Poppy's Revenge

Image result for George H. W. Bush"The big mistake that was made was letting Cheney bring in kind of his own State Department. I think they overdid that. But it's not Cheney's fault. It's the president's fault."

George H.W. Bush
Assessing the administration of the halfwit from Crawford, Texas

This cannot be good....

Let me rephrase that:

For my purposes this is very, VERY good indeed. Poppy Bush - AKA King George I, AKA George the Elder, AKA George Herbert Walker Bush - has spilled some very nasty tasting beans. After nearly fifteen years of relative silence on the subject of his moronic kid's disastrous administration, the old man is finally letting loose regarding what he really thinks about All the Idiot's Men - or at the very least two of those men.

Image result for Jeb BushOn Tuesday was released John Meacham's new biography, Destiny and Power: The American Odyssey of George Herbert Walker Bush. As some of us have long suspected, Poppy is not at all pleased with the way some of Dubya's subordinates served him during those eight dreadful years that the hideous little bastard served as president of the United States of America, a reign of error unprecedented in history that mercifully came to an end on January 20, 2009.
`
It sure must be an awful thing being Poppy Bush these days. Let's face some uncomfortable facts: the poor old bugger is not terribly far from the grave - and he is being forced to shuffle off into eternity haunted by the knowledge that little Georgie has forever soiled the "good" name of the Family Bush. George H.W. Bush will be historically remembered - not in his own right - but as the father of the most corrupt and incompetent chief-executive in the history of human folly. That very fact alone must grate on the guy's conscience. A few years ago, not long before King George II left the White House, the father was speaking in front of a fairly substantial gathering of people somewhere, talking about his other son, Jeb. All of the sudden, and without a smidgeon of warning, the old man broke into wrenching sobs.

I don't have much of a history of compassion for any member of that disgusting family, but I must confess that, at that moment and for the only time in my life, my heart went out to George H.W. Bush. I knew then what he must have been feeling: The wrong son made it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Junior made such a fucking mess of things, and now Jeb's candidacy is being dashed to oblivion - partly because of his father's outburst - but mostly, I believe, because of the legacy of his idiotic older brother. This would be really sad if it weren't do gut-bustingly funny.

Image result for Dick CheneyIt's not too difficult to figure out what Poppy Bush's biggest regret must be. Ironically it was he, after all, who commissioned Dick Cheney to head a task force that was charged with the mission of finding a suitable running mate for young Georgie after he won the GOP nomination in the summer of 2000. Can you imagine the sleep he's lost over the years just contemplating the ramifications of that decision? I've always had a good laugh imagining what that conversation must have sounded like:

CHENEY: Well, George, after searching high and low, we've finally found the ideal running mate for you!

DUBYA: That's great, Dick! Who is it?

CHENEY: You're not gonna believe it - IT'S ME!

DUBYA: Whoa! What're the odds!

Sixteen years after he announced his candidacy, it still boggles the mind how shockingly stupid George Dubya Bush was. We're talkin' dark comedy at it's darkest here.

Image result for Donald RumsfeldBush 41 wasn't any easier on Donald Rumsfeld, another architect of the worst military blunder in the history of this doomed republic. The quote is a  priceless example of the famous Bush Family syntax:

"There's a lack of humility, a lack of seeing what the other guy thinks....I think he paid a price for that."

Both Cheney and Rumsfeld's responses were telling. In an interview on Fox Noise, referring to a quote in the Meacham interview where the elder Bush refers Cheney an "iron ass", the former vice-president said, "I took it as a point of pride". Rumsfeld implied that the former president was senile - maybe even brain-damaged: "Bush 41 is getting up there in years", he said. Nice.

What is even more incredible is the fact that, while H.W. feels complete and utter contempt toward Dickie and Donnie for the damage done to his son's administration (and the entire planet) via Iraq, he has nothing but praise for little Georgie for invading the country in the first place. Weird. Perhaps an argument can indeed be made for senility.

Image result for george bushFor every month that goes by, it becomes more and more apparent what a dreadful national miscalculation it was on the part of the American electorate in sending these assholes to Washington sixteen years ago. The happiest news of the last month is the fact that Jeb Bush's quest for the White House is all but dead. Anyone who makes the foolish argument that George's slightly brighter younger brother would be a different type of president hasn't been paying attention. They're two sides of the same counterfeit coin. As governor of Florida, Jeb Bush was about as extreme as they come. Only since his brother vacated the executive mansion has he sought to "moderate" his positions. I hope we never again fall for that "compassionate conservatism" jazz.

As you're no doubt aware, warped syntax runs in that family. When asked about his father's views the other day, Jeb remarked that maybe the old man wants "to create a different narrative, perhaps, just because that's natural to do."

Perhaps. Which begs the musical question: Who creates "a different narrative" out of stark reality? The answer to that question is this: someone who has lost his or her reason, that's who. A simple "no comment" would have sufficed, Jeb. Seriously.
`
There are many of us whom, out of thin air, would just love to create "a different narrative". I know I would if I could. Here it is: Al Gore is inaugurated president on January 20, 2001. That's a "different narrative" that I - and over five thousand American soldiers, and as many as a million Iraqi men, woman and little children - could live with. Sadly, alternate narratives of historical realities are a luxury we will never have.

