Still MORE Right Wing Lunacy

Ever heard of Lou Pritchett? I had never heard of the man before Saturday afternoon when my friend, Yvonne, e-mailed me me something he wrote that has been making its way through cyberspace in recent months. The piece, which is called "An Open Letter to President Obama", is so stupidly written that under normal circumstances I would have dismissed it as a hoax - or the type of satire made famous by the late Lenny Bruce. But these are not normal circumstances and these people are anything but "normal". As Tom Lehrer once observed ,"Satire died the day they gave Henry Kissinger the Nobel Peace Prize."

According to a google search, he is "an acclaimed author, teacher and speaker." Acclaimed by whom is not made clear
. He is also, if I'm to believe what I read, a former executive with Proctor and Gamble, a company based in Cincinnati, Ohio, whose contribution to the American marketplace ranges from Puffs facial tissue to Old Spice aftershave. The twenty-one paragraphs in his letter are mercifully brief. I am presenting the complete text here with my naughty comments sprinkled within. The guy is a laugh riot:

"Dear President Obama: You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me."

Woooooh! The Big, Black, Bolshevik Boogieman's gonna git'cha!

"You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you."

I'm sorry, Lou, but the question is just screaming to be asked: Have you been reading the newspapers in the last three years? I was just curious.

"You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support."

Lou! You caught us red-handed!! His education was funded by Democracy Now, The American Communist Party and Ed Asner. Call it a hunch, but I have a funny feeling that the very thought of a successful, upper class black man doesn't sit too well with you. I'm not far off the mark, am I? Not that it's any of my business, but who the hell paid for your education, Lou?

"You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American."

Sure, Lou, he's a Kenyan born Arab terrorist. And I'm Carlos the Jackal. Medications, please!

"You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll"

You've got a valid point here, Louie boy! The same could be said of John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and George Washington - and we all know how disastrous their administrations turned out to be. NEXT....

"You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core."

True. We need a man in there with the military experience of George W. Bush. You're a scream, Lou!

"You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others."

This statement is so unbelievably moronic, I'm not even going to bother commenting on it.

"You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail."

Radicals who wish to see America fail? Who are you talking about, Lou? Oh! You must mean Teddy Kennedy and Arlen Specter! Good point, Lou. Let's move on, shall we?

"You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the 'blame America' crowd and deliver this message abroad."

Are you referring, perchance, to Obama's official apology for the CIA-fueled overthrow of the sovereign, democratically elected government of Iran in 1953 - which heralded the birth of the organized Islamic extremism that is our biggest headache today? You're absolutely right, Lou! Obama should not have apologized for that shameful chapter in our history. That apology should have come from President Eisenhower a half century ago.

"You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector."

Yeah, Lou, and he's going to force our teenage daughters to marry BLACK LESBIANS! Be afraid, Lou. Be very afraid.

"You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one."

Just like the ones in England and Canada that have worked pretty well for over fifty years? OH, MY GOSH! HEAD FOR THE HILLS!!!

"You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves."

Again, this one is just too damned nutty to even dignify with a comment.

"You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world."

Wrong again, Lou. Like FDR in the thirties, he is trying to save capitalism by "tempering it's excesses". Nice try, though.

"You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations."

You mean the same banks and corporations that have been looting the American economy for almost thirty years now? SHAME ON YOU, BARACK OBAMA!

"You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals."

An ironic statement if ever there was one, Lou. He and his political party scare the hell out of me for their failure to challenge wild and irresponsible clowns like you.

"You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people."

Are you speaking of his failure to consider the opinions of "intelligent people" like yourself, Lou? What is he thinking?

"You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient."

Omnipotent and omniscient??? Have another sip, Lou.

"You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do."

Obviously you don't watch FOX Noise or listen to AM radio, Lou. That's a very good sign.

"You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view."

When has he demonized any of these fools, Lou? How has he tried to silence them? Give me one example. I'm waiting.

"You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing."

How has President Obama attempted to control you, Lou? Forgive me for pointing this out in so public a forum, but you sound just a wee bit paranoid, Buster.

"Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years."

Yeah, Lou. Just keep it up and I promise you this: you'll end up in one of the many Left Wing Gulags that we're building - at this very moment - at President Barack HUSSEIN Obama's orders. Have a lovely day, Lou!

I will offer no further comment. Lou Pritchett's silly comments speak for themselves.

