Note to the Dems: CHILL!
I have to take a moment here to, once again, explain why I left the Democratic party nearly twenty-one years ago, As I have explained too many times to count. I'm not comfortable with any political party with a genius for taking a bottle of finely aged wine and turning it into a worthless jug of donkey piss. I'm sorry, but I just can't go there.
Hillary Clinton has announced that she will not be a candidate in 2020. This is a wise move on her part. I hope and believe that the next president will be a woman - just not that woman. For the life of me, I cannot fathom the likes of Hillary - a tired and stale old plutocrat - guiding the ship of state. We desperately need someone with a bit more gravitas at the helm.
The Democrats are in the process of destroying themselves.

I should have finished this piece ten days ago. While I was working on it, I fell and gashed my forehead. A couple of days later I fell again and broke my right arm at the shoulder.
I've been having balancing issues in the last couple of years, just in case you wanted to know.

Time to vent:
Having turned sixty at the end of last summer, my initial plan was not to get old for another fifteen years. That plan has gone just a tad awry. I can remember a time, not too many years ago, when it was oodles of fun being Tom Degan. It positively sucks now. I'm probably at the dawn of the final fade out. Men in my family tend not to live too far into their sixties. I'm not going to be the exception to that rule - trust me. I've already lived longer than my father, my grandfather, and three of my uncles. When I was in my teens and twenties, I never thought I'd live to see my thirtieth birthday. I have survived for twice as long. In August I will be turning sixty-one. Boy, do I feel stupid!

That's fine. I've had a very interesting life, and, while it was not always happy, it was never boring - not for a moment.
Seriously, I can truthfully say that I've had a supremely good run. One of the secrets of never getting bored is to always have a good book at the ready. Timely tip.
Even my dreams have always been beautiful. Writers are notorious for having nightmares. In this case I am the exception to the rule. Most of my dreams are happy. About a year ago I dreamed I was walking through a park late at night. The park, which might have been New York's Central, was sparsely lit by strategically placed lamps and a glorious full moon. All of the sudden I was approached in the darkness by a beloved and lost friend. We talked and laughed and, as we went our separate ways, we hugged. It was the loveliest dream I ever had. I believe she was reaching out to me from beyond that eternal and unknowable void. She says"hi!".
Just some thoughts that I wanted to share. And, no, I'm not checking out today or this month - or even this year....I think.
Chill.

"The Democrats are in the process of destroying themselves." ~~ Tom Degan
Of course, Tom. Ever since the Democratic Party prostituted itself on the alter of corporate money, it became, by default, "Republican-lite".
Once one pays homage to greed and big money, over the virtues of representing the needs of the people, the way out of the forest is fraught with all kinds of hazards and obstacles.
They're forming the circular firing squad. Even if someone remains standing, their wounds will bleed profusely throughout the 2020 campaign.
Who has what you feel is needed to run out country?
I agree with you, the democrat are destroying themselves. The American Spectator agrees with both of us.

Hey Tom, your ad at the top of the page does not work, I was interested in a driver repair but now I see none of the ads work.
This is a winning position, if illegals are given the vote.
While campaigning for President in Iowa, Kirstin Gillibrand said she wants to expand social security to cover illegal immigrants.
After nearly three years and millions of tax dollars, the Trump-Russia collusion probe is about to be resolved. Emerging in its place is newly unearthed evidence suggesting another foreign effort to influence the 2016 election — this time, in favor of the Democrats.
Ukraine’s top prosecutor divulged in an interview aired Wednesday on Hill.TV that he has opened an investigation into whether his country’s law enforcement apparatus intentionally leaked financial records during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign about then-Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort in an effort to sway the election in favor of Hillary Clinton.
The leak of the so-called black ledger files to U.S. media prompted Manafort’s resignation from the Trump campaign and gave rise to one of the key allegations in the Russia collusion probe that has dogged Trump for the last two and a half years.
Ukraine Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko’s probe was prompted by a Ukrainian parliamentarian’s release of a tape recording purporting to quote a top law enforcement official as saying his agency leaked the Manafort financial records to help Clinton’s campaign.
Five things that didn't happen in the Mueller investigation
1. Mueller did not indict Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, or other people whose purported legal jeopardy was the subject of intense media speculation in the last year.
2. Mueller did not charge anyone in the Trump campaign or circle with conspiring with Russia to fix the 2016 election, as was the subject of intense media speculation in the last year.