In the quote at the top of this piece of Poppy criticizing Dick Cheney, he said, that in the final analysis, "It's the president's fault." He was wrong. The fault, dear voters, lies not in our president, but in ourselves.

I recently read this one for the third time. The best book ever written about the catastrophe of the Bush years - which were only half way over when it was published in 2005. Tragically, she would not live to write its sequel. I sure do miss Molly Ivins.

Well, well. A Bush blaming another Bush. The poor extremists will have to chew on that, or more likely ignore it, as they howl at liberals for blaming the Shrub for his multiple disasters, blunders, and crappy policies.

But fear not, IOKIYAR! We know the rules by now.

This in from Politico:

“Fool me once, won’t get fooled again”. GWB

Wrong again. THREE times he was warned of attack. THREE times he did NOTHING.

From ‘The Attacks Will Be Spectacular’

“Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” The CIA’s famous Presidential Daily Brief, presented to George W. Bush on August 6, 2001, has always been Exhibit A in the case that his administration shrugged off warnings of an Al Qaeda attack. But months earlier, starting in the spring of 2001, the CIA repeatedly and urgently began to warn the White House that an attack was coming.

July 10, 2001:

…Tenet vividly recalls the White House meeting with Rice and her team. (George W. Bush was on a trip to Boston.) “Rich [Blee] started by saying, ‘There will be significant terrorist attacks against the United States in the coming weeks or months. The attacks will be spectacular. They may be multiple. Al Qaeda's intention is the destruction of the United States.’"

End of July:

“They're coming here.” - CIA Al Qaeda unit, Richard Blee

And they kicked counter Terrorism adviser Richard Clarke out of cabinet meetings...

At 6:23 PM, Blogger Chuck Morre said...

Ok so between 8/6 and 9/11 what should GWB have done? Closed airports, sealec our bordres (something we won't do now!)

What would have happened if Clinton have taken or killed Bin Laden?

We will never know, because he didn't do anything!

Meanwhile in TODAY's news

Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” President Barack Obama seemingly downplayed the threat of ISIS in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that aired on Friday’s broadcast of “Good Morning America.”

Stephanopoulos asked Obama if ISIS was gaining in strength, to which Obama denied they were.

“I don’t think they’re gaining strength,” Obama responded. “What is true is that from the start, our goal has been first to contain and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq, and in Syria they’ll come in, they’ll leave, but you don’t see this systemic march by ISIL across the terrain."

60 killed in Paris by terrorist. French authorities have launched a terrorism investigation, Eric Pelletier, a reporter with Le Pariesien, tells CNN Paul Cruickshank. There has been no official claim for responsibility, though ISIS has applauded the attacks on Twitter, Cruickshank reports.

What does France do?? They close their borders. Amazing, they do what any country would do, yet we under the democrats do nothing about the invasion of our borders by illegals. They claim it's impossible to remove 11 million illegals. Would they Democrats make the same claim if 11 million American citizens refused to pay their federal income tax? Hell no, they would find some way to round up those tax dodgers.
Why can the same be done with illegals?

MEANWHILE: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has nearly 1,000 active probes involving the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) inside the United States, dozens of law enforcement officials disclose in a letter to President Obama.

How very interesting that liberal apologists always bring up GWB when Obama's claims are proven to be questionable.

Final note, how strict are the gun control, laws in France? How are they working so far?

Hurry up Nov 2016!!

Ralph Nader was calling for reinforced cockpit doors in the 1970s.

From Politico:

The drama of failed warnings began when Tenet and Black pitched a plan, in the spring of 2001, called “the Blue Sky paper” to Bush’s new national security team. It called for a covert CIA and military campaign to end the Al Qaeda threat—“getting into the Afghan sanctuary, launching a paramilitary operation, creating a bridge with Uzbekistan.” “And the word back,” says Tenet, “‘was ‘we’re not quite ready to consider this. We don’t want the clock to start ticking.’”

(Translation: they did not want a paper trail to show that they’d been warned.)

And Donald Trump said in a book there would be another attack on the World Trade Center while Clinton was in office. Maybe Clinton should have captured or killed Bin laden when he could have. Or maybe Carter should have put the doors in that Nader wanted, or Clinton?

Chuckie, his "clear shot" had the potential of killing thousands of innocent civillians (something Bush never worried about) and even then our intelligence community told him we probably didn't have proper evidence to CHARGE him with anything if he DID catch him. WHat Clinton DID do was leave several warnings to the Bush administration outlining imminent attacks on American soil, which Bush promptly ashcanned, to go after Hussein, the result of which was ISIS.

Big government’s health care solution is imploding. Soon it will be undeniable to even its most ardent champions that Obamacare is the unmitigated disaster critics predicted when, literally, only Democrats voted it into law, most without reading it.

Despite innumerable warnings that it was an unworkable, extremely costly Rube Goldberg contraption doomed to fail, those advancing it didn’t care. When it finally implodes, they knew, it will create the opportunity to rush to the rescue by doubling down on the bad bet.

