Karl Rove Has Left The Building

Although the day passed totally - deservedly - unnoticed, May 2, 2007 marked the fiftieth anniversary of the death Joseph R. McCarthy. I only mention this fact because no one in the last half century has replicated more the corrosive effect the red-baiting Wisconsin Senator had on the American political system than Karl Rove - NO ONE.
`
It became official yesterday morning. At an 11:30 AM Rose Garden appearance, it was announced that Karl Rove - known by the press as "Bush's Brain"; called "The Architect" or "Turd Blossom" by Bush himself (depending on the hideous little bastard's mood) - will be sent packin' off to Texas at the end of August. The official excuse? He wants to spend more time with his family. Of course he does. That's the line all of the rats fleeing this sinking ship of a White House are using. The truth is a little more complicated than that. The fact of the matter is that Karl Rove realizes that the jig is up. He knows that the multiple indictments are going to be coming down any day now. He thinks that by running home to the Lone Star State, he'll somehow be able to avoid answering for the crimes he has committed against the American people. The only question remaining is when the First Fool will give him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
.
Say what you want to about the man, it can not be argued that Karl Rove is a political genius. When all of the dust is settled it will have to be conceded that he was able to take a pathetic moron like George W. Bush and not only make him look presidential, he was able to manipulate a huge segment of the American people into thinking that sending the little thug to the Executive Mansion was a really neat idea! Several presidents in American history have had Rove-like equivalents at their beck and call: William McKinley had Mark Hanna; Franklin D. Roosevelt had Louie Howe; Harry S Truman had Clark Clifford....But nowhere - nowhere - in history is there anyone who even approaches Karl Rove in terms of pure Machiavellian intrigue. Hats off to the man.
`
As has been apparent with this disgusting administration from the very beginning, appearances are everything. Just because he will no longer be a physical presence in Washington, does not mean he won't be making himself known. Like the ghost of Hamlet's father, the spirit of Karl Rove will be hovering over the Bush Mob until the day this scandal ridden White House is pulverized into dust. This is all a matter of cosmetics. Rove will still be dictating political policy for quite some time. Count on it.
.
It is telling that his very first mention in the main stream media was way back during the summer of Watergate. On August 10, 1973, a Washington Post story highlighted the fact that a young upstart named Karl Rove was being accused by his fellow Young Republicans of dirty tricks. This was just the beginning of a career of a man that a Texas acquaintance once described as the political equivalent of a "junk yard dog." Throughout the years Rove's strategy has been to go after an opponent's strengths rather than his weaknesses. A case in point would be the so-called Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a Rovian operation that was brazen enough to challenge the credibility of Purple Heart recipient John Kerry's military service during the war in Viet Nam. After the New Hampshire presidential primary in 2000, when John McCain received forty-nine percent of the vote to Bush's thirty-nine percent, Rove was ready in South Carolina the following week. It is accurately remembered as the dirtiest campaign of at least the last one hundred years.
.
A number of years before, McCain and his wife Cindy had adopted a beautiful brown skinned baby from one of Mother Theresa's orphanages. What the Rove Nazis did in South Carolina in the Spring of 2000 was beyond despicable; it was absolutely evil. In his campaign literature, the Arizona senator had made no secret of his daughter's racial identity - she had been featured prominently in all distributed family photographs. The Bush campaign - with Karl Rove conducting the orchestra - made thousands of night time phone calls to the South Carolinian voters who are (let's face facts) just about the stupidest people on the planet Earth. You don't believe it? I have just two words for you: "Strom Thurmond". Case closed. When asked, "How would you feel were you to find out that Senator McCain had an out-of-wedlock daughter with a black prostitute?" the geniuses in South Carolina put two and two together and somehow came up with five. From that moment on, McCain's quest for the presidency was doomed.
.
But it was never merely winning a political battle that was important to Karl Rove - he was intent on destroying any political opponent who got in his way - Republican or Democrat. There are too many stories to count of Democrats in the state of Texas who had investigations initiated against them at Rove's behest - two of them in particular would wind up going to prison on charges that they were absolutely innocent of. Their only crime was that they walked into the political cross hairs of Karl Rove. This practice continued into the Bush White House and is the heart of the investigation of the Gonzalez Justice Department. The reason those eight U.S. attorneys were fired last year was because they either refused to prosecute Democrats who were probably innocent or that they insisted on going after Republicans who were probably guilty. That is the reason Rove is leaving the government at the end of the month. The noose is tightening.
.
Does Karl Rove honestly believe he will be able to escape justice by running away from the mess he has helped create? Does he really think that he'll be able to ignore any further congressional subpoenas that will no doubt be issued against him? My guess is that he does. Remember, if there is one thing all of these people have in common it is their unprecedented arrogance. I'm sure that he and Dubya have already worked out the fine points on the pardon - one of the hundreds that Bush will be forced into granting in the hours before his entire presidency falls of its own criminally incompetent weight.
.
This just keeps getting weirder and weirder, does it not? Word is out that one of the projects that will keep Rove occupied in the months to come will be the writing of his memoirs. What I would like to know is how many people are going to be dumb enough to purchase the book in the hope that they will be getting an honest, unvarnished look into the inner workings of the Bush White House? What publishing house will be disreputable enough to give him a nine-figured advance?
.
Of this you may be absolutely certain: The presidency of George W. Bush is on the verge of its death knells. It will be a miracle if it survives the year.
.
OH, MAN! I'M LOVIN' THIS!

AFTERTHOUGHT:
It has just been announced that Karl Rove will be appearing on NBC's Meet The Press with Tim Russert on Sunday, August 19. THAT should be interesting, indeed!