It deserves special note that Procter & Gamble has been the focal point of accusations regarding "demonic" messages conveyed by their corporate symbol (Yeah Man, looka all dem stars and broomsticks in their behind that wizard's hat).

From the State of Ohio, Congresswoman Jean Schmidt, while on the Floor of the US House of Representatives, denounced Congressman Murtha of Pennsylvania as a "coward". The decorated former Marine declined comment. This incident was followed by her on-camera recorded assurance to a constituent that President Obama was not a US citizen, despite her official statements to the contrary, and that it was the "courts" who were forcing him on the American people.

So, this guy is representedby Jean Schmidt, and he worked at Procter & Gamble?

Quick, some of you get the pitchforks, and the rest of you light torches (and you wonder why Ohio State can't beat anybody?).

Your replies are a hoot, Tom. As I read Pritchett's letter it occurred to me that if we substituted the name President Bush for President Obama it would be a lot more accurate. Okay, Bush didn't spend part of his youth in Kenya or Hawaii, but he did spend it in Texas (sometimes I think that's another country) and he did run a business - into bankruptcy.

Oh well, we all have our favorite whipping boys, I guess.

So let's just ask then, since you're being so accomodating:

1) What was the president's GPA at Columbia?

2) In whose home was his political career launched?

3) How come, before and during his campaign, he explicitly supported and called for the so called "public option" in health care, and now he says he's never supported it?

I'm just curious as to how you'd answer those.

Atom Smasher:

1. I don't know what Obama's grade point average was. Perhaps you can enlighten me.

2. I assume you are referring to Bill Ayers. His career was not launched in Ayers' home but you are partially right. Bill Ayers held one of the earliest (although not the first) fundraisers for Obama. Ayers is a changed man - much like David Horowitz - a conservative icon and former communist - is a changed man.

3. As far as his flip flop on the public option is concerned, yeah that pisses me off, too. Since you are a recent addition to the dialogue here, I'll tell you that I am not a blind supporter of the president. A quick check of the archives will bear that out.

All the best and thank you for contributing to the discussion.

Tom-

My only point is that I can't enlighten you about Obama's GPA because the records aren't public. None of his academic records have been made available.

So you can laugh at Lou and label him as paranoid, but the actual behavior of Obama on that teensy topic, as well as other, bigger topics, does not generate trust.

And I suspect that's Lou's overall point - trust. Or the lack thereof.

About Obama's schooling. Many years ago I started at the feed school to Obama's high school. I was only six when we left Hawaii but I had 2 years of French, basic arithmetic, science, and basic reading and spelling. Simplified for a child for sure, but far more than elsewhere.

The point being that if I had been able to go all the way through, I would have been better educated going into high school than most folks into college. Because of that anyone coming from the outside, (as Obama did) had to take college entrance exams to get into that high school.

Anyone graduating from that high school would have no trouble getting a full scholarship to any university they wished, as indeed Obama got to Harvard.

I suppose that the point is not much brought lest Punahoe be labeled an "elite" school, and in some ways it was, but only in what it taught, as kids there came from every sort of family.

Lou Pritchett's bizarre "logic" demonstrates a possible alternative cause of right-wing hysteria and anger....

If this opposition to Obama is not caused by fear of dark-skinned people, it is certainly caused by xenophobia. i.e Anything unknown must be evil and sinister. Conversely, anything unknown cannot be good and therefore must not be trusted.

Would these people apply the same rules to athletes or race horses? ...Or corporate executives?

What insults me most from right-wing hysterisists, is their assumption that anyone who supports Obama is not only stupid, but incapable of changing their minds.

They believe if Obama started implementing their nightmare scenarios, the rest of us would stand by and let it happen -- or that we would be too stupid to see it happening-- or we would join with him because we are just as evil.

They believe everyone EXCEPT their Saintly Extremist Minority would allow Obama to herd right-wing dissidents into concentration camps... to persecute and kill them ...and force those who escape into the underground, like the French resistance during WWII.

I think the "Oathtakers" are the best example of this. I have read their "Declaration of 10 Orders" that they will not obey, and do not consider ANY of them racist. In fact, I think all of them are admirable and consistent with the American Revolution (...except maybe #5, but I'm willing to accept their intent rather than their literal wording.)

So frankly, I'm not worried about The Oathkeepers as a potential threat to Obama OR liberals. I could drink beer with these guys (although I doubt they'd feel the same about me.)