Obamacare always was intended to pave the way for full-blown nationalized health care, as is so common in Europe. That’s why it wasn’t important to know the details. They knew the destination.

As with every Big Government program, failure becomes the excuse to do more of the same, rather than to kill the contrivance and get government out of the equation. In the face of mounting deficits, escalating costs and failed bureaucracies, Big Government champions from Bismarck to Obama always insist failures happen because they just didn’t have enough time, enough money and enough control. The day nears when Obamacare’s failure will prompt demands for more time, more of your money and more control over your life.

Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

At 5:29 PM, Anonymous Just An Old Fashioned American said...

In 2009, starry-eyed Big Government worshippers swallowed Barack Obama’s promise that Obamacare would lower a typical family’s premiums by $2,500 a year. Instead, premiums increased about an equal amount. In 2016, people who don’t qualify for taxpayer-financed subsidies will see a very expensive market “become even more expensive,” according to an insurance comparison website. Of course, you also were promised to be able to keep your doctor and health plan, and that the whole rigmarole wouldn’t increase the deficit.

Hundreds of New York cancer patients are losing hospital coverage because they signed up with Obamacare insurance co-ops, reports the New York Post. Indeed, more than half the nonprofit co-ops formed through Obamacare have left the market, the Washington Post reports. Nearly half a million Americans are left searching for health care.

Two days into the new enrollment season, Michigan’s Consumers Mutual Insurance announced it won’t sell coverage for 2016, becoming the 12th plan to fail in the past year, leaving only 11 operational.

Harbingers of bad news continue. A key Obamacare program to protect insurers from high costs faces massive cash shortages, Standard and Poor’s reports. The risk pool holds only $1 to cover every $10 in claims, the Hill reports. Simultaneously, people who don’t receive subsidies paid by taxpayers and who buy the cheapest Obamacare health plans, “face the largest increases for premiums and out-of-pocket costs in 2016,” CNBC.com reports. A new study by McKinsey & Co. found insurance companies lost $2.5 billion in 2014 and “will have to charge higher premiums or quit.”

Liberalism is truly a mental disorder.

Which I would be glad to do if any Conservative could reciprocate.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari has said his country's intelligence services shared information they had which indicated that France, the United States and Iran were among countries being targeted for attack.

He did not elaborate, but the comments came after 129 people were killed in Paris on Friday by gunmen and suicide bombers in attacks claimed by Islamic State.

"Information has been obtained from Iraqi intelligence sources that the countries to be targeted soon, before it occurred, are Europe in general, specifically France, as well as America and Iran," Jaafari said from the sidelines of talks in Vienna on ending the war in Syria on Saturday.

He said the countries had been informed. A video of his comments was posted on his website."

Does this mean Obama along with the liberal govt of France were warned and did nothing?

BAGHDAD (AP) — An Iraqi intelligence dispatch sent to coalition countries warned of imminent assaults by the Islamic State group just one day before last week’s deadly attacks in Paris killed 129 people.

Iraqi intelligence said the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, ordered an attack on coalition countries fighting against them in Iraq and Syria, as well as on Iran and Russia, “through bombings or assassinations or hostage taking in the coming days.”

Six senior Iraqi intelligence officials corroborated the information in the intelligence dispatch, and four of them said they warned France specifically of a potential attack.

So why did the White House just say there was no credible threat against the United States?
An Associated Press reporter was shown a copy of the note Sunday.

from the same dispatch:

The dispatch said the Iraqis had no specific details on when or where the attack would take place, and a senior French security official told the AP that French intelligence gets this kind of communication "all the time" and "every day."

So they should have shut down all of Paris indefinitely? No concerts, no restaurants, no stores?

SoreLoser is trying to make a comparison to the very specific warnings that Dubya and Condee Rice got about airlines.

I remember one day when SoreLoser/Chuck Koolade got mad and said he wouldn't comment on this blog any more. And then, despite his protests that he never posts under multiple and stolen aliases, every single other "conservative" commenter disappeared. And then when SoreLoser/Chuck started sweating and going through withdrawal symptoms, he returned. And within minutes of his return, the other names reappeared. Ahh, good times!

Just like the Clark intel has nothing as to where, when or what the attack would take place. And just like the WH gets hundreds of threats daily about terrorist attacks. But it's all different when it is a liberal isn't it.

"So they should have shut down all of Paris indefinitely? No concerts, no restaurants, no stores?"
Hell, the liberal Pres of France was at the football game that was attacked. He had this warning of an attack and when to a football game!!! Double standard much?
GWB should have shut every thing down from March until when? How dare I hold the "black guy" to the standards as liberals hold GWB. I must be a racist, right Davy? Isn't that the last refuge of liberalism, to claim your opponent is a racist?

Obama gets the warning the day before the attack and claims the morning of the attack that ISIS is penned in.

"very specific warnings" REALLY!!!, That's a lie and you know it.

8 months before 9/11 attack?? Prove that Davy.
And yes if you can blame the black woman, I can blame the black guy.

