaetz attempted to coerce a woman who was scheduled to testify against him not to cooperate with the Feds. This on top of an investigation into whether or not this good, conservative man is guilty of sex-trafficking underage girls. While Gaetz should be presumed innocent until proven guilty, there is way too much smoke to deny that, somewhere, a fire is raging - a fire that will presumably incinerate Gaetz' political career. He is someone whom I have never been failed to be fascinated by: a man so transparently phony that he invites lampooning. His photographic images don't even look human; he reminds me of a computer-generated characterization of a used car salesman. I have spent enough time in the state of Florida to know that the place is not quite infested with geniuses, but even I would be stunned were Matt Gaetz to be reelected next year - assuming he is not in prison by then. Hey, you never know.

4. Red-Handed Rudy:

A forty minute audiotape has just been uncovered by CNN that specifically exposes Rudy Giuliani extorting an unnamed Ukrainian government official into opening up an investigation into Joe Biden and his hapless son, Hunter. He should immediately be disbarred by the New York Bar. It is further proof that anyone even vaguely associated with Donald Trump walks away permanently tainted. As I wrote on this site back in April:

"It reminds me somewhat of the recent travails of Prince Andrew. When the Duke of York's obituary is published years from now, the photograph at the top will not be of him wearing that silly military garb that he loves to parade around in; it will be of him with a lecherous arm around the waste of a seventeen-year-old Virginia Roberts at a private party in 2001. He must know this and it must drive him crazy. I suspect that Rudy Giuliani might be having similar thoughts at this moment."

Rudolph Giuliani's historical reputation has been similarly damaged.

No doubt about it: these are strange times to be a citizen of Idiot Nation.

My brother Jeff posted this YouTube video early this morning of Elvis Costello performing at the Obama White House. Paul McCartney is in the audience;

Fantastic.

The Biden administration quietly ended President Donald Trump’s policy that saw many Americans receive lower cost insulin and epinephrine pens on the same day he promised to purchase 500 million COVID-19 vaccines to be sent to foreign countries.

Thanks Joe.

Mother who grew up in Mao’s China WARNS school board that CRT is the same kind of communist indoctrination.

"This is indeed the American version of the Chinese cultural revolution. The Critical Race Theory has its roots in cultural marxism; it should have NO PLACE in our schools."

Vern found an ignorant Chinese lady who's afraid of Black people. How cute.

She has no idea what CRT is if she compares it to bloody purges under Mao. Neither does Vern.

Say, Vern. Would you like to enlighten us on what "cultural Marxism" is? Or shall I?

It's been around as a radical Right racist demonization tactic for years. First they attacked Jews with the label.

Southern Poverty Law Center reports:

In a nutshell, the theory posits that a tiny group of Jewish philosophers who fled Germany in the 1930s and set up shop at Columbia University in New York City devised an unorthodox form of "Marxism" that took aim at American society's culture, rather than its economic system.

The theory holds that these self-interested Jews — the so-called "Frankfurt School" of philosophers — planned to try to convince mainstream Americans that white ethnic pride is bad, that sexual liberation is good, and that supposedly traditional American values — Christianity, "family values," and so on — are reactionary and bigoted. With their core values thus subverted, the theory goes, Americans would be quick to sign on to the ideas of the far left.

The very term, "cultural Marxism," is clearly intended to conjure up xenophobic anxieties.

Now describe what Critical Race Theory is. Betcha can't.

Black Mom Torches Critical Race Theory: It’s ‘Racist,’ It’s ‘Teaching Hate,’ Will Destroy America: Will Dave Dubya call her an ignorant black lady or a token black or an Uncle Tom?

Keisha King, a Duval County parent representing Moms for Liberty, praised school choice and slammed the idea of dividing people on the basis on race 100 years after the Tulsa riots happened.
“CRT is not racial sensitivity, or simply teaching unfavorable American history, or teaching Jim Crow history. CRT is deeper and more dangerous than that,” she continued. “CRT and it’s out working today is a teaching that there is a hierarchy in society where white male heterosexual able-bodied people are deemed the oppressor and anyone else outside of that status is oppressed. That’s why we see corporations like Coca-Cola asking their employees to be less white, which is ridiculous. I don’t know about you, but telling my child or any child that they are in a permanent oppressed status in America because they are black is racist, and saying that white people are automatically above me, my children or any child is racist as well.”

“This is not something that we can stand for in our country,” she concluded. But Dave Dubya LOVES teaching CRT.

Vern can't discuss realty, so he regurgitates ignorant authoritarian women. What makes them experts on CRT? Not a damn thing.

His latest is just an idiot shilling for the Koch funded fake grassroots "Women for Liberty".

How is she ignorant?

CRT doesn't "divide people by race". Racists do that.

“CRT is not racial sensitivity, or simply teaching unfavorable American history, or teaching Jim Crow history. CRT is deeper and more dangerous than that."

Only a racist or idiot would think "racial sensitivity, or simply teaching unfavorable American history, or teaching Jim Crow history" are "dangerous". The radical Right doesn't want Americans to be taught bad things about our history, especially when written by people of color. They want their history of slavery and racism white-washed.