Having said that, I believe the MOTIVATION for CREATING The Oathkeepers definitely WAS racist... owing to the fact that this organization was only created after a black President was elected -- even though prior Presidents committed crimes far closer to The Oathkeeper's fears than Obama has....

Both lefties and righties are disturbed by the inconsistency of Obama's decisions. While I admit his inconsistency is not reassuring, it reassures me that he is NOT the ogre that the right OR left wings believe he is. That is exactly the behavior I would expect from a maverick, "green", overconfident President who overestimated his ability to lead all the racially-charged "howlies" on the mainland.

An aspiring socialist dictator or tool of right-wing corporatists would have a well-planned and consistent agenda. And WHY -- for God's sake -- would either "secret government" push a BLACK candidate into the Presidency to implement their agenda when they could simply BUY a much more effective WHITE "unknown" and forgo the racial problems?

But I STILL see Obama working to do better, and I believe he WILL do better... with very cautious optimism...

If I ever got a serious hint that Obama was planning what the hysterisists fear, I'd switch sides in an instant. I'd be IN FRONT of the hystericists, ready to take the first bullets -- because I'd owe them that. And I'm confident that most moderate and liberals would be right behind me.

Just because I don't agree with right-wing hystericists about Obama doesn't mean I would abandon you if you turned out to be right.

Tom, I didn’t misread anything, just playing along. I could show you how one could draw that as a logical, albeit a stretch, conclusion from the conversation, but I know how you feel about Bush, so won’t bother.

I definitely distrust Obama, his administration, and party. I used to work for a scumbag who would say, “you don’t have to lie, just don’t tell the truth”, which I see in Obama and the democrats. Government has gotten way too big and intrusive, and no longer represents the will of the majority of the people. I despise big government and the spending/debt that go along with it. Obama and his posse are all about big government and protection of minority interests over the majority, all the while putting us deeper in debt, and serving only themselves and their well connected and well healed constituents/backers; no better, and likely to be worse, than the Bush years. Don’t be fooled by the BS. The middle class, the overwhelming majority of AMERICANS, are the one’s who are going to get screwed again, regardless of what he says.

A wise man once said, “Society in every state is a blessing, but government even in its best state is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one;”

Cheers to you too!

He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law. Do you really want to know how much harder he worked than the rest of us did? Let it ride that he was among the best.

So Lou is scared of President Obama's experience with the military and such...isn't that why presidents and ceos hire people that HAVE experience with such things? Say you are a CEO of a hospital, you don't claim to know how to do triple-bypass surgery, right but you know how to run the hospital so that doctors who do know how have the equipment and staff to do triple-bypass surgery? You also go out and get the best cardiologists you can to become part of your hospital. Right?

There's a little group of men (and possibly women at this point of our history) that work for the President of the United Staes called the "Chiefs of Staff." Gee, Mr. Prichett...they seem to know an AWFUL lot about the military.

Now I won't be able to sleep tonight being scared of the fact that Barack Obama has never run a farm, treated patients, help to design or manufacture a car, never worked in a power plant...all sort of things that he CAN'T do. Let him do what he can do to help the people who do do these things!

Seems to me there is a reason it's called the EXECUTIVE branch of the government. Silly me...

What you have here are two different cultures. One culture wants to include and to sympathize, one culture wants to exclude and vilify. The latter sees itself as "of the soil". It feels under constant threat, beleaguered on all sides by so-called "new comers" who have no claim to that soil--who are not its genuine sons. This is why the right has gone to so much trouble to prove that Obama was not born in America--this conforms to their sense of him as an outsider--they are looking for proof for something they already feel. The first culture--the inclusive and the sympathizing is America's hope. The second culture is America's shame.

Abraham Lincoln - ? Are you frikkin' kidding me? He was a riverboatman, store owner, small town lawyer. Yep he owned a business and met (or fail to meet) a payroll.

This run a company or met a payroll crap is getting pretty old. Running or guiding a country isn't like running a company. It's more like running a hospital. You've got a thousand urgent things to do and you have to triage. You have to set aside how much it's going to cost because you have to first save the patient. America is a pretty sick patient and like most in that situation, in denial. Fortunately, Dr. Obama's on duty!

Daddy:

You generalize well outside of Lou's statement.

While TDR was one hell of a military commander, he never "[ran] a company or met a payroll". Neither did JFK.

Woodrow Wilson? Never made a payroll -- only worked for one.

