Nothing To See Here!
Donald Trump and his sycophants are really under the serious delusion that they will be able to sweep the crimes committed by this disgusting administration under the rug, to be forever concealed from the eyes of posterity. When Mitch (the plutocracy's bitch) McConnell announced yesterday on the floor of the United States Senate, "Case closed", with respect to Robert Mueller's investigation, it was the act of a man with a serious, almost pathological case of denial. Another example of the Grand Old Party's transformation during the last forty years into an organized criminal enterprise. The Kentucky senator - and everyone else - will soon learn that, far from going away, the worst political scandal in American history will be a constant irritant that will consume the party that at one time was the ideological home of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
While this utter festival of denial was occurring on Capitol Hill, a statement signed by over six-hundred former and current federal prosecutors stated that, after reading the Mueller report, they were unanimously in agreement that the president of the United States is guilty of multiple felonies. How these people believe that thinking Americans will merely shrug their shoulders and yawn in the face of the overt corruption of the Trump White House is puzzling. They appear to be unaware of the reality that is metastasizing daily: that, far from going away anytime soon, the numerous scandals consuming the Trump Mob are the new reality of our national political conversation.
Congress wants to talk to Bob Mueller, and the tentative date for his testimony is May 15. The president and his attorney general, William Barr, after initially stating that neither would have a problem with his testifying, are now hinting that they will try to force him not to reply to a congressional subpoena; that his being an employee of the Department of Justice will allow them to do as much. Do they really believe that they can intimidate a man who once stared down the Viet Cong? Don't they understand that the former special prosecutor can simply resign his post? Do they seriously believe that they can force a private citizen from answering such a summons? That seems to be the case. Former White House Council, Don McGahn, is, in fact, now a private citizen. Barr has hinted that he won't "allow" McGahn to appear. The arrogance of these people stuns the senses.
A hostile foreign power has subverted - and is still in the process of subverting - our voting processes. Why is ending this crime against Weeda Peeple not a priority for Trump, McConnell, and the rest of the Republicans? On more than one occasion recently they have voted down efforts by the Democrats to beef up electoral technology and security. Why??? If you are unable to figure this one out, folks, go back to sleep.
This is going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets a half-a-molecule better. Did you ever dream we would find ourselves living through such times?

Tom,
What are the crimes you believe are being swept under the rug? What evidence do you have of these crimes?
It is clear now that the Obama knew of the Russian efforts to interfere in our elections as early as 2014, and did what to end their efforts? Do you agree that those failures should be investigated?
BTW, this type of comment that dave DUBYA would claim is racist.
I am flattered to be JTF's favorite topic. His repressed, subconscious, homoerotic obsession with me is amusing, and reminds of a joke.
Republican: "Liberals are so obsessed with AOC that I think about her every day!"
JTF is a liar and a racist. He hates me, but can't stop thinking about me, clearly proving I am in his head.
His white nationalist and birther comments were racist, so I didn't publish them. Fair warning was given.
Obama, unlike Putin's Puppet, personally told Putin to "cut it out", among other actions. McConnell blocked Obama's efforts for a bi-partisan response to Putin.
Obama's Justice Department began investigations into Russian interference when they learned Trump's minion Page was in contact with Russians. Soon they learned many lied about contacts with Russians.
Why do cons hate America?
Evidence of crimes is documented by Mueller and plainly visible on hush money checks.
None of this matters, of course. Trump will go unpunished, just like Bush/Cheney did for starting a war based on lies, allowing torture, and detention without charges.
The "one rule" is It's OK If You Are A Republican (IOKIYAR).
Who needs a stinkin' Constitution when all you need is the One Rule?
American Democracy is in its endgame. Say goodbye to it, and welcome the dictatorship of the authoritarian Right.
Mueller found no evidence of collusion, or conspiracy, between President Trump’s campaign and the Russian efforts to influence the 2016 election–and did not find evidence of obstruction of justice, effectively clearing the president on all counts.
If there had been evidence of collusion, or conspiracy, then Mueller would have stated same. After all he had close two years and millions of dollars to find evidence
There is nothing to see here.
BUT there was an attempt by the Russians to influence our elections that President Obama knew about at least as far back as 2014 and he either didn't do enough to stop or he did nothing. That is something that needs to be investigated. The failure of the Obama administration to prevent/stop Russian meddling in our elections is what the Mueller investigation has exposed.
The worst political scandal was Dick Chaney's 9/11, nothing can beat that. Just about all the problems the U.S. has and even the world stem from that Republican treason.
Oddly enough I do not believe Russia interfered in our election at all, the words collusion and meddling have been used constantly for two years now with nothing to back them up.
