As far as I know, the rupture between him and The Donald has only one historical precedent: the relationship between Andrew Jackson and his VP, John Calhoun. At the end of his life, Jackson told someone that the single biggest regret of his entire career was not having Calhoun shot. I have no doubt that Trump is having similar feelings toward Pence today. Ain't politics a gas?

As the hours of this disgusting administration melt away, the movement to remove Donald Trump from the executive mansion is growing. It doesn't matter that he has only ten days left on his term. This sociopathic moron has his hands on the nuclear codes. There are even some Republicans who are clamoring for his removal. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska is threatening to become a Democrat! The walls are closing in around Donald Trump. He's under the delusion that hell merely be able to pardon himself and walk away from the mess that he has created. Think about that! Andrew Johnson never considered a self-pardon; nor did Dick Nixon; not did Bill Clinton. The reason none of them went down that road was simply because each of them were smart enough to realize that it was a jaw-droppingly stupid idea (and please bear in mind that Andy Johnson was not the smartest knife in the drawer).
Keep your eyes wide on Washington in the next few days. This is the most incredible political crisis we'll ever experience as long as we live (I hope). Those of us who warned our fellow citizens in 2016 what a disaster four years of Donald Trump were going to be should stand proud. It gives me no satisfaction to say I told you so (about Trump) although, I did. Even though Biden has won, I am depressed that 10's of millions of my fellow Americans support the garbage Trump has spewed and the dangerous policies the Republican party has pursued over the last 40 years. Pence lacked the power to singlehandedly "invalidate" the results of the electoral college, despite the bee in Trump's bonnet about the matter. There's no telling Pence he might have done if he indeed had the power. However, his refusal to invoke the 25th Amendment tells us what he might have done if he had a real opportunity.
Pence is still a radical-right hack. I will celebrate his departure from office, along with Donald Trump's. Trump has departed in all but body in any case.

From an economic standpoint, the Trump administration has made great strides.
1. Under Trump’s leadership, in 2018 the U.S. surpassed Russia and Saudi Arabia to become the world’s largest producer of crude oil.

3. It withdrew the U.S. from the job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership, a major change in trade policy.

5. It approved up to $12 billion in aid for farmers affected by unfair trade retaliation, but announced a total of $28 billion in aid for farmers in 2018 and 2019.