George Washington and Thomas Jefferson did not need to make a payroll, as both kept slaves to do their work.

As for Lincoln:

1831 - Lost his job
1832 - Defeated in run for
Illinois State Legislature
1833 - Failed in business
1836 - Had nervous breakdown
1838 - Defeated in run for
Illinois House Speaker
1843 - Defeated in run for
nomination for U.S. Congress
1846 - Elected to Congress
1848 - Lost re-nomination
1849 - Rejected for land officer
position
1854 - Defeated in run for U.S.
Senate
1856 - Defeated in run for
nomination for Vice President
1858 - Again defeated in run for
U.S. Senate

(Can you say "loser" by any current right-wing standard...? Lincoln would not have a snowball's chance in hell to be nominated by today's Republican standards, and would probably fail even more miserably in business -- because he was too honest.)

Imagination is a good thing, but not when discussing facts. Try to stick to the point.

I'm not sure when you quote " our fortunes and our sacred honor" whether you are referring to Rush Limbaugh's father's speech or the Declaration of Independence. It feels like the former. Right-wing lunacy?

You put up a comment in my blog supporting tax evasion advice for child brothels!

Why are you being so racist here? To write that a white criticising a black must be racist, when there was no race involved in the criticism, is itself racist.

You are also really late with this one. I blogged it 3 months ago and it wasn't fresh in the USA even then.

As for your critique of the letter, it just shows you have no idea what Mr Pritchett was talking about.

"Have you been reading the newspapers in the last three years?"

Yes he probably has. As have I. Unlike you it appears. They said nothing of substance about Obama, it was all surface gloss.

Lou wasn't running for president, so what relevance has his education? Everyone else running for president has their life turned over, previous contacts and benefactors studied. Why not Obama?

That is Pritchett's point about paying for Obama's education, and pretty obvious really.

To never have worked in the real world or served in the military is far different from only having done one. How many of those presidents you listed did neither? FDR did a terrible job in his recession anyway btw, deepened it into depression, so that was not such a good example.

Mr Pritchett did not say anything about Kenyan birth or Obama being a terrorist. When you can't argue with what someone did say but have to imply they said something else you have lost the argument. Just admit it; your dishonesty devalues the rest of what you say.

The rest is just you clowning around. You make no serious, rational points at all. Sorry, but this post is an epic fail.

It's all about subtext. Tom's "clowning" with Pritchett's piece is clowning in earnest. He's simply doing a little translation work. The right is famous for subterfuge. You don't have to dig deep but you have dig. Racists don't usually say things like" I don't like Obama because he's a black man" Instead, they say things like "He scares me." and "I don't know anything about this man." On the surface these are innocent enough remarks. Tom was simply filling in the blanks.

Thanks Tom

So the only "inaccuracy" you find in my post that is "chock-full of inaccuracies" is something I didn't even address. You'll have to do better than that!

Of course whatever you claim about racism, the actual fact is that that Jimmy Carter's aide was handing out racist campaign leaflets at a KKK rally as late as 1970, so your 1964 date appears to be meaningless.

I take it by "translating" you mean "completely distorting to make anyone he disagrees with look bad". There is nothing in that letter that justifies what Tom is saying about it.

Well, perhaps you do but fear to either remind your readers of the corruption in left-wing organisations or admit your support for people who would aid importers of child sex slaves.

Now!Now, Richard! "Spamming" is a bit strong, don't you think? I'm just encouraging a good robust debate. Here is the statement I sent out to various websites around the world this morning:

"The question is just screaming to be posed: How many ACORN locations did these "investigators" (Inquisitors?) have to infiltrate before they were able to implicate three corrupt officials?

"Has anyone bothered to ask that question?

"I smell a rat. Better still, I smell a FOX."

I didn't say that FOX was behind it - only that I suspected as much. How much would you care to wager that I will be proven right?

Dear Smamming Ball Sucker,

I read your resume with some interest after your sucktackular blog spammed our LOCAL blog.

I was so impressed that a high school dropout found himself taking up journalism. Why am I not suprised?

In the future please stick to writing about Hollywood. That is something that you may be almost qualified to do.

I just know that there's a message in here somewhere.

Yeah, I'll do that.

I read your resume with some interest after your sucktackular blog spammed our LOCAL blog.

Might I suggest that in the near future you might consider purchasing a Roget's Thesauras?