3. Mueller did not subpoena the president, as was the subject of intense media speculation in the last year.
4. The president did not fire Mueller, as was the subject of intense media speculation in the last year.
5. The president did not interfere with the Mueller investigation, as was the subject of intense media speculation in the last year. In his letter to Congress, Barr noted the requirement that he notify lawmakers if top Justice Department officials ever interfered with the Mueller investigation. "There were no such instances," Barr wrote.
So Mueller is finished
Mozart, Good News for America, Muller investigation finds no obstruction of justice or collusion with Russia by PRESIDENT Trump. Nor did any of his family nor any members of his election committee.
Will the leftist and all the other Trump haters apologize? Apologize for wasting millions of tax dollars and days of wasting this administrations time.
Not in this life time. Just like the left can never admit to failure, they can never admit to being wrong.
Oh Tom, what about your predictions that President Trump would not last out his term? Did you like your crow, fried or baked?
Q: How many Russians does it take to make Hillary Clinton lose an election?
A: NONE!
Now, the real investigation can begin. That of how the Democrats faked a conspiracy. The faux Steele dossier is just one of many items the Democrats faked to delude the public into a Trump/Russia collusion. The meeting at Trump Tower with lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was a setup. Before and after the meeting Natasha met with Fusion GPS personnel. The same Fusion GPS that sponsored the dossier. Nellie Orh, an professor of Russian politics, worked at Fusion GPS. Nellie is the wife of disgraced DoJ Associate Deputy AG, Bruce Orh. I believe in coincidences. I don't believe in serial coincidences.
There about 50 DoJ and FBI employees who were demoted, fired or resigned in disgrace.
Adam Schiff, head of the House Intelligence Committee made public claims for months he had seen evidence of Trump's collusion. Time for the Senate Intelligence Committee to call him in for testimony, under oath. Bring the evidence. If, he can't produce such, send a criminal referral to DoJ for sedition and, possibly, conspiracy to commit sedition.
How many stitches did it take to sew you up Tom? Really very sorry to read of you misfortune. I pray your healing will be fast and complete.
Thank you. I'm on the mend.
"Muller [sic] investigation finds no obstruction of justice or collusion with Russia by PRESIDENT Trump." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (commonly known as "Vern")
Vern, you're lying like your president.
Trump was never exonerated on the obstruction part of the investigation.
But you already knew that.
Vern and other alt-right white nationalists are puffing their chests because of the very false notion that since Mueller's Report did not find any evidence of collusion ("conspiracy"), then, by conclusion, there could not be any obstruction of justice.
This is obviously positive, yet unrealistic, thinking. Let's turn this around and see the problem with their obvious failed logic.
If the crime of obstruction of justice were committed, which Mueller's Report indicates cannot be ruled out (i.e. Trump was not exonerated of this crime), and Trump's obstruction was successful, then this could very well be the reason that no evidence of collusion ("conspiracy") was ever discovered.
Sorry to hear about your arm. You get well.
With today's technology, you can always use Alexa or any other means of transferring your thoughts into text. I enjoy reading your point of view.
I'm only a few months younger than you, my bday is two days after the vernal equinox but our lives parallel one another with the lives of our male ancestors.

May you live long to see many full moons rise, whether it is in your dreams or strolling thru the neighborhood you grew up in.
Tom, what you described sounds serious. I'm guessing you've been diagnosed by a medical practitioner and given instructions on how to avert recurring episodes.
My father died due to complications associated with Parkinson's, which started with a fall similar to what you experienced.
Wishing you wellness, my friend, and enhanced happiness and ever-interesting days in this very dark time of our nation's history.
Nationalist:
a person who strongly identifies with their own nation and vigorously supports its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations.
Based on your posts JG, I can see why you would be offended if called a nationalist, but this does beg the question, what do you call an Black American "who strongly identifies with their own nation and vigorously supports its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations." Is it only a bad thing when a white person is a nationalist? Do you support the interests of your country?
As is typical of leftist like yourself, you have weaponized the English language.
P.S. What does it mean to you that Mueller reported there will be NO MORE indictments coming? It means there was no collusion and there was no obstruction.
Swalwell: “Our Standard Is Different Than Proof Beyond A Reasonable Doubt”
The new standard of the left, unless it's HRC we are talking about.