Real election meddling was committed by the Republicans in the midterms, they kept the House even though Liberals cast millions of more votes than Conservatives and got nothing to show for it. Gerrymandering by Republicans keep them in power, without it they would be a small minority in Congress.

Read Volume II of the Mueller Report. It's all there.
By the way, nearly four-hundred-eighty former federal prosecutors co-signed a letter agreeing that there were several felonious crimes documented within the Mueller Report.
But you already knew this.

See my answer above. You already knew this also.
"It is clear now that the Obama knew of the Russian efforts to interfere in our elections as early as 2014, and did what to end their efforts?" ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (or, simply, "Vern")
Obama discussed his concerns with Trump's puppet-master, Putin, then imposed economic sanctions upon Russia.
What has Trump done? Well, besides suck up to his puppet-master?
"Do you agree that those failures should be investigated?" ~~Timothy L. Trueblood V (or, simply, "Vern")
If there were illegalities, yes, but there weren't. A Republican-dominated Congress, until this January, had every opportunity to investigate. They didn't.
But you already knew this.
Anyone not jaundiced by partisanship can see what is happening.
If 45 was truly innocent, why not release all materials pertaining to the many investigations, clear this mess up and slam the Democrats with the findings to obtain a 50 state sweep for the White House.
Take the Senate
Take the House and many state houses and governorships.
"Comey is the latest in a growing list of former federal prosecutors and senior judicial figures who have said that the factual details contained in Robert Mueller’s report into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential race would be grounds for indicting Trump with multiple felony charges for obstruction. A joint letter to that effect has now been signed by 803 individuals.
Asked in a CNN town hall on Thursday night whether he agreed with that conclusion, Comey said he did. 'There are a whole lot of facts in Bob Mueller’s report that raise serious questions about whether there’s a chargeable case for obstruction and witness tampering against this president,' he said." ~~ The Guardian, "Comey says Mueller's evidence enough to charge Trump if he weren't president", by Ed Pilkington, May 9, 2019
Vern, here's your evidence. It's all found in the Mueller Report.
Like I said, you already knew that. Trump knows too.
I firmly believe that Attorney General William Barr should get the exact same punishment for contempt of Congress that Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder got for his contempt of Congress.
Clucky, how would you and the rest of your ignorant RACIST party have reacted had Obama announced that he was investigating Russians helping Trump during a campaign?
You would have gone batshit crazy claiming he's trying to help Hillary. Obama spoke to McConnell who refused to allow congress to investigate it. Now TWICE the ZGOP congress has refused to do anything to STOP the Russian interference we all know occurred.
look into THOSE failures.
"Oddly enough I do not believe Russia interfered in our election at all, the words collusion and meddling have been used constantly for two years now with nothing to back them up." ~~ woodenman
James, I'm going to give you a pass here because I think you meant to write, "I do not believe Trump colluded with Russia in interfering in our election."
There is evidence that Russia interfered in our 2016 election.
Read Section I of the Mueller Report for evidence that Russian operatives were very much involved in influencing our electoral processes. This really isn't something that's debatable.
We need to understand the definition of collusion and put it in context of the Mueller Report.
From Merriam-Webster:
Collusion: secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose.
Collusion didn't apply to the investigation:
“Collusion is not a specific offense or theory of liability found in the United States Code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law. For those reasons, the Office’s focus in analyzing questions of joint criminal liability was on conspiracy as defined in federal law.”
The Trump Tower meeting with Russian agents was collusion, but Mueller didn’t find sufficient evidence to convict for specific legal conditions of conspiracy with the Russian government.
There was collusion with oligarchs and people with connections to the Kremlin, as in a secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose.
The truth is Mueller recounts numerous contacts between Trump’s people and Russians, and they LIED under oath about those contacts. Flynn and Manifort and Cohen are just three of the convicted criminals. None were convicted of conspiracy, but they most certainly colluded.
Mueller continues: .... the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts... The Russian contacts consisted of business connections, offers of assistance to the Campaign, invitations for candidate Trump and Putin to meet in person, invitations for Campaign officials and representatives of the Russian government to meet, and policy positions seeking improved U.S.-Russian relations.
Mueller also noted the Trump campaign welcomed the Russian interference. They didn’t report it, they cooperated with it.
That’s a lot of “secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose”, aka collusion.
Fair enough, and thank you for your agreement that William Barr is in contempt of Congress.
Now, what kind of judgement do you think ought to be imposed upon William Barr for his perjury?
"A hostile foreign power has subverted - and is still in the process of subverting - our voting processes. Why is ending this crime against Weeda Peeple not a priority for Trump?" ~~ Tom Degan
Excellent question, Tom.
It's obvious that Donald Trump isn't addressing this breech -- unless it has been with V. Putin in their secret meetings and conversations -- and even then probably only in a conspiratorial way to inflict additional harm to our electoral processes.

