Donald! Donald! Uber Alles!

A couple of years ago on this site I noted that within less than fifty years time (a microsecond in terms of human history) white people would no longer be the ruling majority in this country. My prediction was that the most important story of the next couple of generations would be how Americans in general (and white Americans in particular) would deal with this inevitable, non-deniable sociological reality. Judging by the behavior of the folks attending two mass rallies for Donald Trump yesterday, one in St. Louis, the other in Chicago (which had to be canceled due to the threat of immanent violence), we're not off to a very promising start.

When he announced way back in June that he was seeking the office of the presidency, no one (myself included) took The Donald's candidacy very seriously. Nine months later we find that he is on the verge of becoming the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party. No doubt about it, 2016 is turning out to be one very strange political year.

I have this nagging suspicion that the Democrats have secretly hired Donald Trump and Ted Cruz as undercover espionage agents to infiltrate the GOP in order to do as much damage to that disgusting party as is humanly possible to do. If that is indeed the case, they could not have succeeded more brilliantly in hammering the final nails into the coffin of an organization that was founded one-hundred and sixty years ago for the noble purpose of ending slavery in the United States. Think about that for a second: From Abraham Lincoln to Donald Trump. In the parlance of Alcoholics Anonymous, that is what is known as "hitting rock bottom". Is it any wonder that the blubbering pinheads on the Republican National Committee are in the process of a collective nervous breakdown? Did you ever see such a sight in your life? CAN I GET A WITNESS???

What a long, strange trip it's been....

The passing of Nancy Reagan this week has rendered the American people, yet again, nostalgic for the days of Ronniemania. I was never a fan of the gipper; in fact it has always been my opinion that the damage the old freak did to this country was so immense that it would never be accurately assessed - we're talking incalculable here, kids! And yet, even I (and I'm loathe to admit it), have found myself these past few days looking back upon the Reagan years with a nauseating sense of twisted longing. Even Dubya is starting to seem marginally palatable to me. Can you believe that? Give a starving dog a piece of rancid sirloin and the poor creature will eat it every single time.

The only reason the phenomenon of Donald Trump was such a surprise is simply that, in studying the GOP's devolution, a lot of us assumed that it would take another few years before things got as weird as they are at present. It is obvious to anyone paying attention for the last thirty-five years that the Republicans have been inching themselves - slowly but surely - to a very dark and disturbing place. Some of us have been caught off guard to learn that the "inching" has been a little faster than we had previously suspected. This is a party that has lost its reason - or have you already noticed?

Straitjackets for elephants. Has anyone thought of that?

I'm trying to convince myself that, after witnessing the behavior yesterday of the Trump Mob in Chicago and St. Louis, the voters in this Tuesday's primaries might be smart enough to pause and ask themselves if this is really the road America needs to go down. Of course, that would be giving them more credit that they deserve. Maybe they'll surprise me. I'll let you know if a pig flies by my window.

AFTERTHOUGHT:

George Martin has died at age ninety. I'm happy to say that I had the honor of meeting him back in 1997. And to think that in 1962 he would take a gamble on signing up a band of unknown scruffs from Liverpool to a recording contract. That is just one example of the debt we owe this courageous and visionary musician.

SUGGESTED READING:

In 2010 George Martin's son, Giles, gave a personal tour of the Abbey Road/EMI studio facilities to my brother, Pete, our pal Kevin Swanwick, and yours truly. Here is a link to a piece I wrote about it at the time:

We followed her down from a bridge by a fountain, and she led us to the doors of Studio Two. Life is beautiful.

There are similarities to the two. I predict a long, hot, summer.

Perhaps, as a great Missourian once proclaimed...and I paraphrase: "History may not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme." As I've mentioned several times before, on this blog and others, we're heading for the worst times in our lives.

I am reminded that DT also could mean Delerium Tantrum; an affliction that many of the Trumpites carry. So here he is, still trying to fashion an argument that any voice different than his is violating HIS perverted and false interpreatation of the 1st.
The First Amendment holding in Schenck (falsely yell fire in a crowded theatre)was later overturned by Brandenburg v. Ohio in 1969, which limited the scope of banned speech to that which would be directed to and likely to incite imminent lawless action (e.g. a riot). Certainly DT is striding the line on that ruling with his podium rhetoric.
Personally, I believe Trump first entered strictly to get Jeb! out. His publicly fueled narcissm has kept him self-relevant; now he is looking for any reason for the GOP to abandon him so he can run independent. The GOP will have a big decision to make come July. That being whether to spend RNC funds to support his campaign. Pull the funding support - surrender the White House, perhaps save the Senate. Fund the idiot, loose the White House and 50/50 on loose the Senate.