Liberal double standard at its best. There's been a lot of it the past 7 days, and I'm sure there will be more.
But there is a bit of hope for our future. Jack Tapper (CNN, not FOX) is after a Obama's Security adviser, Ben Rhodes for his ISIS failures. Maybe the wheel is turning, maybe the news media is willing to ask the tough questions of this White House, and hold them accountable as they have held GWB accountable. Maybe the media will dare to ask this White House when they are going to start protecting our borders, enforcing our laws, and start protecting the citizens from illegals who murder and rape.

Hillary, O’Malley Would Bring In 65,000 Syrian Refugees, Despite FBI Director Saying They Cannot Adequately Check Them…
INSANE!!!!
Why do the liberals hate America so much??
Why would they brag about bringing in more potential ISIS members? Why do they ignore the threat being mounted against our nation by Radical Islam? Why do liberals get more upset over a Christian baker refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding than allowing more Syrians refuges to enter our country? Why do they refuse to even ask how many of the planets current conflicts involve Muslims? Religion of peace? Really? An this President wants to bring more into our country!!

Because they are liberals that's why!

And it's all GWB's fault cause we can't blame the black guy.

Horse crap! The black guy is the one who has had 7 years to earn his Nobel Peace Prize!! 7 years to keep his promises. Oh, I forgot, his failures must be blamed on the GOP.

Charles Pierce, over at Esquire:

These are a few things that will not solve the terrible and tangled web of causation and violence in which the attacks of Friday night were spawned. A 242-ship Navy will not stop one motivated murderous fanatic from emptying the clip of an AK-47 into the windows of a crowded restaurant. The F-35 fighter plane will not stop a group of motivated murderous fanatics from detonating bombs at a soccer match. A missile-defense shield in Poland will not stop a platoon of motivated murderous fanatics from opening up in a jammed concert hall, or taking hostages, or taking themselves out with suicide belts when the police break down the doors.

American soldiers dying in the sands of Syria or Iraq will not stop the events like what happened in Paris from happening again because American soldiers dying in the sands of Syria or Iraq will be dying there in combat against only the most obvious physical manifestation of a deeper complex of ancient causes and ancient effects made worse by the reach of the modern technology of bloodshed and murder. Nobody’s death is ever sacrifice enough for that.

It’s time to be pitiless against the bankers and against the people who invest in murder to assure their own survival in power. Assets from these states should be frozen, all over the west. Money trails should be followed, wherever they lead. People should go to jail, in every country in the world. It should be done state-to-state. Stop funding the murder of our citizens and you can have your money back. Maybe. If we’re satisfied that you’ll stop doing it. And, it goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway – not another bullet will be sold to you, let alone advanced warplanes, until this act gets cleaned up to our satisfaction. If that endangers your political position back home, that’s your problem, not ours. You are no longer trusted allies. Complain, and your diplomats will be going home. Complain more loudly, and your diplomats will be investigated and, if necessary, detained. Retaliate, and you do not want to know what will happen, but it will done with cold, reasoned and, yes, pitiless calculation. It will not be a blind punch. You will not see it coming. It will not be an attack on your faith. It will be an attack on how you conduct your business as sovereign states in a world full of sovereign states.

I'm insulting them?

Yes I'm blowing a head gasket in rage, rage over the party of JFK, and Truman being taken over by the spineless snowflakes. Rage over the dismembership of our once great nation into "safe spaces" and the cult of eat those who have succeeded, because that had to have cheated to have been successful.

Must have been an inside job! GWB did this for oil money, what a crock.

Here's what's insulting:
the continued defense of an administration that wants to welcome thousands of military aged men who follow sharia law into our country. ((have you read sharia law, would you want to live under it? Yet it is the obligation of every Muslim to work towards the world living under the rules of sharia law. Don't think so, just ask one)
Defending an administration who draws lines in the sand and ignores them when they are crossed.

Two posters who are proud of tag teaming those whey disagree with, how chicken sh*t is that?

My God man, surely you are starting to question the motivations and actions of these people? Can you see anyway how their plans will result in a safer, better America?

Blame the black woman, right Davy, why it's you very own war on black women, isn't it?

The Russian government warned U.S. authorities that Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev was a violent radical Islamist more than a year and a half before the April 2013 bombing. NBC News

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Russian authorities warned the FBI in 2011 about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of two Chechen brothers accused of carrying out last year's Boston Marathon bombings, but U.S. authorities missed chances to detain him, NBC News reported on Tuesday.

Citing a congressional report it said could be released by the House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee as soon as Thursday, NBC News said the Russian intelligence agency FSB cabled the FBI about its concerns in March 2011, warning that Tsarnaev was known to have associated with militant Islamists.

US authorities didn’t bother to question Tamerlan Tsarnaev at JFK international Airport when he flew to Dagestan in 2012, despite watch-listing him as potentially “armed and dangerous.” The same thing happened when he flew back six months later.

Recall that Tsarnaev was watch-listed as a result of Russia’s March, 2011 “warning” to the FBI and the CIA that he was exhibiting a growing extremism and concocting plans to travel to the North Caucasus to join the Jihad there against Russia.

Hmm, 8 months vs 18 months.