Vern lacks the mental capability of understanding or discussing CRT.

Watch him ignore what it really is:

In their work "Critical Race Theory": An Introduction, first published in 2001, the legal scholars Richard Delgado (one of the founders of CRT) and Jean Stefancic discuss several general propositions that they claim would be accepted by many critical race theorists, despite the considerable variation of belief among members of the movement.

These “basic tenets” of CRT, according to the authors, include the following claims:

(1) Race is socially constructed, not biologically natural.

(2) Racism in the United States is normal, not aberrational: it is the common, ordinary experience of most people of color.

(3) Owing to what critical race theorists call “interest convergence” or “material determinism,” legal advances (or setbacks) for people of color tend to serve the interests of dominant white groups. Thus, the racial hierarchy that characterizes American society may be unaffected or even reinforced by ostensible improvements in the legal status of oppressed or exploited people.

(4) Members of minority groups periodically undergo “differential racialization,” or the attribution to them of varying sets of negative stereotypes, again depending on the needs or interests of whites.

(5) According to the thesis of “intersectionality” or “antiessentialism,” no individual can be adequately identified by membership in a single group. An African American person, for example, may also identify as a woman, a lesbian, a feminist, a Christian, and so on.

(6) The “voice of color” thesis holds that people of color are uniquely qualified to speak on behalf of other members of their group (or groups) regarding the forms and effects of racism. This consensus has led to the growth of the “legal story telling” movement, which argues that the self-expressed views of victims of racism and other forms of oppression provide essential insight into the nature of the legal system.

Racists and idiots don't need to understand reality.

So far Vern, aka JTF, has embraced the racist term "cultural Marxism" to describe CRT.

And he has agreed that "racial sensitivity, or simply teaching unfavorable American history, or teaching Jim Crow history" are dangerous.

What's next, Vern? "Uppity Blacks need to learn their place"? Or, "Only white conservatives are victims of racism"?

Show us more of your racism, Vern. Show us how proud you are of your white nationalism.

(CNN)Georgia Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, his wife, Tricia, and their family received threats of violence months after the election that former President Donald Trump falsely claims was riddled with fraud.

This is Trumpism at its core. It is fascism.

OK...Sybil posts a news story about a PERSON attacking another PERSON and it relates to the subject HOW?

What did I "lie" about exactly? What am I supposed to retract?

It has nothing to do with teaching TRUE history of American racism in schools.

Tragic and sad, but irrelevant...as usual.

Sybil also thinks a pandemic can be stopped by only vaccinating "certain people". The USA has plenty of doses for all citizens, now we just have to convince Sybil's friends that it's not a conspiracy to inject microchips, as if they aren't all carrying "tracking devices" already.

Sybil,

Maybe Trump wouldn't have supported XL if he knew all the oil was for sale to "Chy-NAH"?

Of course he would! He and the "Family" do TONS of business with "Chy-NAH".

He only uses China as a DEFLECTION from his loyalty to RUSSIA.

Critical Race Theory is an ideology started in academia in the 70s that says racism exists everywhere – in every person and system – and the job of the critical theorist is to assess HOW (not if) racism occurred in any circumstance.

Racism is always ASSUMED to have occurred.

Another way to think of critical race theory is this: It’s the opposite of what Martin Luther King preached. It’s the idea that we should judge people on the basis of their race, that someone’s race is the only thing that matters about them, not the content of their character.

So why is all of this problematic, as the kids say.

When you start with a conclusion – that racism has occurred – and work your way back from that conclusion, that’s confirmation bias.

You’ll only look at information that supports your conclusion.

If you are LOOKING for racism in everything, you will inevitably FIND racism in everything.

You will misconstrue the most innocent thing as being a symbol of racism.

You will also ignore data that contradicts your point, so you’re not showing the full spectrum of information.

All that leads to the conclusion being confirmed.

And anyone who disagrees with you or points out all the information you ignored is fragile.

When you start with the conclusion, you leave no room for a real THEORY to develop.

P.S.

Dr. Dave, how many genders are there? Not that you would ever answer, even though I answered your stupid question.

At 11:54 AM, Blogger Dave Dubya said...

Yes there are two genders, but there are "intersex" factors in DNA too.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/q-a-mixed-sex-biology/

What do you feel are your group's most important contributions to the sex biology field so far?

"The two things that we contributed was, one, to find the genes that are antimale, and reframing the view of the female pathway from passive to active. And the second thing is in the brain. We're the first ones to show that there were genes involved in brain sexual differentiation, making the brain either male or female, that were active completely independently from hormones."

Why are genes such as WNT4 and others necessary for sex development?

"I don't know why it's necessary, but if they're doing this then probably they're here to do some fine-tuning at the molecular level. But these antimale genes may be responsible for the development of the ovary. And WNT4 is likely to be such a factor. It's an ovarian marker now, we know. But if you have an excess of WNT4, too much WNT4 in an XY, you're going to feminize the XY individual."

But go ahead and justify your bigotry. It is who YOU are.