More hate filled violence from the dangerous socialist, liberal progressive democrat.
Time to point fingers at Trump.

"An attempted physical attack on Donald Trump took place earlier today in Dayton Ohio – DETAILS HERE – The attacker was identified as Tommy DiMassimo.

A student of Wright University in Dayton Ohio, Tom Dimassimo is a progressive leftist thug who has participated in various protests including flag burning

By his own admissions DiMassimo is self-identified as an activist with Black Lives Matter, and various left-wing social justice groups. In addition he’s a Bernie Sanders supporter.

However, shocking new video has now surfaced of Tommy DiMassimo also participating in ISIS propaganda videos, and possibly being a part of their anti-U.S. agenda. This video was uploaded in May 2015. You can see DiMassimo is the principal subject within the video which begins with him dragging a flag and talking to the camera operator:"

http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/news/a42970/trump-isis-conspiracy-theories/

Donald Trump just proved he's as gullible as your Great Aunt Sally when it comes to believing internet conspiracy theories. His latest crazypants assertion is that the protester who tried to jump onstage at Trump's Columbus, Ohio rally is affiliated with ISIS.

The protester, Thomas Dimassimo, was detained by Secret Service agents before he could get near the candidate. After the rally, Trump tweeted a video that he claimed linked Dimassimo to ISIS.

The video opens with a photo allegedly of Dimassimo holding a gun and superimposed over an ISIS flag. It then cuts to footage of Dimassimo dragging an American flag on the ground while Middle Eastern music plays.

Trump's conspiracy theory: After Chuck Todd pointed out the video was a hoax in a Meet the Press interview Sunday, Trump said he didn't care and refused to back down from his claims. "You didn't see the clip. [Dimassimo] was playing Arabic music, he was dragging the flag along the ground, and he had internet chatter with ISIS and about ISIS," Trump said. "What do I know about it? All I know is what's on the Internet."

The truth: Dimassimo, a student at Wright State University, participated in a protest in April 2015 in solidarity with Eric Sheppard, who staged a protest standing on the American flag earlier that year. He posted it to his YouTube page. As local news reported at the time, this protest was for racial justice and equal rights. It appears a troll took the original protest video and doctored it (pretty poorly, we might add) to look like Dimassimo supported ISIS.

"What happens when a Democratic lawmaker strays from party leaders on a key piece of Gov. Jerry Brown’s policy agenda? One assemblywoman who held back support for a sweeping climate-change bill last year is starting to find out.

Assemblywoman Cheryl Brown (D-San Bernardino) was among a group of business-aligned Democrats who objected to a provision in the bill, SB 350, that would have cut California's motor vehicle petroleum use in half by 2030.

Now Brown, a moderate, is facing what could be a bruising reelection fight against an intraparty challenger from the left, attorney Eloise Gomez Reyes. The race raises a question: What does it mean to be a Democrat in San Bernardino, where concerns over jobs often compete with those about the environment?

Some early signs indicate Brown could be in trouble. Protesters have shown up at her local events. Some of her supporters have defected, endorsing Reyes early in the fight.

“Do you ever feel that something is not going quite right?” Brown said in a recent phone interview. “They are after me, and I still don’t know why. I don’t know who ‘they’ are. But I will find out soon.”

Last week, Brown's suspicions began to crystallize when a dozen students in breathing masks from San Bernardino Valley College threw themselves on the floor of a town hall meeting she hosted." (Must have been the Young Republican Club, as it just couldn't be Moveon.org or Occupy Wall Street)

Hey Great Aunt Chuck Sally... speaking of lies:

When news broke early Friday night that the Chicago rally had been cancelled because of safety fears, you didn’t need to be a programming genius to predict what would be jamming America’s airwaves for the rest of the night. And for the next four hours, the candidate who is promising to weaken libel laws spoke on cable news channels about how his First Amendment rights were being violated. He was doing all of this while reaching a far larger audience than he could have ever done while actually speaking at a rally…

The rally was cancelled, we were told, because law enforcement officials consulted with the campaign and concluded that scrubbing the event was in the best interest of public safety. One problem: The Chicago Police Department said that never actually happened.