French TV SLAMS Conservatives For Politicizing Paris Attacks: ‘Newt Gingrich, Shame On You’

As France continues to try to pick up the pieces after experiencing what is being described as the worst terror attack in a western country since 9/11, America’s right-wing was busy spewing toxic hot takes on social media.

French media put on a master class in how to conduct responsible, measured journalism in the face of chaos and fear. At the forefront was France 24, a network that brought continuous coverage of the ongoing terror attacks to viewers both in the country and to the rest of the world. Occasionally, they would offer perspectives from across the world, showing tweets and messages of well wishes from those across the planet hurting right along with France. Unfortunately, they also stumbled across America’s aforementioned right-wing sewage dump.

Wasting no time, conservatives spent the night competing with each other to say the most offensive, idiotic things they could about the attacks – even while violence was still unfolding in Paris streets.

But while America has grown disturbingly used to this kind of opportunistic politicizing of tragedies from conservatives, the French media seemed completely taken aback. And rightfully so. This was a time to ensure people were safe, mourn the victims, and convey facts. American conservatives used it to score cheap points to further their agendas.

After seeing Gingrich’s pitiful stab at turning France’s tragedy into a way to sell more American guns, France 24’s Mark Owen was both baffled and outraged.

“So he’s using this atrocity to make his point [that] people should be able to carry guns basically. It’s funny how people will very distastefully use this kind of situation to express their own particular political [inaudible]. Newt Gingrich, shame on you.”

"Aaron Rodgers Calls Out A-Hole Fan"

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers may not have led his team to victory in Sunday’s game, but he proved to be a total class act in the post-game press conference.

The NFL chose to honor the victims of the Paris terror attacks with a moment of silence held before each and every game. It was meant to be a time for fans to mourn the loss of life, send positive thoughts to the French people, and reflect. For most, that’s what happened. One fan in Green Bay, Wisconsin, however, decided to use the quiet stadium to spew hatred towards Muslims. In the middle of the moment of silence, he could be heard shouting “Muslims suck” loud enough that the players on the field took notice.

After the game, the man’s hateful outburst still clearly weighed on Rodgers, who stopped taking questions about game strategy and performance to slap down the “fan” and disavow everything he stood for.

“I must admit I was very disappointed with whoever the fan was who made a comment that I thought was really inappropriate during the moment of silence. It’s that kind of prejudicial ideology that I think puts us in the position we are in today.”

==

For at least the rest of the week, I'm a Packers fan.

Earlier Monday, Obama had defended the U.S. strategy against the Islamic State, which has largely focused on airstrikes, amid calls for deploying a large number of ground troops in response to the Paris terrorist attacks. Obama said a ground invasion would be a “mistake” because it would require using U.S. troops to occupy Iraqi and Syrian cities indefinitely.

Obama also said he respected the debate over what to do against the Islamic State, but “if folks want to pop off and have opinions about what they think they would do, present a specific plan.”

“If they think somehow their advisers are better than the Chairman of my Joint Chiefs of Staff and the folks who are actually on the ground, I want to meet them,” Obama said. “And we can have that debate. But what I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually going to work to protect the American people and to protect the people in the region who are getting killed and to protect our allies and people like France. To be sure, this isn’t entirely new. For months, a wide variety of Republicans – candidates, lawmakers, pundits, et al – have gone to almost comedic lengths to pretend not to notice the thousands of airstrikes President Obama has launched against ISIS targets. At times, it’s been genuinely bizarre.

What is new, however, is watching conservatives suggest the French, by launching an offensive of their own, are somehow demonstrating a security commitment the United States isn’t. Reality points in a very different direction.

Fewer than 5 percent of Americans surveyed at the time believed that the United States should raise its immigration quotas or encourage political refugees fleeing fascist states in Europe — the vast majority of whom were Jewish — to voyage across the Atlantic. Two-thirds of the respondents agreed with the proposition that "we should try to keep them out."

Evil Christians lurk in government as well as on TV, telling their victims heaven and earthly rewards await them if only they send in their "seed" money.

Muslims are not the only terrorists.

Since 9-11 more Americans have been killed by American Right wing terrorists than by the Muslims they hate.

Beloved reality TV star and noted child molester Josh Duggar is idolized as a cherished paragon of traditional family values by presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and other social conservatives. The Tea Party darling is now being sued for half a million dollars by a woman he paid to have sex with.

In the court papers, Adult film star Danica Dillon (legal name: Ashley Stamm-Northup) claims Duggar committed battery against her twice, and she is asking for $500,000.

Ms. Dillon was working at a strip club in Philadelphia when she met Duggar. She says he paid her $600 for several lap dances, and that he gave her an additional $1,500 to have sex with her in a hotel room. In her complaint, Dillon says Duggar "manhandled" her so viciously that she felt like she was being raped.

Later, Duggar returned to the strip club to "apologize" to Dillon, but the suit alleges that "his motive for the 'apology' was to deceive Plaintiff into another private meeting with her where he engaged in identical tortious conduct causing Plaintiff to suffer severe emotional and physical damages."