Just out of curiosity, but have you ever noticed that not once in three-and-a-half years have I deleted even one message posted by you silly people? Why would I? You guys are the gift that keeps giving....

No, but I have noticed that at least one of my posts disappeared after criticizing one of your "allies"... Nor do you respond to any of my questions or comments any more.

Does that count? Do you only debate the mentally impaired? Or will this message disappear too?

While I feel that bigotry is primarily a right-wing-thing, it exists significantly on the left, too. ...and I just "calls it like I sees it!"

In business? Well, sort of. Jefferson kept screwing it up, though.

And Obama? He took a free office and modest stipend from a Catholic group and turned it into a $500,000/year poverty-fighting organization with a payroll in three years. It's tough enough to meet a payroll when you've got a good product, but nearly a miracle when you have to beg for money from the well-off to help those much less well-off.

But then, you'd have to read Obama's two books, or the extensive biographies in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Washington Post, Seattle Times, Houston Chronicle, Arizona Republic, Nashville Tennesseean, or some similar organ, to know that.

And somehow, no matter where they are or how much money they have, the Lou Pritchetts of the world just can't be bothered to read the blessed newspaper.

One Ronin,

I deleted that posting because you said a cruel and ignorant thing thing about a good and decent woman - whom you don't even know - who has dedicated her life to trying to turning this silly country around. When you said what you did, I tried not to embarrass you (or her) by calling attention to it, I merely quietly removed it from the discussion.

As to my failure to answer every one of your postings; have you noticed the traffic this site has been getting lately? If I answered every comment, I would be here all day. I've got a life to lead, my friend.

Tom, you mention in one of your posts "The question is just screaming to be posed: How many ACORN locations did these "investigators" (Inquisitors?) have to infiltrate before they were able to implicate three corrupt officials"
Are you serious? first of all that number is up to six now and isn't ONE plenty enough. I bet you would be real proud to win that wager (good for you Tommy). These workers at OBAMACORN go down as one of the biggest rejects ever.
Ask yourself how many have walked into an OBAMACORN location who weren't investigators and sought advice on illegal activities...I'm pretty sure there is plenty of that going around at OBAMACORN. You can hate FOX all you want but the truth hurts. OBAMACORN is O-Shits little baby..it will be part of his downfall along with a bunch of other stuff that I won't get into right now.
Oh and since RACE is the only industry that O-Shit is succeeding in - how do you explain the fact that he won the white vote in November? all of a sudden these people who voted for him (I forgive them) are racists.
The race card never works...nice try and may the failures of O-Shit & OBAMACORN continue!!!

I was wondering what the hell had happened to you and was getting a bit worried! A reader from your state asked me over the phone just this morning where you were.

As to your inquiry; there are thousands of people employed by ACORN. Most of them (I hope) are on the up and up. An entire organization should not be judged by the corruption of a few.

If you want to look into a REALLY corrupt organization, check out the Republican National Committee.

So, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"...? I believe that was the justification for the U.S. backing Saddam Hussein and starting the Iraq mess in the first place.

An enemy of truth is an enemy of humanity -- whether they are capitalist or socialist, Democrat or Republican.

I never said anything "cruel or ignorant" against your "good woman" in the post that you deleted. I was questioning YOUR judgment about supporting her admitted "Populist", strongly anti-Obama stance -- and I did it in a MUCH milder manner than those extremists you allow to insult you and/or Democratic values...

Too bad the message is gone now. If I had suspected you would delete it, I would have kept a copy. ....But you stand challenged again because of your admitted censorship of someone who otherwise backs Obama AND YOU...!

I believe THIS message is as likely to disappear as the one you deleted! So I've emailed it to some other contributors here, and posted it on my blog to document your anticipated censorship.

I don't have any reason to insult or criticize anyone except on what they say or do. I am willing to let my comments --AND Rady Ananda's attacks against Obama --stand up to the scrutiny of your supporters, who can make their own decisions about all three of us --- if YOU will allow them!

...Or do you think they aren't smart enough to agree with you and Rady unless you censor me?

Is it really? What are you? a cube dweller who mooches off of his employer and waste countless hours every month? I am a business owner -and that's EXACTLY what we need to trim the dead weight at the Govt level.

"Running or guiding a country isn't like running a company."