And if you find that curious, perhaps you will find it even more interesting that a political campaign whose security has been so stifling as to draw angry comparisons to fascist regimes would plan a key rally for Trump in the middle of a racially diverse urban campus. The fact that that campus sits in the middle of a city that is so Democratic that it has not elected a Republican mayor since before Franklin Roosevelt was sworn in as president makes the venue’s selection even more bizarre.

Following the rally’s cancellation, Trump supporters expressed surprise at the number of protesters that were filling the lines and streaming into the event on a campus that is 25 percent Hispanic, 25 percent Asian and 8 percent black. William Daley, the son of former Chicago mayor Richard J. Daley, did not share that surprise. “Whoever picked that location knew what they were doing as far as poking that sleeping dog there,” Daley suggested to the New York Times that the venue was staged for the purpose of provoking protests that would energize Trump’s own supporters…

[2006] The Authoritarians” by Bob Altemeyer
Conservatives Without Conscience by John Dean
Quotes by Bob Altemeyer

Probably about 20 to 25 percent of the adult American population is so right-wing authoritarian, so scared, so self-righteous, so ill-informed, and so dogmatic that nothing you can say or do will change their minds. They would march America into a dictatorship and probably feel that things had improved as a result. … And they are so submissive to their leaders that they will believe and do virtually anything they are told. They are not going to let up and they are not going away.

Experiments show that high RWAs are so defensive and so unaware of themselves that when you tell them what high RWAs are like, they almost always think you're talking about somebody else. So I predict most authoritarian followers would sail right through this book and compartmentalize, misinterpret, rationalize, and dogmatically deny it had anything to do with them personally. If you tried to force this self-awareness on them, they would probably run away, run away, as fast as they could. So good luck if you passed on this URL to your fascist Uncle George.
(Or Chuck Morre)

.......I similarly think you'll likely be wasting your time trying to convince authoritarian followers that they are being systematically misinformed and played for dopes by their leaders. It's too important to them to believe otherwise, and just your raising the question will likely put you into their huge out-group and make them suspicious of you. p.239 [2006] The Authoritarians”

And while most Americans came to realize what a mistake the war in Iraq has turned out to be, high RWAs lagged far behind. They listen to the news they want to hear.

(“Saddam has ties to al-Qaeda”, has aluminum tubes for a “nukular” weapons program and “biological labs” etc.)

The above descriptions explain how RWA Chuck Morre will still support Trump's lie about an "ISIS propaganda video".

Never retract falsehoods. Never admit to error. Never abandon any lie from an authoritarian leader.

His party's ideology is summed up nicely:

The establishment Republican ideology prioritizes capital above all else. For them, the market does not exist to serve people: people exist to serve the market. Unregulated capitalism can never fail; it can only be failed by those too lazy, useless and unproductive to serve and profit by it. It is a totalizing ideology as impractical as state communism but lacking the silver lining of its species-being idealism; as impervious to reason as any cult religion, but lacking the promise of community, salvation or utopia; as brutal as any dictatorship, but without the advantage of order and security. Worst of all, it blames its victims for its failure to provide solutions to their needs. - David Atkins

More high-profile resignations at Breitbart, after abused reporter thrown under Trump's bus

After Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields was roughed up by one of Donald Trump's aides while covering a Florida campaign event, the company's senior management sided with Trump, ordering staff to cease communicating about their colleague's treatment.

Fields and editor-at-large Ben Shapiro have both resigned in protest, penning scorching statements condemning their employer and naming Breitbart News chairman Steve Bannon as specifically culpable, accusing him of betraying founder Andrew Breitbart's "mission."

Shapiro accused Bannon of turning the news site "into Trump’s personal Pravda."

“Both Lewandowski and Trump maligned Michelle in the most repulsive fashion,” Shapiro wrote in his resignation statement. “Meanwhile, Breitbart News not only stood by and did nothing outside of tepidly asking for an apology, they then attempted to abandon Michelle by silencing staff from tweeting or talking about the issue. Finally, in the ultimate indignity, they undermined Michelle completely by running a poorly-evidenced conspiracy theory as their lead story in which Michelle and Terris had somehow misidentified Lewandowski.”