The US government turned down Anne Frank's visa application

Otto Frank sought help from his college friend Nathan Strauss Jr, the son of the owner of Macy's, to get a US visa, but the US State Department turned him and his family down.

He later tried got the family a visa for Cuba, but after Germany declared war on the USA, the visa was canceled.

If her father had sought help sooner, "Anne Frank could be a 77-year-old woman living in Boston today, a writer. That is what the YIVO's documents suggest," said Richard Breitman, a professor at American University.

However, Otto Frank decided to try to escape just as the Nazis were making it more difficult to leave and the United States was making it more difficult to enter, Breitman said.

Cuba issued Otto Frank a visa on December 1, 1941, according to the documents, but it was canceled 10 days later when Germany declared war on the United States.

Evangelical Christians, as well as Christians more broadly, are a core group in the Republican electoral base and are among the most passionate advocates for aiding refugees.

There is nothing Christian about the Republican Party. The servants of mammon are their owners. Too bad their voters can’t understand this fact.

Why are you afraid to learn about that of which you are critical? Who are you to judge my faith when you are ignorant of what it means to be a Christian?

The projection is clear. Again, Chuckie shows us he’s full of willful ignorance.

Two qualities furthest from Chuckie’s worldview:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

(Unless they’re liberals, African Americans, Muslims, union members, teachers, scientists, journalists and other non-believers of his extreme far Right cult dogma.)

Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

(We know how Chuckie feels about Muslim refugees, those without health care, the unemployed, and the non-white poor. Not very Christian at all.)

Yes, we know all about Chuckie’s total lack of Christian love and compassion for those not like him.

And Chuckie thinks he can lecture us on what it means to be a Christian?? He’s full of arrogance, and proud of it.

Jesus had a special contempt for hypocrites like him.

If he had a conscience, he’d beg our forgiveness for the hate he’s been spewing.

That “Good Christian” hate is what Chuckie and the Klan share. Yes, the Klansmen are all “Christian” too. Just ask them.

Nothing to See Here, Just a Spy Agency Funded by Paranoid Billionaires

The Koch Brothers employ a team of 25 operatives, including ex-CIA agents, to investigate progressive groups and "threats" to their network.

The competitive intelligence team has a staff of 25, including one former CIA analyst, and operates from one of the non-descript Koch network offices clustered near the Courthouse metro stop in suburban Arlington, Va. It has provided network officials with documents detailing confidential voter-mobilization plans by major Democrat-aligned groups. It also sends regular "intelligence briefing" emails tracking the canvassing, phone-banking and voter-registration efforts of labor unions, environmental groups and their allies, according to documents reviewed by POLITICO and interviews with a half-dozen sources with knowledge of the group. The competitive intelligence team has gathered on-the-ground intelligence from liberal groups' canvassing events in an effort to assess the technology and techniques of field efforts to boost Democrats, according to the sources. And they say the team utilizes high-tech tactics to track the movements of liberal organizers, including culling geo-data embedded in their social media posts.

Wow. Reading over a lot of the recent comments, I do indeed see a lot of demonizing, hate, and bullying. And it ain't all coming from Chuck. Chuck has tried on multiple occasions in this long thread to have a reasoned discussion without casting epithets, names, or switching topics. Each time he is met with those exact same tactics used against him and therefore will respond in kind some times.

I find it to be very sad that it is no longer acceptable for someone to actually support the rule of law and expect our "leaders" to follow the constitution. If I call someone out on their lawlessness or corruption, it is automatically assumed it is because the culprit is black, or a woman, or a Democrat.

It is sad that TRUE capitalism (not crony capitalism) is demonized despite being the driving force for America's economy and the untold myriads of inventions and innovations that that have helped make America the richest country in the world, where even our poor typically have a roof over their heads and a car.

It is sad that someone who believes in personal responsibility and taking care of his own is somehow looked down upon as selfish because he doesn't think that he should surrender undue amounts of his treasure to support those who simply want to live off of the backs of others when they are capable of providing for themselves.

It is TRULY sad that I cannot worship my God as my faith instructs me without the government and some people claiming that I am hateful and bigoted, and thereby violate my first amendment rights to the free exercise of my religion.

Yep, in some peoples' books, my beliefs in those things makes me a right-wing extremist worthy of derision and in need of "re-education", despite history, economics, and morality proving I am correct.

But what do I know... my amygdala governs my actions... right?

Could explain why one would carry a weapon for a sense of security. Or why one is afraid liberals are commies who hate America, etc.

"True capitalism" and "crony capitalism" are insufficient terms. It is global banking and corporatism now. Their bottom line dictates public policy and even military adventurism.

Dave, if you don't wish to exercise your 2nd amendment rights, that is your choice. If I do choose to exercise mine in light of the shootings and terrorism in the world, that is my right. I realize that the chances of my ever being caught up in such a dire situation is slim, but it would sure be good to be prepared if it did. I don't count on my house catching fire, but I do have a fire extinguisher for that same reason. I don't count on my car getting a flat tire, but I am prepared with a spare in case it does.

Protecting me and my family is far more important than either of those things. Cast your aspersions once again in Alinksky-fashion, but I am simply being responsible and prudent.