Truly, if the endgame here eludes anybody, hit your snooze button and sleep through the rest of your life. Don't be surprised, though, by the onset of permanent nightmares.
Yes, Trump and company (i.e., Vladimir Putin) are calculating and working toward a triumphant stealing of the next presidential election.
Why worry? Go back to sleep and dream of better days. But watch out as those nightmares start creeping in.
"Nothing to see here" Never has a title to a post apply more to dave dubya's blog.
Thanks Tom!!
Anyone wonder what law school dave dubya got his law degree from? Jailhouse school of law?
"meeting with Russian agents was collusion" but not if your a part of HRC's team. Just ask Steele. BTW, can you name the Russian agents?
"There was collusion with oligarchs and people with connections to the Kremlin, as in a secret agreement or cooperation especially for an illegal or deceitful purpose."
Proof dave or does the school of law at the jail not require proof?
Hint: meeting and collusion are not the same thing.
"the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome'
dave, did this "perception" of Muller support as you claim Trump colluding with the Russians? If so, where are the indictments?
GIVE IT UP and get a life
Poor JTF. A Republican graduate of the University of Michigan law school agrees with me.
The first elected Republican to face the facts and find his conscience is from Michigan. Justin Amash has sided with the hated Muslim woman representative that Trump is a crook:
Here are my principal conclusions:
1. Attorney General Barr has deliberately misrepresented Mueller’s report.
2. President Trump has engaged in impeachable conduct.
3. Partisanship has eroded our system of checks and balances.
4. Few members of Congress have read the report.
I offer these conclusions only after having read Mueller’s redacted report carefully and completely, having read or watched pertinent statements and testimony, and having discussed this matter with my staff, who thoroughly reviewed materials and provided me with further analysis.
In comparing Barr’s principal conclusions, congressional testimony, and other statements to Mueller’s report, it is clear that Barr intended to mislead the public about Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s analysis and findings.
Barr’s misrepresentations are significant but often subtle, frequently taking the form of sleight-of-hand qualifications or logical fallacies, which he hopes people will not notice.
Under our Constitution, the president “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” While “high Crimes and Misdemeanors” is not defined, the context implies conduct that violates the public trust.
Contrary to Barr’s portrayal, Mueller’s report reveals that President Trump engaged in specific actions and a pattern of behavior that meet the threshold for impeachment.
In fact, Mueller’s report identifies multiple examples of conduct satisfying all the elements of obstruction of justice, and undoubtedly any person who is not the president of the United States would be indicted based on such evidence.
Impeachment, which is a special form of indictment, does not even require probable cause that a crime (e.g., obstruction of justice) has been committed; it simply requires a finding that an official has engaged in careless, abusive, corrupt, or otherwise dishonorable conduct.
While impeachment should be undertaken only in extraordinary circumstances, the risk we face in an environment of extreme partisanship is not that Congress will employ it as a remedy too often but rather that Congress will employ it so rarely that it cannot deter misconduct.
Our system of checks and balances relies on each branch’s jealously guarding its powers and upholding its duties under our Constitution. When loyalty to a political party or to an individual trumps loyalty to the Constitution, the Rule of Law—the foundation of liberty—crumbles.
We’ve witnessed members of Congress from both parties shift their views 180 degrees—on the importance of character, on the principles of obstruction of justice—depending on whether they’re discussing Bill Clinton or Donald Trump.
Few members of Congress even read Mueller’s report; their minds were made up based on partisan affiliation—and it showed, with representatives and senators from both parties issuing definitive statements on the 448-page report’s conclusions within just hours of its release.
America’s institutions depend on officials to uphold both the rules and spirit of our constitutional system even when to do so is personally inconvenient or yields a politically unfavorable outcome. Our Constitution is brilliant and awesome; it deserves a government to match it.
Joe Biden: "I know President Trump likes to take credit for the economy… Just look at the facts, not the alternative facts. President Trump inherited an economy from Obama-Biden administration that was given to him — just like he inherited everything else in his life."
Couple of things,
A. I thought the economy was rotten
B. What Obama policy caused our great economy?
Vern, I cant speak for Mozart or Dave Dubya, but it is true I'm smiling, and nodding, that you're an unapologetic troll who's once again off-topic, off-kilter and off his rocker.
Go back to T. Paine's "Uncommon Sense" blog. I hear him calling you.
So you arer named after a racist and voted for one and you think calling me names is effective???
Sad, go back to high school, you've got no hand.
Vern, not uncommon for you, you're not making any sense. Non-sense, possibly...
What is "arer"? Pirate language, maybe? ;-)
I have a new name for you: "Non-sense Vern".
How's this, fan of racist President and Governor, is that the best you can do?
Guess so Racist Jeff.