The exodus, which began with the company’s spokesman Kurt Bardella, is unlikely to end with Fields and Shapiro. Three sources say multiple staffers are searching for a way out of the company — with several actively circulating résumés, according to two sources — and more resignations could follow in the coming days and weeks. The company is known for having editorial employees sign unusually strict contracts, at least some of which include non-compete clauses that could make it difficult to leave Breitbart for another news outlet.

Relations between Bannon and the site’s staff — which were already fraught with tension over the direction and editorial vision for the company — have deteriorated sharply over the episode with the Trump campaign. According to one company source with knowledge of the situation, some editors have discussed telling Breitbart News CEO Larry Solov they will quit unless Bannon is ousted. Solov did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday night.

Trump Thug attacks students:

Muslim student at Wichita State reports attack by man shouting ‘Trump, Trump, Trump’

A Muslim student at Wichita State University says he and a Hispanic friend, who also is a student, were attacked over the weekend by a man who shouted racial epithets and “Trump, Trump, Trump” before riding away on his motorcycle.

Khondoker Usama, the student body vice president at Wichita State, who is Muslim, said he and a Hispanic friend, who so far has chosen to remain anonymous, were filling their vehicle at the gas pumps at a Kwik Shop near campus at 21st and Oliver early Saturday when a man in his 20s or 30s started calling a black customer at the convenience store a racial epithet.

“Then suddenly it turned onto us, calling us ‘brown trash, go home. Trump will win,’ ” Usama said.

Then the man approached the students and, according to Usama, said, “You want to live in this country, you better leave.”

But Usama said his friend told the man: “This is my country; who are you to tell me that?”
The exchange was heated, Usama said, and he tried to defuse the situation, but his friend got punched and taken to the ground. He said he tried to get between the attacker and his friend but then was pushed himself. He thought he saw the attacker reaching for his pocket and feared he had a weapon, he said, so he backed away and called 911.

“He kept kicking the student who was laying on the ground,” Usama said. “He was kicking him; it was a gut-wrenching scene. He saw that I was calling the police and got back on his motorcycle and circled around us and was saying ‘Trump, Trump, Trump, we will make America great again. You losers will be thrown out of the wall.’

“This was a guy that was looking to do harm. It was probably ISIS or ISIS-related, can you believe it?”

"He has ties to ISIS" - Reichsmarschall Donald Drumph

"shocking new video has now surfaced of Tommy DiMassimo also participating in ISIS propaganda videos, and possibly being a part of their anti-U.S. agenda." - Loyal Brown Shirt Trumpie Cluckie

When these two agree, what more proof do we need that liberals are ISIS, and Obama is a Kenyan Marxist, amirite? Cluckie's got it all figured out for us.

Howls of laughter from the Hired Thugs Committee of the "Anti Liberty Radical Socialist ISIS Community Organizer Center", St. Louis Chapter.

"End corporate personhood! Expand voting rights! Healthcare is a right for all! Oh, and Allahu Akbar!"

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) – Kansas City police say four people who were arrested at a weekend rally for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have been issued disorderly conduct citations.

The Kansas City Star reports that the ticketed protesters were 22-year-old Kendrick Washington, of Chicago; 20-year-old Alexander Fisher, of Overland Park, Kansas; 28-year-old Shane Stange, of Kansas City; and 37-year-old Megan Gallant, of Kansas City.

Protests erupted Saturday night during the Trump rally in downtown Kansas City. Capt. Tye Grant says police are pleased no one was injured. He says officers used pepper spray twice, both times when protesters tried to step into the street.

Gallant’s lawyer, Rick Johnson, says his client was misidentified by police and wasn’t participating in the protest. It wasn’t immediately clear if the other three had attorneys.

Once more Quacky proves he cannot think for himself.

Trump using Hitler tactics, having his THUGS beat up anyone who dares to show any resistance to his planned takeover of America

NOW Trump is forming his own "brown shirt" squad to take care of "protesters" because the police will not follow his orders. It's almost like they don't believe they are working for HIM.

And Quacky worries about what perfume Hillary is wearing.

A newscaster on Russian state television came out in full support of Trump, calling him “anti-establishment.”

Trump is also a fan of Putin, bless their kindred little sociopath hearts.

Vote Trump. "Make Russian Great Again".