And most liberals look to government to solve all of their woes and ills. You want jobs and fair wages. So do I. I don't think government involvement typically helps that occur. Further, these unskilled burger flippers want $15.00 an hour. BS! Not when our armed forces are making less than that when they put their asses on the line. It is far more productive for most fools today to sit at home collecting unemployment and snap payments, since that is more lucrative than working a minimum wage job. Your solution is to raise the minimum wage by government fiat. My solution is to get rid of unnecessary government intrusion and regulation so more good jobs can be created.

TP,
OK, no more “conservatives ONLY want tax cuts for the rich crap” from me. ;-)

Both parties serve the interests of the economic elites over the public. Even Obama is pushing a corporate written trade agreement that become law of the land. Calling him a commie only draws attention to the accuser’s true hate and racism, or indoctrinated false belief and ignorance.

“Free speech” money buys policy, and we know who has the most “free speech”. People who vote for the primary corporatist party will be associated with the agenda of the elites, because their votes facilitate that agenda more so than votes for the Democratic Party.

the chances of my ever being caught up in such a dire situation is slim, but it would sure be good to be prepared if it did.

The amygdala is the area of the brain associated with the fight or flight response. You may say, by comparison I have an under-active amygdala, and it would be true relative to you. I won’t take offense. It is a fair statement. It’s not an “Alinsky fashioned aspersion”. It is science.

And most liberals look to government to solve all of their woes and ills.

This goes way beyond simple generalization. This is false and degrading propaganda, aka demonization. Now look who’s casting Alinsky-fashion aspersions.

I don't think government involvement typically helps that occur. (Jobs and fair wages)

This is opinion that needs supporting evidence. There are many government jobs that matter to the constitutional general welfare. Most Americans want a minimum wage, that goes up with a rising cost of living. It’s constitutional regulation of commerce. The government needed to end slavery and child labor, and still needs to regulate safer working conditions and pollution.

Idiots are free to call this communism, but again, they just reveal their ignorance and subservience to the agenda of the corporate elite.

Military pay has always been lower than civilian. If you don’t like it, vote to raise their pay, as well as other public employees who make less than the private sector. Fair?

It is far more productive for most fools today to sit at home….”

Yes, resentment is important, isn’t it? “Most fools” seems to indicate deep scorn and dislike for the poor. Nobody respects, or desires, leeches who can work and refuse. The vast majority of those on benefits do not fit this resent-driven and false stereotype.

Maybe many of those “fools” jobs were off-shored by the noble “job creators” whose political and economic agenda is being legislated by all Republicans and most Democrats. Hell, they even get to write the legislation. And they have folks like you whine about the terrible burdens suffered by billionaires and corporations under constitutional regulation and taxes. This is why Nixonian “mobilization of resentment” has been very successful for the economic elites.

THAT sir is your crony capitalism. The best government, and voters, money can buy.

I love it when stupid extremists lecture us on FDR.

FDR noted well the problem of “continued dependence upon relief”. This is correct. Stupid conservatives accuse liberals of wanting this, and ignore what FDR said afterwards. “Work must be found for able-bodied but destitute workers.”

Liberals agree, but stupid cons refuse to recognize this reality.

After economic collapse and depression left by Hoover and the Republican Party, unemployment went down in all but one year of all FDR’s terms.

So they call him a commie, of course. They don’t even know how stupid they look to reasonable people.

Does anyone but me remember when the lefties sang songs about the working man?

You know, tilling the land, sailing the seas, toiling in the mine, building the railroad.

Now, all the lefties do is send out the imperial guard to fence off local land and shut down the places the working man and woman worked at.

The lefties have absolutely no intention of living in fly-over country, but they must control the daily lives of their fellow citizens who do live there.

The Democrats need more than improved propaganda and get out the vote efforts.

They need to improve the track records of their programs: "Urban renewal" hurt the poor by tearing down businesses along with apartments and replacing it with new apartments but no jobs in sight.

AFDC made it profitable for poor women to get rid of their husbands so they could get government support and left the kids with no fathers.

Today the Democrats rely on big business and its crony capitalism to pay for their campaigns and repay them with laws that promote the export of jobs, damage small companies, etc.

Pay no attention to the GOP Kochs and the GOP Chamber of Commerce and Wall Street cash to BOTH parties. More projection from a Republican propagandist.

Nice try Chuckie.

We face a situation where an institutionally anti-social element lives in our midst which is unlikely ever to be tamed. Appeasement will not work. Bribery will not work. They will merely take our money to spend on bombs. It is time now for those involved in terrorism to feel fear. Our response has to be so determined and so effective they will tremble at the thought of it.

Meanwhile, during the second world war, persons from countries with which we were at war had to register and could be confined. It did not matter how innocent the individual. The same should apply now. Every Moslem (for every terrorist is recruited from their numbers) should be required to be registered and their DNA, fingerprints et al should be recorded. They should also have to carry ID cards.

Only a buffoon believes Islam is a "Religion of Peace."