"Russia if you're listening.." and the Trump Tower meeting with Russian agents were acts of collusion, and Helsinki proved Putin had his puppet dancing on his strings.
Justice has been obstructed. Period.
"In deciding that Trump didn’t obstruct justice after a paltry 48 hours of review, Barr 'concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.' He came to this conclusion — in spite of saying during his confirmation hearings that what Trump is known to have done amounts to obstruction — because Mueller found that 'the evidence does not establish that the President was involved in an underlying crime related to Russian election interference.'
That’s not the crime that, the evidence quite clearly shows, Trump may have committed. This is not the crime that Manafort appears to have lied about in hopes of getting a pardon.
In giving Trump the all-clear on obstruction charges, Barr appears not to have considered whether Trump obstructed the actual crime in question. He instead considered whether the president obstructed a different crime. This is the legal sleight of hand that has allowed Barr to proclaim that Trump will not be charged.
The Democratic-controlled House Judiciary Committee now has abundant reason to get all the underlying materials from the Mueller inquiry, because the attorney general just cleared the president of something he agreed constituted a crime just a few months ago." ~~ The New Republic, excerpt from "Yes, Trump Obstructed Justice. And William Barr Is Helping Him Cover It Up" by Marcy Wheeler, 3/24/2019
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to A.G. Barr-num's Greatest Show on Earth!
Watch closely at my right hand...don't take your gaze away...keep watching and never look away from my right hand...watch only my right hand...
Hmm... Can you spell cover up?
Meanwhile, even thought President Trump has been exonerated by the team of 'anti-President Trump' "special council" witch hunt members who had Carte Blanche access to -anything and everything-, liberals socialist democrats cannot accept the results. Much like the presidential election they will not accept FACTS unless they agree with them.
Russia if you're listening.." and the Trump Tower meeting with Russian agents were acts of collusion, and Helsinki proved Putin had his puppet dancing on his strings.
Justice has been obstructed. Period.
How stone cold stupid can you be dave, oh, never mind, we already know the answer, VERY!
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/mueller-told-barr-rosenstein-3-weeks-ago-he-would-not-n987041
WASHINGTON — Special counsel Robert Mueller and members of his team informed Attorney General William Barr three weeks ago that they would not reach a conclusion on whether the president had obstructed justice, according to a person familiar with the meeting.
Both Barr and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who was also at the March 5 meeting, were surprised by this, the person said.
"...liberals socialist democrats cannot accept the results." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (or simply known as "Vern")
You're absolutely correct, Vern, I unequivocally will not accept the results of the 4-page Barr Report.
"...they will not accept FACTS unless they agree with them." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (or simply known as "Vern")
Once again. I will not accept the partisan 4-page Barr Report as the final and ultimate synopsis of the almost 400-page Mueller Report. Why do you?
I don't need Barr's questionable CliffsNotes version. I prefer to read the whole, unabridged, work from the original author.
Just an aside, Vern...don't you ever grow fatigued from defending an absolute moron? I mean, really?
"...JG, I can see why you would be offended if called a nationalist, but this does beg the question, what do you call an Black American..." ~~ Timothy L. Trueblood V (commonly known as "Vern")
No, Vern, this does not "beg the question" at all. It's not the word, "nationalist", that's the offending part here. It's only when combined and used in conjunction with its precursor, "white", that makes the combination of words racist in its intent and objectives.
But you already knew this. Here, read on...
Definition: "white nationalist":
"White nationalism is a type of nationalism or pan-nationalism which espouses the belief that white people are a race and seeks to develop and maintain a white national identity. Its proponents identify with and are attached to the concept of a white nation." ~~ excerpt from Wikipedia
Look up the term "liberal nationalism". It's not exclusive of others -- whether democratically, economically, under the the rule of law, or because of racial or cultural diversity.
"White nationalism" is unilaterally, and exactly, the opposite.
Argument is over. You're wrong.
A majority of Americans now believe that the special counsel’s investigation into whether President Donald Trump colluded with the Russian government to steal the 2016 election was “politically motivated,” a sharp increase from when the poll was last conducted in January – before the investigation was completed.
The news comes from a recent CBS News poll, conducted between March 25 and March 26, which found 54% of respondents believe the investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller was “politically motivated,” compared to 37% who believe it was “justified.”
The poll was previously conducted in January and, at that time, found 50% of respondents believed the investigation was “justified” and 45% said it was “politically motivated.”