Tom-

I have a feeling that Bush will attack Iran, which will give him the power to call a state of marshal law thereby closing a 2008 presidential election. I do not think Bush is going to leave the white house. He just seems to be too confident. The man is stupid- not insane- which is something most do not realize which is why I feel we haven't seen the worst of this yet.

Dear Tom,

I think my sanity would suffer without your Rant. You are so right about these being very weird times. Sometimes I wonder if our country isn't suffering through some rough period of retrograde influence from the universe, where energy is flowing to all the wrong people and empowering them while decent folks can't rouse from their deep sleep to take in what is going on.

It can be a very uncomfortable moment - the moment of truth when you realize you've been lied to about something really important, like going to war. I predict when there is sudden awareness of the extent of the lies we've been fed the past six years there will be a shortage of stomach remedies all across the country. The problem is that one discovered lie leads to another and another and another...it is simply overwhelming. No wonder there is so much resistance to the truth.

If you tell people, "Bush lied about WMD and Al Quaida in Iraq," they'll say, "Right, and next you're going to tell me there is a secret cabal of evil geniuses controlling the White House, and that they all believe some crazy end-time prophecy that America has to get into all these wars and they've been planning this for decades?!! Next you'll be telling me that 9/11 was done on purpose to get us into Iraq, right?"

The task we face is to get people to believe they've been lied to about just one thing, and then watch the domino effect take place as they connect that one lie to all the others. Like the Germans got to see the Berlin wall come down, we will get to see this rotten, lying administration fall down. Only it will be much more fun than watching a bunch of bricks hit the ground.

It would be so sweet if all these evil geniuses would have to hide from public view the rest of their lives, I wouldn't feel a bit sorry for them. May all their descendants become liberal activists just to stick it to them!

I have a bad feeling the VO is right about Iran being attacked and Martial Law being declared, and that we haven't seen the worst the bush administration can dole out.

I would not write off this administration just yet.
Unfortunately Congress can't even get the obviously corrupt Attorney General replaced.

I will be happy if WE survive the next sixor eight months. If Bush's administration is in its death throes, they may resemble Hitler's.

Dear Tom,
Oh what a lovely rant you have written! KKKarl Rove is a venomous, vicious, vile reptile. He has lowered the bar of American politics to the level of the rock under which he dwells in darkness and fetid slime. He is the Republican Standard Bearer of Dirty Politics. He has made slander, lies, character assassination, and misinformation into a finely honed art. He is ruthless, totally devoid of ethics, and totally devoid of human decency. He is, in fact, no longer a part of the human species, since he lacks any form of a soul or conscience. "Any Means To An End" is his lifelong motto. One wag on Huffpost proclaimed: "Karl Rove is a Pig F....r!" That isn't fair to pigs. They do not deserve such abuse from KKKarl Rove, being far more advanced than him. He and his soulmates, Bush and Cheney, will continue to be in touch. Vultures of a Feather stay together. I hope the day will come when these soulmates will become cellmates. Like rabid rats, they just might turn on one another and rid the human race of some particularly nasty vermin.
As for what several others said about attacking Iran and imposing Martial Law, I wouldnt put any act of pure insanity past this pack of thugs and thieves. They are bound to pull one more horrific stunt. I can't see them leaving office gracefully.

Hi Tom,

I also agree with VO that there will not be a 2008 election. As for Rove, I am sure that we have not seen the last of him; he is simply off to more devious and nefarious deeds. However there is one other interesting theory circulating in which Cheney has forced this departure because of Rove's hanging Libby out to dry for the Valerie Plame affair.

As bad as all of this is, as a practicing Buddhist, I also believe in cause and effect and Rove's trangressions are going to turn on him. He will be called upon to answer for all of his misdeeds and I hope to goodness that he spends the rest of his days rotting in prison.

Tom-

There is a slight chance- very slight, that the ultimate plan and next step into the NWO is for Americans to believe it and want it of our own free will- GW Bush pushed way to fast, so it is possible that a next administration could buy some time for slower indoctrination. Sadly we would see more 9/11 scams that would be more elaborate to lull the masses into believing in sheer terrorism. The stage is already set for NWO and they are already printing the new currency (Amero)- but because it has not been intro duced or even circulated (like the $100,000.00 bill was among bankers but kept from the public) there is an opportunity for a brief withdrawl giving us time to organize a revoloution and over-throw the government. The house of cards fall and we have a chance to reinvent ourselves.

Largely this is due to the Federal Reserve failing- we need to jump on that because its the onlu possible stall.

This window of opportunity is very small because the next President select- (if they actually do pause and step back) will be Rudy Guliani (Rudy is the perfect puppet). Hilary is too unpredictable and self serving. Obama is too young, hip and slick- and he can't even beat a woman no one can stand. This leaves only Guliani- who is more likely to take orders with least resistance and has NO CONCERN and only contempt for Americans.

NWO drawback on Guliani is his mental instability- we saw how Cheney is always lurking in the background feeding GW his lines- Guliani is insane and there is an element of unpredictablity (seriously he is likely to get drunk with power and end up in the backroom of a bar with his skirt hiked up with God knows what in his mouth or up his ass!-Seriously this guy is scary).

Hence I feel they are going to run with this one. Its too late for anyone worthy of the public trust to enter the race.

Either step back and re-inforce false confidence in the public- or fuck it and run with the plan.

If Blackwater pulls out of Iraq and comes home- Marshall Law will be months away. That's the clue- like Hitler- Bush's private army will surround him during the lull.