If we follow Mitzi’s “thinking”, we need to state, Every Right Wing Christian (For since 9-11 more terrorist attacks have been committed in America by the far Right than by the Muslims they hate.) should be required to be registered and their DNA, fingerprints et al should be recorded. They should also have to carry ID cards.

Only a buffoon believes American Right wing Christianity is a "Religion of Peace." ISIS itself has Right Wing Christian Bush to thank for their existence.

Time for Mitzi to register “her” DNA and fingerprints and be assigned “her” new ID card, so we all know who the next potential Right Wing terrorist will be.

Mitzi apparently likes the idea of interment camps too, even though Reagan apologized for that stain on our Constitution.

Reagan must have been a commie for disagreeing with "Mitzi", amirite?

How come if I stood up in a crowded restaurant and shouted "Allahu Akbhar", everyone would dive under their table.

But if I were to jump up and shout “Jesus Christ is Lord”, people would merely pause, look at me like I had 2 heads and then go on eating.

Dave Dubya,

Moderate Muslims like you need to fight back against your extremist co-religionists by developing the 'faith' out of its medieval world view in much the same way the reformation made Christianity progress in the developing world of the 16th Century and which allowed science and trade to flourish.

Where is the Muslim Luther?

It is the clash of the medieval faith and modern world in which they actually live (developed in post reformation christian states) that is the cause of so much confusion to the infantile fanatics who become terrorists. This is not to excuse them, however. amirite?

Is it Christian arrogance, or Right wing fanaticism, for "Mitzi" to assume a person is Muslim? "Her" tight shoes must be a distraction to "her" thinking.

Why does "she" remind me of "Tyrone Witherspoon(s)"?

Yes, the same applies to Christian terrorists who murder doctors, or peaceful Unitarians and Blacks in their churches. Westboro Baptists are also notorious for their cruel insensitivity to the grief of veterans'and others' families. They are also demented enough to think they are doing "God's work".

Many people of diverse beliefs in developed countries cling to medieval thinking.

Hannity Misreads A Pew Study To Claim That "Significant" Numbers Of Muslims Support ISIS
Pew Study: "In Nations With Significant Muslim Populations, Much Disdain For ISIS"

Radio host and Fox News personality Sean Hannity grossly misrepresented a Pew Research poll detailing views of ISIS in countries with significant Muslim populations to misleadingly claim that there are "significant levels of support for ISIS within the Muslim world." The survey actually found that Muslim views of ISIS are "overwhelmingly negative."

On the November 20 edition of The Sean Hannity Show, Hannity claimed that a new Pew poll "reveals significant levels of support for ISIS within the Muslim world." He also alleged that the poll showed that there could be hundreds of millions of ISIS sympathizers and added that "numbers are far greater than the world has acknowledged."

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): How about we look at the poll numbers they put out, and let's talk about whether or not this could be true, because it reveals significant levels of support for ISIS within the Muslim world. They went to 11 representative nation-states -- excuse me, let me finish my question -- and up to 14 percent of the population has a favorable view of ISIS, and upwards of 62 percent can't decide. They don't know whether they have a favorable opinion. Don't you find those numbers chilling?

[...]

HANNITY: I am looking at these numbers, between 63 million and 287 million ISIS supporters in just 11 countries.

However, the Pew poll found that the data showed "overwhelmingly ... negative views of ISIS" in the eleven countries. From Pew:

According to newly released data that the Pew Research Center collected in 11 countries with significant Muslim populations, people from Nigeria to Jordan to Indonesia overwhelmingly expressed negative views of ISIS.

One exception was Pakistan, where a majority offered no definite opinion of ISIS. The nationally representative surveys were conducted as part of the Pew Research Center's annual global poll in April and May this year.

In no country surveyed did more than 15% of the population show favorable attitudes toward Islamic State. And in those countries with mixed religious and ethnic populations, negative views of ISIS cut across these lines.

A stroke? LOL!! I guess the hood fits.

Chuckie has been calling me a commie for years. Why? Because he's an idiot.

Does it bother me? No. I'm used to idiots calling me a commie. I've been called far worse by other idiots. Despite Chuckie's numerous episodes linking other names to a commie site, he still has no clue what communism is. He has no clue what socialism is. He has no clue to what the differences are.

Just as he has no clue about the socialist provisions of our Constitution. He HATES the fact we have constitutional regulation of commerce and the general welfare. Even the founders established a tax for health care.

If he hates America so much he should leave.

He's too ignorant to understand. All that matters to him is to try to tear down all resistance to his beloved and totally corrupt GOP.

This is why he emulates fascists by demonizing those who don't drink his koolade.

How are those heels, Chuckie?

Are you Klan member?

Why do you and Klansmen claim to be Christian?

What have you done to follow the second of the Two Greatest commandments?

Do you love your enemies?

Is it Christian to ignore the second of these commandments?

What evidence do you have that I am afraid of or hate anything?

The Growing Right-Wing Terror Threat

...Right-wing extremists averaged 337 attacks per year in the decade after 9/11, causing a total of 254 fatalities, according to a study by Arie Perliger, a professor at the United States Military Academy’s Combating Terrorism Center. The toll has increased since the study was released in 2012.