Yeah. That's why Amtrak, the Post Office, Medicare and every other government program or assist is in the hole or costing 9 times what it should.
Regular for profit companies will trim the program fat - or cut the program until it can contribute to te bottom line. Applying Capitalism to our government function would greatly improve the nation. Every program could immediately eliminate stagnant waste and ward off corrupt behavior.
I just read about 40% of the claims to Medicare in Miami being fraudulent. Yet nobody looks at the bottom line and decides to end that skimming?

Tom, tell your concerned reader from MA that I'm in Lexington, drice a silver Accord (no hybrids for me) and have an "Insane Hussein" bumper sticker. I've been getting a lot of honks lately on that!
I will be heading to Dorchester (will take my other vehicle since I'll be shot if I take the one with the Hussein sticker)soon to work with OBAMACORN with hopes of getting pointers from them in order to see if I can help getting Curt Schilling get elected for Chivas' vacated seat in the senate. OBAMACORN has recently signed with the RNC to help them with their campaign needs (voter fraud, intimidation, the black vote of course, free consulting with the black panthers and much much more).
Speaking of Ted K's senate seat. Looks like Dukakis might get the temp position until early Jan if our moron governor changes the law again like we did for Chivas 5 years ago. The bad news on this is that Dukakis is one of the worst human beings on the face of this earth. The good news is liquor sales in the DC area will go through the roof with his wife Kitty in town for a few months.

Always a pleasure Tom. Keep up the good work with your writing.

Harry, I think she’s correct. You should move to NH. New Hampshire has the lowest state and local tax burden in the continental U.S., the second-lowest level of dependence on federal spending in the U.S., a citizen legislature where state house representatives have not raised their $100 per year salary since 1889, the lowest crime levels in the U.S., and a culture of individual responsibility indicated by, for example, an absence of seatbelt and helmet requirements for adults. Although there has been some spill-over of liberals from MA near the border, it’s still better than most other places in the country.

An America which is not defined by Fux News, the hectoring O'Reilly, the never-stop bawling Hannity, the effete Glennis Beck, the horsey Ingraham and the shrieking, bottle-blond bimbos dubious claims to academic status and all.

This is the take of a New Zealander way down in the South Pacific: Ugly Americanism is on the rise.....why ? Basically because the racists.....yeah, you can forget about Left vs Right.....the racists, well they just can't hack the fact of a black man in the White House. How to Become a Member of the Right Wing

Comes from a family that cares for him and promotes the idea of self reliance (good so far). Goes to college and gets a degree because that's what his background dictates. Perhaps goes on to a law degree or engineering. (good so far) Gets a job in his field and begins to earn money. The money is pretty good or even very good and here the problem begins--starts to think that this is all due to his "own hard work" which is true only in part. Forgets that he came from a family that took care of him and started him on the road to self fulfillment. Forgets that people of his class go on to university and get degrees "automatically". Forgets or cannot see that society is "designed for success" for people like him--that with his background and opportunities he would have to deliberately fuck up to fail. Result: A person with little understanding of the mechanics of society, and no sympathy for people without his advantages.

Such a person should not be identified immediately as a racist nor a fascist. The makings are there but there are further steps in the process. There are also emotional and psychological factors that come into play. There are also other avenues to the right wing view of the world. This is simply one of the more common routes.

Honestly, NH is a damn ripoff when it comes to property taxes. At the end of the day the suckers there pay just as much tax as the folks in Mass do.

I have decided that this idea of "thank god we can publish claptrap and lies about our government.." is bullpoop. Really, if Adolph had started in America, say West Virginia, publishing Mein Kampf and encouraging people to kill Jews we'd be all over him... in admiration. Americans love tough talk. Barack's too comfortable with his fem side. This Open Letter says a great deal and hides the underlying problem: our President is a neeeegrow! Yup, aside from the fact that he's way too polite he also has darker skin that I do and according to people like Lou that should terrify me. Oddly enough what terrifies me is that Obama is continuing policies that under Bush were called abhorrent and illegal and worthy of impeachment. Dang. Talk about a flawed hero... NOW what do we do to fight people like ol' Lou here when our Hero is at best mediocre? It's like having Step'n Fetchit head of the Joint Chiefs. When the bigots indicated that a black President would signal the End Times I guess I did not expect that they meant they would take down the country around us. It's not an appropriate, sane action though because like all the folks in Washington Obama is a rich lawyer and therefor has no recognizable racial background. He's rich, he can be anyone he wants to. Curiously, Kucinich's childhood was closer to a typical black experience, sleeping in cars and motels, struggling to make ends meet. Maybe we should have elected him.