While this appears to be the biggest nugget of information from the poll, it was not the hook CBS used to report on its own poll. In fact, it was the last point mentioned in the media outlet’s report on the poll, and while every other point in the article received its own tweet, the information about whether the probe was justified or politically motivated did not.
"[Miss Meghan and I] talked and laughed and, as we went our separate ways, we hugged. It was the loveliest dream I ever had. I believe she was reaching out to me from beyond that eternal and unknowable void." ~~ Tom Degan
No doubt, Tom. Those who have moved on from this incarnate existence to a spiritual place will often reach out to left-behind loved ones through their subconscious.
It would be interesting if you could recall the specifics of what was discussed. Meghan could have been letting you know she's okay now, or even that everything will be okay with you.
I have a feeling your work isn't quite done here, Tom, and you'll be around through the length of the next decade.
JG, this is a lie "[Vern's] response was a denial that sea levels are rising" but coming from dave that's not surprising.
Hey Clucky, the report specifically says it does NOT exonerate Trump. And even if it DOES, why is the GOP blocking every effort to have it published? Go figure all we get is a "summary" from Trump's personal whitewash man. Also, why are Trump's lawyers fighting the release of his tax returns? Didn't Trump PROMISE to release them on several occasions?
Come on, man.
Oh and Clucky, HITLER was a "Nationalist". Just saying...
"we don't need Barr's questionable Cliffs Notes version.
He is just a hired gun paid for by the taxpayers, Not a savior, white knight or a JUDGE.
Hey Mozart, want to explain where the indictments are if the investigation does NOT exonerate President Trump? Blocking release? That's BS President Trump is on record stating he WANTS the release. But there is little little thing called the law, a law passed by the Democrats after the Clinton impeachment that REQUIRES AG Barr to do what he is doing, not that the law ever meant anything to democrats.
"Trump's personal whitewash man", you mean the person that by the Constitution is selected by the President, and approved by the Senate with 3 democrats voting for him? I guess Holder and Lynch weren't whitewashed for Obama? Sounds like you want to change that part of the Constitution to satisfy your TDS.
Tax returns, show me the law that requires anyone to release their tax returns. Show me the returns of Democrat house leadership and committee heads. Explain how Polosi became millionaire as a member of the house?
Mozart you were one who said here to wait for the Mueller investigation to be completed, that there was lot of "stuff"about President Trump and Russia, that he was going to do the perp walk from the White House, that his family was facing prison time.
Guess what? Unless the Russians got to Mueller (LOL), YOU ARE DEAD WRONG!!!!!!
Get over it, stop being such a baby POOR LOSSER.
JG
Are you still dave's sock puppet?
Mozart, George Washington was a Nationalist who was also white, but you knew that..didn't you.
Will you tell us what Obama policy brought about the lowest unemployment since 1969, the highest employment rate for Blacks and Hispanics on record? Maybe you can tell us what Obama policy has allowed the US to be an oil exporter? You seem an expert, so fill us in.
I should have them removed. They haven't paid me in almost six years.
Thank you!
Tom - Somewhere along the line I missed hearing about your medical issues. What I have read in the blog sounds serious. Where are your explanations?
Jim
"...want to explain where the indictments are if the investigation does NOT exonerate President Trump?" ~~ Just the Facts! (otherwise known as Timothy L. Trueblood V, from Fort Worth, TX)
Be patient, Vern. Although the Mueller Report has been officially put to bed, and suppressed by Trump's hand-selected AG, the indictments will continue to unfold. All in due time.
As you know, Mueller anticipated Trump's inability to think more than one step at a time so he strategically made preparations for his ineptness and carelessness. Indictments have been sealed and are ready to be issued at the appropriate time. This I promise.
Trump's victory lap a few weeks ago was way premature (which is typical of him, according to Stephanie Clifford) and now he's acting nervous as a cat on a hot tin roof, again, pending the release of Mueller's Report to Congress.
I've said it before, the plan is to prosecute the mobster-in-chief once he's not protected by the immunity of his office. That's when all hell will break loose.
He's gonna have the Trump brand name over his cell door in state prison. Ya' gotta love it!
Still waiting Mozart for you barely above average response to my question;
Will you tell us what Obama policy brought about the lowest unemployment since 1969, the highest employment rate for Blacks and Hispanics on record? Maybe you can tell us what Obama policy has allowed the US to be an oil exporter? You
Neuropathy it's called.
