You were forewarned - not only on this site - but by scores of other commentators. This corrupt and disgusting imbecile would eventually go after his political enemies. Anyone paying a molecule of attention should have known that something as outrageous as this would eventually happen. Unfortunately not too many of Americans had their eye on the ball. That is why we find ourselves in the situation we're in today. This is something that transpired for no other reason than the complete and utter stupidity of a significant minority of the American electorate. Pat yourselves on the back.At a press conference earlier this week, Our Piece-of-Shit-in-Chief started to babble on about "Obamagate". When asked what, exactly, he meant by that, as a mentally disturbed twelve-year-old might have done, he told the inquisitive reporter that it was a story that the FAKE NEWS MEDIA was ignoring, but was unable to offer any other details. What is happening is akin to Hitler's Night of the Long Knives in 1934. That was the moment that der fuehrer assassinated scores of people he perceived to be his political enemies. Is Trump going to have his "enemies" murdered in cold blood? I'm waiting to find out the answer to that question. I wouldn't put it past the disgusting old bastard.

This situation wouldn't be so perilous (and I cannot believe I'm saying this) if Jefferson Beauregard Sessions was still in charge of the Department of Justice. For all his flaws as a senator, old Jeff was able to keep Trump's weirder instincts at bay. Not so with Billy Barr. Bill has bowed to Trump's every moronic and illegal whim. Between Roger Stone and Mike Flynn, I never dreamed that I would be looking back on the sick reigns of John Mitchell and Ed Meese with a sense od teary-eyed nostalgia. Things have actually gotten that weird.
I never dreamed that America would fall this low. I am nostalgic for George W. Bush. Somebody shoot me please.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz determined late last year the FBI properly opened its counterintelligence investigation, known as Crossfire Hurricane, into potential ties between the Kremlin and Trump campaign in the summer of 2016. After FBI Director James Comey was fired by Trump in May 2017, Mueller was appointed to be the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation.
The watchdog also determined that the bureau made "at least 17 significant errors or omissions" in the applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants spanning from October 2016 to the summer of 2017 that targeted former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The FBI used Steele's dossier to obtain those warrants.
Under oath witness told Mueller they found no evidence of collusion between Trump campaign and the Russians..while at the same time publicly claiming the compete opposite.

That statement is not quite accurate. Barr hasn't merely bowed. He has volunteered, and in some cases he has led the way. He has in essence pledged to be Trump's hit man. And so far, he's delivering.

I know you said you were nostalgic for Bush for comedic effect but I could never be nostalgic for any Republican. Bush was abysmal. They want to destroy government and now, under Trump, have become truly fascist. Not to mention that Republicans are so dumb that they don't realize that FDR saved capitalism (which they profess to love so much). The one percent are very skilled at manipulating the non-thinking, reactionary voters.
I joke with my friends and tell them that I'm gonna start a petition to have Michigan secede from the union and become a province of Canada. At this point I feel that I made a mistake in the 1980's starting my career in the U.S. I wish I would have moved to Toronto or Montreal after college and started my career there. Ooops.

A cursory examination of the Steele Dossier should have convinced the CIA or the FBI that it was fake news. Any residual doubt would have vanished after learning that its author, Christopher Steele, was an opposition researcher paid by the Democrats to dig up dirt on Trump. That our most sophisticated government officials acted as if the Dossier were legitimate leads to only one conclusion. They were a knowing and willing part of the Democratic and media smear of a presidential contender, and then president, that paralyzed U.S. politics for three years.
We now know that the Steele Dossier is bogus. Inspector General Michael Horowitz drove the final stake through its heart. He found that the Dossier was compiled from hearsay and third-hand gossip from two low-level sources and that they denied the testimony attributed to them. The only “verified” information that Horowitz found was available from public sources.
